Tyler Huntley

Baltimore Ravens
1/07/22, 2:04 PM ET

BAL QB Tyler Huntley will start Sunday

Tyler Huntley will start Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers, likely meaning Lamar Jackson will be ruled out. Jackson has only practiced once over the course of the last four weeks and looks set to miss another game this weekend. With Huntley starting at quarterback, pass-catchers should see a slight increase in expected volume due to Huntley not rushing as much as Jackson (though he will still run). Huntley can be considered in most formats after performing well on multiple occasions filling in for Jackson, though this is a tough matchup against the Pittsburgh defense.

WAS WR Curtis Samuel and TE Ricky Seals-Jones ruled out for Sunday; TE Sammis Reyes questionable

Curtis Samuel and Ricky Seals-Jones have been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the New York Giants, while Sammis Reyes has been listed questionable. With Samuel once again ruled out, Cam Sims and Adam Humphries will continue to play larger roles in the Washington passing attack behind Terry McLaurin. With Seals-Jones ruled out, John Bates will see the bulk of the tight end snaps and could be considered as a value option based on expected volume. Reyes is expected to serve as the backup to Bates and isn’t expected to see enough work to be DFS relevant.

TBB RB Ronald Jones and WR Justin Watson ruled out for Sunday

Ronald Jones and Justin Watson ruled out for Sunday’s matchup against the Carolina Panthers. With Jones officially ruled out, Ke’Shawn Vaughn will likely split the backfield with Le’Veon Bell. Vagughn seems like the more intriguing play as he has broken a couple big plays over the last couple of weeks and also offers receiveing upside out of the backfield. Kenjon Barner will also likely be available to back Bell and Vaughn up but isn’t worth consideration in DFS contests. Vaughn can be considered as a value option this weekend in a matchup where Tampa Bay is expected to be playing with a lead, but there is a concern with how many snaps Bell will siphon from him. Watson was expected to serve as receiver depth so his absence will not be DFS relevant.

CAR WR Robby Anderson (quad) listed questionable for Sunday

CAR WR Robby Anderson (quad) listed questionable for Sunday’s matchup against the Tampa bay Buccaneers. Anderson is dealing with a quad injury and if he were to miss Brandon Zylstra and Alex Erickson could play a much more important role in the Carolina offense behind D.J. Moore. Zylstra would likely enter consideration in DFS contests as a cheap value option based on expected volume. Anderson is expected to be a game-time decision so we will likely not find out his status until inactives are released 90 minutes prior to kickoff.

Elijah Mitchell

New England Patriots
1/06/22, 7:46 PM ET

SFO RB Elijah Mitchell returned to practice Thursday

Elijah Mitchell returned to practice Thursday ahead of the 49ers matchup against the Los Angeles Rams this Sunday. Mitchell was likely given an extra day to rest his knee as has been done in the past. He should be good to go this weekend and ready to lead the San Francisco backfield in what should be an extremely close game. Mitchell should handle the bulk of the work with Jeff Wilson and Deebo Samuel also available to mix in. It will be important to ensure Mitchell’s availability when the injury report is released tomorrow.

Chase Edmonds

Washington Commanders
1/06/22, 7:39 PM ET

ARI RB Chase Edmonds (ribs/toe) DNP Thursday

Chase Edmonds (ribs/toe) logged a DNP Thursday ahead of the Cardinals matchup with the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. James Conner seems to be trending towards a return after missing the last few weeks with a heel injury. If Edmonds is unable to go this weekend, Conner would step back into the lead back role and would need to be considered in DFS contests. Conner has proven how valuable he can be in this role and he draws an incredible matchup against the Seahawks defense this week. It will be important to monitor Edmonds’s listing on the injury report tomorrow as Conner could become an extremely strong play depending on his availability.

Will Dissly

Los Angeles Chargers
1/06/22, 7:21 PM ET

SEA TE Will Dissly (heel) DNP Thursday

Will Dissly (heel) logged a DNP Thursday ahead of the Seahawks matchup against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. Dissly is expected to serve as the primary backup tight end to Gerald Everett but if Dissly were to be ruled out, this role would be filled by Colby Parkinson. Neither Dissly nor Parkinson would be expected to see enough touches behind Everett to be worth considering in DFS contests at this time.

Jakeem Grant

Atlanta Falcons
1/06/22, 5:20 PM ET

CHI WR Jakeem Grant placed on IR

Jakeem Grant has been placed on IR ahead of the Bears matchup against the Minnesota Vikings this Sunday. Grant was expected to serve as receiver depth and play an important role on special teams. In his absence Khalil Herbert will likely handle kick return duties while Dazz Newsome could be elevated to handle punts. Ultimately, Grant’s absence doesn’t figure to be DFS relevant.

