Derrick Favors sick, questionable for tomorrow
Favors was sent home early from practice today with an illness and is considered questionable to play tomorrow. If Favors is unable to go, Trevor Booker would likely draw the start and would become a very nice punt play across the industry. Gordon Hayward and Rudy Gobert would also see value bumps as a result.

Brandon Bass will play on Tuesday
Bass isn’t a DFS option as long as he’s a secondary option in the Lakers front-court. Byron Scott has said he’s planning on sticking with the same rotation tonight, so Bass should see in the neighborhood of 18-22 minutes. Julius Randle is the top target in the Lakers front-court, as his $5,100 price tag on FanDuel makes him a borderline must-play in cash games.

J.R. Smith has a right knee bruise and quad tendinitis and will miss the Cleveland Cavaliers next two games. This means more playing time for the already thin Cavs back court and probably even more Dellevadova and Mo Williams than we’ve already seen – those two are definitely in play for DFS purposes with Smith out.

Robert Covington questionable for Wednesday
Covington aggravated his injured knee in practice today and is now questionable for the 76ers game on Wednesday. He had a terrible outing yesterday against the Cavaliers. His absence would open up more minutes and perhaps some value for other players on the 76ers – so it’s something to keep an eye on tomorrow as tip off approaches.

It’s still uncertain whether the Pelicans big man will play tonight. Asik is not worth consideration on DFS rosters but his return could have a slight negative impact on other Pelicans players by way of reducing their minutes. It’s something to keep an eye on as roster lock approaches.

The Atlanta Hawks will be starting their normal starters tonight. One player who will not be involved is Thabo Sefolosha as he has been confirmed to be out. This doesn’t have much impact for DFS purposes other than spreading out the few minutes Sefolosha would have played between the other Hawk players.

Amar’e Stoudemire will sit out tonight – this isn’t shocking news as the veteran has only appeared in one game thus far. Chris Anderson will be active but provides no DFS value – he hasn’t appeared in a game yet this season.

Chandler Parsons will be on a minutes restriction and there is no timetable on when the minutes will increase. Rick Carlisle pulled out a three-guard line up against the Lakers with Raymond Felton, Devis Harris, and Deron Williams. Look for him to continue doing that with Wes Matthews also on a minutes restriction.

Kristaps Porzingis injures neck
Kristaps Porzingis went to the locker room in the 4th quarter with a neck injury. The Knicks big man was having his best game as a rookie with 13 points, 14 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. The X-rays were negative on his neck and it was diagnosed as a soft tissue injury.

J.R. Smith has a right knee contusion and is not going to return tonight against the 76ers.

Marcus Thornton will be starting again tonight against the Thunder. Dwight Howard, James Harden, Trevor Ariza, and Ty Lawson will be the other four starters. Thornton is coming off a 21 point game, and will get some open looks due to the attention Dwight Howard requires.

Nikola Pekovic is out while he is still recovering from off-season Achilles surgery, Tyus Jones joins him on the inactive list. Karl Anthony-Town is an elite option tonight against the weak front line of the Blazers. Also, Nemanja Bjelica has been the first big man off the bench for the Wolves in the last two games.

The Bucks will move Jerryd Bayless into the starting lineup tonight to match up with a smaller Nets team, meaning Johnny O’Bryant (who is not DFS relevant) will come off the bench. Bayless is a viable punt play in tournaments, but may be a bit too risky for cash games.

Cameron Payne is active for the Thunder and Steve Novak and Josh Huestis are inactive. These players don’t have much DFS value with the Thunder having so much depth on their roster.

Bucks coach Jason Kidd said Parker will play 15-20 minutes a game as he returns and will likely not suit up for back-to-backs. This will make him impossible to target in DFS, and will also unfortunately eat into the minutes of a few of the other wings. Parker is expected to play against Philly on Wednesday.
