Derrick Favors ruled out for Thursday

Derrick Favors will not play tonight against the Kings. He’s been a game-time decision for the Jazz’s last few games, so it’s a little surprising that he’s been ruled out so early in the day. With Favors out, Gordon Hayward will continue to lead the offense, with Rodney Hood also seeing more offensive responsibilities. Now that Rudy Gobert is back, Jeff Withey isn’t a viable DFS play even with Favors out. Gobert himself is a GPP dart-throw.

Kobe Bryant to be a game-time decision Thursday; Brandon Bass still doubtful

Kobe Bryant is a game-time decision for tonight’s game with the Warriors. If he’s able to play, it’ll eat into the value of Lou Williams and Jordan Clarkson, but both players would become nice targets if Kobe was to sit. Williams is in play in any format regardless of Kobe’s status, but a potential blowout does keep his floor fairly low. Brandon Bass remains doubtful for tonight, which makes Larry Nance a very intriguing punt play. Nance played 37 minutes in the last game Bass missed and is a good bet for 30+ in this spot tonight.

Mike Conley

Mike Conley doubtful, Matt Barnes probable for Thursday

Mike Conley is doubtful for tonight’s game with Detroit, while Matt Barnes is probable to play. It’s looking like Mario Chalmers will handle the large majority of the run at PG again tonight, making him a very strong value target on a short slate. Detroit has been fairly good against the PG spot and are a strong defensive unit overall, so playing the fade in GPPs does make some sense. With Barnes probable, the playing time for other wings like Jeff Green, Courtney Lee and Tony Allen.

Shabazz Napier likely out for tonight's game

Magic Head Coach Scott Skiles stated that backup PG Shabazz Napier is likely out for tonight’s game against the Raptors due to illness. With Elfrid Payton returning tonight this news has little DFS impact although it could mean Mario Hezonja gets a few additional minutes off the bench.

Magic starters for tonight's game announced

Elfrid Payton is returning to action tonight but will come off the bench as the Magic have announced that Victor Oladipo will start again at PG. The rest of the starting lineup will be Evan Fournier, Tobias Harris, Channing Frye, and Nikola Vucevic. It’s a tough match up for the Magic as they face a Raptors team that is 5th in fantasy points allowed per game. Vucevic is the best play of the group as the Raptors rank 15th in center DvP.

Jimmy Butler

Chicago Bulls injury report

Pau Gasol is out for tonight’s game with the hopes of returning on Friday. Joakim will get the start in his place and is a viable DFS option at his price point against a 76ers team that ranks dead last in the NBA in center DvP. Derrick Rose is a game-time decision and there are conflicting reports on Jimmy Butler who missed the teams shootaround. Some beat reporters have stated that he will play while others have him listed as questionable. Doug McDermott on the other hand is available to play. We’ll keep an eye on the status of Rose and Butler and update you as soon as we learn anything new.

Mo Williams

Denver Nuggets

Mo Williams out for Cavaliers tonight

Williams did not travel with the team for their game with the Spurs for personal reasons and will not play tonight. He was out of the Cavs rotation anyway with the return of Kyrie Irving so the DFS impact is minimal.

Rodney Stuckey

Indiana Pacers
1/14/16, 11:40 AM ET

Rodney Stuckey out for minimum of two weeks

The Pacers announced this morning that Rodney Stuckey has a sprain and bone bruise in his right foot and will be out for two weeks before being reevaluated. C.J. Miles will get the biggest boost on the team as he’ll pick up the majority of Stuckey’s minutes but it should also mean additional playing time for starters Monta Ellis and George Hill.

Justise Winslow

Toronto Raptors
1/13/16, 11:35 PM ET

Justise Winslow starting again tonight

Justise Winslow will be starting in place of Hassan Whiteside. Chris Bosh will play the 5 with Luol Deng playing the 4. Look for both players to try and carry the scoring load with the Heat ailing.

Hassan Whiteside

Hassan Whiteside active, so could possibly play off bench tonight

Hassan Whiteside is active and would play off the bench tonight. There is a chance he gets no run and is a risky DFS option. Whiteside was going to be limited if he played, so it is best he is avoided.

Beno Udrih

Detroit Pistons
1/13/16, 11:27 PM ET

Udrih will start in place of Dragic

Beno Udrih will start in place of the injured Goran Dragic tonight. Tyler Johnson is still the better DFS play tonight even though he is not starting. The Heat are on a long road trip and Johnson is coming off a game where he scored 13 points and had five assists with three rebounds. Look for Johnson to keep his hot play going against the Clippers tonight.

Hassan Whiteside

Utah Jazz

Hassan Whiteside confirmed to play tonight

Hassan Whiteside will return to the lineup tonight but is limited to only 20 minutes. Look for Chris Bosh to close out the game at C with Luol Deng at the PF. The Heat will rely on Whiteside for offense when he is in there due to Goran Dragic being out.

Cole Aldrich

Atlanta Hawks
1/13/16, 10:51 PM ET

Cole Aldrich starting for DeAndre Jordan tonight

Cole Aldrich will be starting tonight for the Clippers. Aldrich is a near minimum player and would help fit more studs in your lineup for the late slate. Aldrich is a GPP only play with Hassan Whiteside returning for the Heat.

As reported by: Ben Bolch

Anthony Davis

Washington Wizards
1/13/16, 10:48 PM ET

Anthony Davis to play tonight against the Kings

Anthony Davis will return to the lineup tonight against the Kings. The Pelicans badly need him back after losing to the Lakers last night. Davis will be an under-owned option on a full slate and likely a chalky pick in the late slate. Look for Anthony Davis to play well tonight in an uptempo game. Ryan Anderson loses a ton of value with Davis back in the lineup.

Hassan Whiteside

Utah Jazz
1/13/16, 10:28 PM ET

Hassan Whiteside will warm up with the intention of playing

Hassan Whiteside will look to return to the lineup tonight. Whiteside will be limited to 20 minutes if he does play. With Whiteside being limited look for Chris Bosh to play the C and Luol Deng to play some PF. The Heat will also be missing Goran Dragic tonight, so there will be some extra looks to go around.
