Brandon Jennings to suit up, will only play in an emergency situation
Brandon Jennings has joined the active roster for the Pistons and should be making his debut soon. Tonight the Pistons will have him on the bench and only has an opportunity to play if someone gets in extreme foul trouble or is injured. Jennings is still recovering an Achilles injury, and will be eased back into the lineup. Steve Blake will be the backup PG tonight, but does not provide any DFS value.
As reported by: Rod BeardGiannis Antetokounmpo goes through practice, probable for Wednesday; Jerryd Bayless still out
Giannis Antetokounmpo went through Tuesday’s practice and is considered probable to play on Wednesday against the 76ers. Giannis sat out against the Suns on Sunday, but his knee injury isn’t serious and shouldn’t keep him out for a second consecutive game. He’s a nice upside target on Wednesday against the Sixers, but the Bucks may play it safe with him if this game gets out of hand as many of the Sixers losses have. Jerryd Bayless is still out and there isn’t a concrete plan for his return.
As reported by: C.F. Gardner on Twitter Other tagged players: Jerryd BaylessHarrison Barnes ruled out for Wednesday; Andrew Bogut expected to play
Harrison Barnes has already been ruled out for Wednesday’s game, and while Bogut is listed as day-to-day, he’s expected to play tomorrow night. Barnes absence will continue to lend more time to the likes of Brandon Rush, Leandro Barbosa and Andre Iguodala, and Bogut’s presence takes Festus Ezeli out of play as a potential punt option at center. Bogut isn’t a recommended DFS play due to his fluctuating playing time that typically never rises above 25 minutes – he’s played more than 23 minutes just once this season.
As reported by: Rusty Simmons on Twitter Other tagged players: Harrison BarnesJoakim Noah to miss at least two weeks with sprained shoulder
Noah will miss a minimum of two weeks with a sprained shoulder. He’ll be re-evaluated at the end of the two-week timetable and may end up missing time beyond that. After a big performance with Pau Gasol out over the weekend, Bobby Portis now has a chance to stake claim to a spot in the rotation, and he’d be a very strong DFS target if one of Gasol or Taj Gibson were to miss any time while Noah was out. Gibson should also see an uptick in playing time, and Gasol’s minutes should level out closer to 32-34 for the foreseeable future.
As reported by: K.C. Johnson on Twitter Other tagged players: Bobby Portis, Taj GibsonDamian Lillard ruled out for Wednesday, C.J. McCollum questionable
Damian Lillard has been ruled out for tomorrow’s contest with the Pelicans, while backcourt mate C.J. McCollum is listed as questionable. With both Lillard and McCollum out on Monday, PG Tim Frazier played all 48 minutes and responded with a healthy 12 pts, 7 reb, 7 ast, 2 stl and 1 blk (with 5 turnovers) line that rewarded anyone who took a chance on him in DFS. If both guards are out again tomorrow, expect upwards of 35-38 minutes for Frazier yet again. Allen Crabbe also becomes an elite value target with Lillard/McCollum out, and he’d likely only need one of the two to be out for him to maintain strong DFS relevance. Frazier wouldn’t be a recommended play if either of the two guards suit up.
As reported by: Jason Quick on Twitter Other tagged players: CJ McCollumDanilo Gallinari ruled out on Tuesday
Danilo Gallinari (ankle) will not play Tuesday against the Lakers. This may end up moving Will Barton into the starting lineup, but he’s an elite play tonight in any format regardless. Barton should see around 35 minutes even if he comes off the bench, and will be the Nuggets best scoring threat against a team that struggles mightily on the defensive end. With Gallinari out, Kenneth Faried’s minutes may rise into the low-to-mid 30s, and this also makes a guy like Gary Harris more interesting in GPPs. Barton and Jameer Nelson are the two plug-and-play options here, with Faried very close to that designation as well.
As reported by: Harrison Wind on Twitter Other tagged players: Will BartonKobe Bryant playing tonight
Lakers Head Coach Byron Scott stated Kobe Bryant is going to play tonight against the Nuggets after missing the teams last game. On a small slate, Bryant is in play in the game that has the highest total of the night. The Nuggets are dead last in terms of SG DvP in the NBA. D’Angelo Russell and Jordan Clarkson will lose a few minutes but not enough to worry about not having any DFS value.
As reported by: Mike Bresnahan on TwitterShane Larkin probable for tomorrow's game
After missing the better part of a week with a concussion, the Nets have stated that Shane Larkin is probable for tomorrow’s game. Larkin’s been hit or miss for most of the season but has hit six times value or better in three of his last seven games that he did play so the potential is there. Larkin’s return will send Donald Sloan back to the end of the bench.
As reported by: Andy Vasquez on TwitterCarmelo Anthony questionable for tomorrow's game
The Knicks star forward tweaked his ankle yesterday and is considered questionable for tomorrow’s game. Lance Thomas has been playing great of late and would be in consideration as an elite play if Anthony is unable to go. Derrick Williams would also likely see more time if Anthony sits. We’ll update his status tomorrow as we learn more.
As reported by: Marc Berman on TwitterElfrid Payton questionable for Wednesday's game
The Magic point guard is battling a sore left ankle and is considered questionable for tomorrow’s game against the Rockets. If he’s unable to go expect Victor Oladipo to see his minutes increase and backup point guard Shabazz Napier would also receive a boost. We’ll update Payton’s status tomorrow as we learn more.
As reported by: Josh Robbins on TwitterGoran Dragic a game-time decision
The Miami Heat announced that their starting PG is a game-time decision with a sore hand. If he is unable to go, Beno Udrih would benefit the most and would be an excellent value play on a night where not much value is needed. Dragic is a nice mid-range target in the event that he plays, as he’d likely be called on for 32-35 minutes of court time with Tyler Johnson out.
As reported by: Miami Heat official Twitter feedTyler Johnson and Josh McRoberts out tonight
The Miami Heat announced that Tyler Johnson (missed last two games) and Josh McRoberts (missed last six games) are both out for their game against the Detroit Pistons. Gerald Green will continue to benefit from Johnson’s absence. He’s a safe, high floor, low ceiling value play on this small DFS slate.
As reported by: Miami Heat official Twitter feedPaul Pierce out with a sore back Monday
Paul Pierce will miss tonight’s game with a sore back, but he was not much of a DFS option even when he was in. Look for Luc Richard Mbah a Moute to get some extended run with Pierce out. Wes Johnson and Lance Stephenson will come off the bench to play SF and none of them are much of an option either. All of them will be used to try and stop Kevin Durant tonight in LA.
As reported by: Ben BolchAustin Rivers out Monday with an ankle injury
Austin Rivers has been ruled out tonight’s contest and is likely to miss multiple games with his ankle injury. Look for Pablo Prigioni to get the some minutes as the backup PG. Jamal Crawford will also get minutes running the team tonight and he makes for an interesting play. Crawford is mainly a scorer and his points will be needed to keep up with the Thunder tonight.
As reported by: Dan WoikeLavoy Allen starting over C.J. Miles tonight
The Pacers will try to match the size of the Spurs and start Lavoy Allen. Allen is in for defensive purposes against LaMarcus Aldridge with Miles coming off the bench. Miles has played well in games where he comes off the bench, so look for him to be the spark if the Pacers fall into an early hole. Miles will also be sleeper in a tough matchup, and makes for a sneaky late-swap options.
