LeSean McCoy not expected to play Sunday
McCoy may end up missing an extended period of time due to a hamstring injury he suffered in practice this week. At the very least, he’ll miss this Sunday’s game against the Dolphins. His absence immediately makes his back up, Mike Gillislee, one of the best value options on the board. Miami has allowed the second-most rushing yards per game this season (147) and they’ll be without safety Reshad Jones for the first time. Miami relied on Jones quite a bit to stop running attacks. Buffalo is running on 49.56% of their offensive plays, the third-most in the NFL. Gillislee will likely lose some snaps to rookie Jonathan Williams, but he should still be locked in for a high volume of touches.

Joe Flacco misses another practice on Thursday
Flacco has missed each of the last two practices, but still does appear to be better than a 50-50 bet to suit up this week. It’s been a strange season for Flacco thus far, as he’s thrown the ball at least 40 times in all but one game, but has surpassed 20 FPs just once and has been held to under 14 in four of six games this season. He’s not a strong DFS play this week even with a beatable Jets secondary coming to town. While New York has allowed the most FPs per attempt to opposing QBs, Flacco simply isn’t getting it done and he may be without Steve Smith again, especially considering the Ravens have a Week 8 bye. You could do much worse in GPPs, but limit your exposure if you’re willing to take that plunge.

Joe Haden doesn't practice Thursday
Haden didn’t play in Week 6 against the Titans due to a groin injury, and he hasn’t practiced at all this week. If he can’t go this weekend, it would be a further boost to A.J. Green, who should be able to dominate the Browns’ secondary. Last week without Haden, the Browns allowed Kendall Wright to pick up eight receptions, 133 yards, and a touchdown even though he only played on 22 snaps. Green has been relatively quiet since torching the Dolphins for 10 receptions, 173 yards, and a score in Week 4, but Cincy has faced tougher opponents. Cleveland’s pass defense is even worse than Miami’s: they’ve allowed more yards per game (285 to 237) and more touchdowns (16 to 9). Green should light them up, especially if Haden can’t play.

It’s the second straight limited practice for Thomas, but it looks like he’ll be able to play Sunday against the Raiders. Last week, the Chiefs laid out a blue print to beat the Raiders defense: run the ball all day. However, that isn’t a strong suit of the Jaguars as neither Chris Ivory or T.J. Yeldon have been effective this season. Fortunately for the Jags, the Raiders rank 28th against the pass in terms of DVOA, per Football Outsiders. Specifically, they rank 26th against tight ends. If Allen Hurns ends up missing the game, look for Thomas to pick up some extra targets Sunday in a nice spot.
Kamar Aiken has limited practice Thurday
He was a full participant yesterday and midweek downgrades are never a great sign. However, at this point it seems like Aiken will be able to play this weekend against the Jets. Although Carson Palmer and his receivers didn’t really take advantage of a poor Jets’ secondary (they didn’t really have to with David Johnson running so well) they’re still a team to pick on. The bigger concern for Aiken is whether Joe Flacco will be able to play, Aiken would take a downgrade if he can’t.

This should put to rest any chance of Matthews missing the Eagles Week 7 tilt with the Vikings. After dropping their last two games, this is a big bounce-back spot for the Eagles and they’ll need Matthews at full strength to have any shot at keeping the Vikings defense at bay. This game is expected to be one of the lowest scoring contests of the weekend and there isn’t much to like from a DFS perspective, but Matthews should at least avoid Xavier Rhodes and Terence Newman when he’s roaming the slot. Captain Munnerlyn isn’t a particularly good draw either, but Matthews will likely be the Eagles best shot at moving the ball through the air.

Palmer strained his hamstring on Monday against the Jets. We’re still expecting him to play as coach Bruce Arians told reporters it was simply a rest day. They face the Seahawks this weekend, which will certainly be a tough one for Palmer. Arizona’s passing game has gone cold the past three weeks; they’ve only scored two touchdowns through the air during that stretch. We’ll have a better sense of Palmer’s status tomorrow.
Odell Beckham ends up getting in limited practice
Updating a previous report. Although OBJ did not participate in the earlier practice session today, he had a limited session later in the day. He’s expected to be fine for Sunday’s game in London against the Rams. Beckham will see a lot of cornerback Troy Hill, who has an abysmal 33.1 grade from Pro Football Focus on the season.

This move was somewhat expected with Eddie Lacy going down but the team has made it official now promoting the rookie RB to the active roster. He should get some workload tonight splitting the RB duties with newly acquired Knile Davis and WR Ty Montgomery and has some merit as a contrarian GPP play if playing the Thursday night slates. Montgomery is the one you want to own though, especially on DraftKings where he is minimum price.

Eddie Lacy needs foot surgery, will be placed on IR
We already knew he was out for tonight’s game and probably longer – that longer period of time has been confirmed as the Packers have placed Lacy on IR as he will undergo foot surgery. For now, the Packers RB situation is a mess, especially with James Starks out.

There was some optimism when Reed practiced (albeit in a non-contact jersey) yesterday but with him missing practice today, his status continues to be in doubt for a plus match up against the Lions this weekend. The same can be said for WR DeSean Jackson who was also not practicing today. We’ll keep an eye on these two and update as necessary. If Reed can’t go, Vernon Davis becomes a viable TE option at his price point across the industry.

Another day and another missed practice for the Lions duo. It seems unlikely they will play this weekend but we’ll know more for certain after tomorrow’s injury report. Golden Tate would be a viable option again if both sit.

The Giants talented WR missed practice again today. Local media doesn’t believe there is reason for concern but it’s worth keeping an eye on as the team travels to London to play early Sunday morning. We’ll update you as more information becomes available.

Hurns was limited on Wednesday so missing today’s practice could be just precautionary leading into the weekend. We’ll know more tomorrow and will update you after the Friday injury report. Marqise Lee would get a bump if Hurns can’t go.

Pryor missed his second straight practice and is questionable at best for their game this week against the Bengals. If he is unable to go, look at Ricardo Louis as a DFS value option as he has seen more targets over recent weeks and the game script should require the Browns to have to throw the ball. We’ll keep you updated on Pryor’s status heading into Sunday’s kickoff.
