Marcin Gortat a sneaky GPP play tonight
Tonight the Wizards match up with the Charlotte Hornets who are undermanned in the front court with Al Jefferson out. Cody Zeller has been filling in for Jefferson but he does not bring the same defensive presence as Jefferson does. The Hornets are middle of the road vs. opposing centers anyways, and with true PF Zeller defending opposing centers it isn’t going much better. Gortat is $6,300 on DraftKings and has the upside we like in GPPs going for 44.5FP Wednesday vs. San Antonio. He has actually been fairly consistent as well averaging around the low 30s in fantasy points over the last couple of weeks. Gortat’s price has been on the rise but likely not as high as it should be right now. On a short slate with not many options to choose from, Gortat will likely not be one of the highest-owned centers on the board and has the upside that is perfect for GPPs.
Kyrie Irving to make season debut Sunday
Irving will play his 1st game of the season Sunday against the 76ers. We will have to wait and see what kind of plans the Cavs have for him. He will most likely be on some kind of minutes limit. It will likely be a handful of games before you can think about playing Irving in your lineups. With Irving returning this hurts the value of Matthew Dellavedova.

Anthony Brown starting for Kobe Bryant
With Bryant out for Saturday’s game, Stanford rookie Anthony Brown will start in his place. Brown was just recalled from the D-League, and has only played 17 minutes this season. He will also be guarding Kevin Durant, according to his head coach. Safe to say you can ignore him for your DFS lineups. All three guards Jordan Clarkson, D’Angelo Russell, and Lou Williams get a slight bump up with Bryant out. All are priced in the mid $5,000s. Williams is the cheapest and has been playing the best lately.

Bryant will miss Saturday’s game because of a shoulder injury. We will have to wait closer to game-time to see who the Lakers decided to start. It could be Metta World Peace, but you can ignore him for your DFS lineups. All three guards Jordan Clarkson, D’Angelo Russell, and Lou Williams get a slight bump up with Bryant out. Gasol played 48 minutes last night and didn’t even make the trip to New York for tonight’s game. Joakim Noah will most likely start in his place. Despite coming off the bench, Noah has been playing pretty well as of late. Over his last five games, he is averaging 28 FD points per game. He makes for a nice play across the board at just $4,900 on FD and $5,100 on DK.

Porter missed the Wizards shootaround on Saturday, but we will have to wait closer to game-time to find out his official status. If Porter doesn’t play, Kansas rookie Kelly Oubre will likely get the start. He would make for a very interesting punt play. He is $1,000 over the minimum on both sites. Over his last two games he has averaged about a fantasy point a minute.

Wall missed Friday’s practice because of a sprained ankle. This caused a little bit of a concern, but the injury seems very minor and Wall will play Saturday against the Hornets. Wall will make for a nice GPP play tonight, because he will be very low owned. Most people will spend up for Russell Westbrook, or go a little down from Wall and go with Chris Paul.

The Hornets have listed Batum as probable for today’s game against the Wizards. He missed last game with an illness. It’s always tough to take a player returning from an injury or illness. On today’s slate you will probably be better off paying up for Kevin Durant, Paul George, or Carmelo Anthony at the SF position. Batum has been struggling a little recently, last game he played he had just 10 FD points. If Batum play’s tonight this hurts the value of Jeremy Lin, who went off last game with Batum out.

Greg Monroe will be back into the starting lineup tonight after missing two games with a knee injury. Michael Carter-Williams also joins him in the start again after having a strong game against the Clippers in a starting role. Giannis Antetokounmpo came off the bench for the Clippers and will be starting tonight as well. The Bucks will try to use their length to bother the Warriors in Oakland. Look for the game to end up in a blowout, but for the Bucks to keep it competitive early.

Tony Allen to be out for the 4th straight game
Tony Allen will be out again and Matt Barnes will be starting again. Barnes will likely get all the run he can handle again tonight, with Jeff Green and Zach Randolph sharing the minutes at PF. Courtney Lee also gets a bump due to Allen’s absence. Look for the starters to play a ton of minutes tonight in what is projected to be a close game.

The Jazz will change their lineup again and go with Trey Lyles in the frontcourt with Derrick Favors. Lyles is not really a DFS option while Derrick Favors is considered an elite option tonight against the Nuggets. The Jazz will also move Alec Burks back to the bench with Raul Neto starting at PG tonight. The Jazz have lost 7 of their last 10 games and will try to beat a Nuggets team that has a losing record as well.

Kevin Martin is available to play tonight but will not be inserted starting lineup for the Timberwolves. Kevin Garnett will also join Tayshaun Prince in the starting lineup after sitting out the last game. Gorgui Dieng will go back to the bench and will lose his elite punt option status. The Kings give up a lot of fantasy points in general so Dieng is still a solid option with Garnett only playing limited minutes. Prince is not really a DFS option at all and is likely only starting due to his length on Rudy Gay.

Kevin Martin is expected to play tonight but has still not been officially confirmed that he will take his place back into the starting lineup. The Timberwolves face the Kings tonight, Martin’s old team and a team that is interested in trading for him. Martin makes for an interesting low-owned late-swap player in DFS tonight if he does indeed start. Zach LaVine has been playing well lately, and Tayshaun Prince was inserted into the starting lineup last game with Martin out. Both players would take a hit in value with Martin possibly returning.

Raul Neto will be inserted into the starting lineup again tonight against the Denver Nuggets. Burks had started the last game and will likely go back to his bench role for this contest. The Jazz will likely only use Neto to start the game, but Trey Burke is the main player to target tonight against his bench matchup with Randy Foye.

James Johnson has been inserted into the starting lineup tonight with Terrence Ross moving to the bench. Ross played 38 minutes in yesterday’s overtime loss in Charlotte. James Johnson played well in limited action, he had 9 points and 3 rebounds in 13 minutes. Johnson will likely be fresher than Ross against the Heat tonight.