Chris Conley

San Francisco 49ers
1/06/22, 5:14 PM ET

HOU WR Chris Conley, WR Chris Moore, and TE Jordan Akins DNP Thursday

Chris Conley, Chris Moore, and Jordan Akins all logged DNPs Thursday ahead of the Texans matchup with the Tennessee Titans. Conley is expected to serve as the third receiver for the Texans and if he were to be ruled out this weekend Danny Amendola would step into his role. Chris Moore is expected to serve as receiver depth and his potential absence would not be DFS relevant. Jordan Akins is expected to serve as tight end depth and his potential absence would also not be DFS relevant.

Lamar Jackson

Baltimore Ravens
1/06/22, 5:24 PM ET

BAL QB Lamar Jackson (ankle) and WR Marquise Brown (ankle) DNP Thursday

Lamar Jackson (ankle) and Marquise Brown (ankle) both logged DNPs Thursday ahead of Baltimore’s matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Jackson has only practiced once over the course of the last four weeks and could be trending towards missing another game this weekend. If Jackson were to miss Tyler Huntley would be slated to start once again for the Ravens. With Huntley at quarterback pass-catchers should see a slight increase in expected volume due to Huntley not rushing as much as Jackson (though he will still run). Huntley can be considered in most formats after performing well on multiple occasions filling in for Jackson, though this is a tough matchup against the Pittsburgh defense. If Brown were to be ruled out, Rashod Bateman and Devin Duvernay would be the top receivers for the Ravens. Bateman would need to be considered in most DFS formats based on expected volume.

Mark Ingram

New Orleans Saints
1/06/22, 5:03 PM ET

NOS RB Mark Ingram (knee) DNP Thursday

Mark Ingram (knee) logged a DNP Thursday ahead of the Saints matchup with the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. Ingram is still dealing with a knee injury that plagued him earlier this season and could be in jeopardy of missing this weekend’s game. If he were to be ruled out, Alvin Kamara would play an even bigger role in the Saints backfield and would have Tony Jones Jr. available to back him up. Kamara and Taysom Hill should both be the focal points of the offense this weekend and Ingram’s potential absence would only strengthen their values. It will be important to check Ingram’s status on the injury report released tomorrow.

Tony Pollard

Tennessee Titans
1/06/22, 4:58 PM ET

DAL RB Tony Pollard (foot) listed questionable for Saturday

Tony Pollard (foot) has been listed as questionable for Saturday’s matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. Pollard is still dealing with the same foot injury that caused him to miss some games earlier in the season and could be at risk of missing another. If he were to be ruled out, Ezekiel Elliott would lead the Dallas backfield and would become a much stronger play with Corey Clement available to back him up. It will be important to monitor Pollard’s status when inactives are released 90 minutes prior to kickoff on Saturday as Elliott could become close to a must play on the Saturday slate.

David Njoku

Cleveland Browns
1/06/22, 4:52 PM ET

CLE TE David Njoku (shoulder) DNP Thursday

David Njoku (shoulder) logged a DNP Thursday ahead of the Browns matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday. Njoku is dealing with a shoulder injury and if he were to be ruled out, Austin Hooper and Harrison Bryant could play a bigger role in the passing attack. Baker Mayfield has already been ruled out for this weekend, so Case Keenum will be under center but this isn’t necessarily a huge downgrade for pass-catchers in the Cleveland offense. Both Hooper and Bryant could be considered for DFS contests in an offense that relies heavily on its tight ends.

Nick Boyle

Baltimore Ravens
1/06/22, 4:47 PM ET

BAL TE Nick Boyle placed on COVID list; FB Patrick Ricard placed on IR

Nick Boyle has been placed on the COVID list and Patrick Ricard has been placed on IR. With Boyle on the COVID list and likely out this weekend, Eric Tomlinson and Josh Oliver will backup Mark Andrews at the tight end position. Neither Tomlinson or Oliver should see enough work to be considered in DFS contests. With Ricard out, Ty’Son Williams will likely be active and serve as the third running back behind Devona Freeman and Latavius Murray.

Michael Carter

Arizona Cardinals
1/06/22, 5:25 PM ET

NYJ RB Michael Carter returned to practice Thursday; WR Braxton Berrios (quad) DNP

Michael Carter returned to practice Thursday, while Braxton Berrios (quad) logged a DNP ahead of the Jets matchup against the Buffalo Bills. There was optimism yesterday surrounding both Berrios and Carter so it’s not surprising that at least one was able to suit up today. If Berrios were to be ruled out, Crowder (expected to return this week) and Keelan Cole would be the top receivers for New York and could be considered in DFS contests as value options. Carter logged a full practice today and should be set to lead the New York backfield Sunday with Tevin Coleman and Ty Johnson available to mix in.
