DEN QB Teddy Bridgewater ruled out for Sunday

Teddy Bridgewater has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Drew Lock will draw the start with Bridgewater dealing with a concussion he suffered this past week. With Lock at quarterback the Broncos pass-catchers will see a very slight downgrade in expected production with Denver likely to lean on its run game this weekend. Both Melvin Gordon and Javonte Williams should see a slight increase in touches and can be considered in a decent matchup against the Las Vegas defense.

Travis Homer

Chicago Bears

SEA RB Travis Homer activated from COVID list

Travis Homer has been activated from the COVID list and should be available to play this Sunday against the Chicago Bears. Homer will likely return to his role in the Seattle backfield as their 3rd or 4th running back, sharing snaps with Rashaad Penny, Alex Collins, DeeJay Dallas, and possibly even Adrian Peterson. As you can see the Seahawks backfield is a log jam with the leading back shifting nearly every week. At this point it is best just to steer clear of the situation.

Jamison Crowder

Washington Commanders
12/24/21, 4:38 PM ET

NYJ WR Jamison Crowder listed doubtful for Sunday

Jamison Crowder has been listed doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The likely loss of Crowder will be a big hit to the New York offense that is already struggling as is. Braxton Berrios and Keelan Cole will become the top receivers and could be considered as value options this weekend, though it is tough to trust any member of the Jets offense at this point.

Baker Mayfield

Tampa Bay Buccaneers
12/24/21, 4:34 PM ET

CLE QB Baker Mayfield and WR Jarvis Landry activated from COVID list

Baker Mayfield and Jarvis Landry have been activated from the COVID list ahead of the Browns matchup with the Green Bay Packers on Saturday. Mayfield will start and can be considered though he does face a tough matchup against the Green Bay secondary. Landry should instantly return to his role as the top receiver for the Browns pushing Donovan Peoples-Jones and Rashard Higgins back down the depth chart. Landry will also be worth consideration in a matchup where Cleveland will likely be forced to throw the ball.

12/24/21, 4:22 PM ET

LAC TE Donald Parham listed out for Sunday

Donald Parham listed out for Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans. With Parham unable to go, Stephen Anderson and Tre’ McKitty would back up Jared Cook. Cook can be considered in a good matchup with touchdown upside and an increase in expected volume.

Lamar Jackson

Baltimore Ravens
12/24/21, 4:13 PM ET

BAL QB Lamar Jackson, QB Tyler Huntley, FB Patrick Ricard listed questionable for Sunday; WR Devin Duvernay listed doubtful; QB Tyler Huntley expected to start Sunday

Lamar Jackson, Tyler Huntley, Patrick Ricard have all been listed questionable for Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals, while Devin Duvernay has been listed doubtful. Right now, Tyler Huntley is expected to start Sunday as he is only said to be dealing with a non-COVID illness. Lamar jackson hasn’t practiced in over two weeks due to an ankle injury and seems highly unlikely to give it a go this Sunday. If both quarterbacks were to be ruled out Josh Johnson would get the start. Huntley would need to be considered in most formats due to his tremendous upside and price. If Duvernay were to be officially ruled out, Sammy Watkins (if activated from COVID list), James Proche, and Tylan Wallace could all play a bigger role in the passing game behind Marquise Brown and Rashod Bateman.

Pat Freiermuth

Pittsburgh Steelers
12/24/21, 3:58 PM ET

TE Pat Freiermuth listed out for Sunday

Pat Freiermuth has been listed out for Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs. With Freiermuth forced to miss this week, Zach Gentry should see the bulk of the tight end snaps with Kevin Rader available to back him up and play in two tight end sets. Gentry can be considered as an unproven value option based on expected volume in an offense that normally uses its tight ends in the passing game.

Jakeem Grant

Atlanta Falcons
12/24/21, 3:46 PM ET

CHI WR Jakeem Grant and QB Andy Dalton listed out Sunday; WR Marquise Goodwin listed questionable; QB Justin Fields listed questionable but will not start, QB Nick Foles to start

Jakeem Grant and Andy Dalton have been listed out Sunday, Marquise Goodwin has been listed questionable, and Justin Fields has been listed questionable but will not start, Nick Foles will start against the Seahawks. With Dalton out and Fields dealing with an ankle injury, Foles will be thrust into the starting role for the Bears. Bears pass-catchers will see a slight increase in expected production due to the fact that Foles is a more traditional passer. With jakeem Grant out, Damiere Byrd could play a larger role in the offense and Dazz Newsome could once again be elevated to help on special teams. Marquise Goodwin seems to be on track to make his return this week but if he were once again to miss the other Bears pass-catchers could see increased volume.

Jake Fromm

Detroit Lions
12/24/21, 3:05 PM ET

NYG QB Jake Fromm expected to start Sunday

Jake Fromm is expected to start Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. This seems like a lateral move but it can’t be much worse than starting Mike Glennon. Fromm offers little to no upside in a tough matchup against a Philadelphia defense that will be hunting him. At this point it is likely best to fade the Giants offense outside of Saquon Barkley.

Kadarius Toney

Cleveland Browns
12/24/21, 3:02 PM ET

NYG WR Kadarius Toney listed questionable for Sunday; RB Gary Brightwell and WR Collin Johnson ruled out

Kadarius Toney has been listed questionable for Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles, while Gary Brightwell and Collin Johnson have been ruled out. Toney could be slated to make his return and would likely be somewhat limited after dealing with COVID as well as an oblique injury. Kenny Golladay and Darius Slayton could play larger roles if this was the case. Johnson and Brightwell both would have served as depth pieces so there absence is not expected to be DFS relevant.

Adam Thielen

Pittsburgh Steelers
12/24/21, 1:54 PM ET

MIN WR Adam Thielen (ankle) and FB C.J. Ham (hamstring) have been listed questionable for Sunday

Adam Thielen (ankle) and C.J. Ham (hamstring) have been listed questionable for Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams. Thielen was close to being able to play last week and was able to practice every day this week so he seems to be trending in the right direction to suit up this weekend. If he were unable to though, it could mean a larger workload for Justin Jefferson and K.J. Osborn as the top two pass-catchers for Kirk Cousins. If Ham were to be ruled out, the Vikings would likely elevate Jake Bargas to fill in at fullback, though he would not be expected to be DFS relevant.

D'Andre Swift

Chicago Bears
12/24/21, 1:45 PM ET

DET RB D'Andre Swift, WR Josh Reynolds, and WR Kalif Raymond listed questionable for Sunday

D’Andre Swift, Josh Reynolds, and Kalif Raymond have all been listed questionable for Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons. D’Andre Swift returned to practice this week and logged a limited session each day which is a good sign for his potential return. Even if he is active though, he will likely be limited and the bulk of the running back snaps could be split between Jamaal Williams and Craig Reynolds. With as many questions as there are with the Detroit backfield it might be best to stay away in DFS contests. With Josh Reynolds and Kalif Raymond both questionable, Amon-Ra St. Brown could be in store for a huge workload though his upside is limited with Tim Botyle likely throwing him passes. There could be some value options available on the Detroit side but with so many question marks surrounding their offense it might be best to look elsewhere.

Antonio Gibson

New England Patriots
12/24/21, 1:38 PM ET

WAS RB Antonio Gibson (toe) and WR Curtis Samuel (hamstring) listed questionable for Sunday

Antonio Gibson (toe) and Curtis Samuel (hamstring) have been listed questionable for Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys. If Gibson were forced to miss Sunday Jaret Patterson would be one of the top plays on the showdown slate due to his price and expected volume filling in for Gibson. It is also likely that Wendell Smallwood be elevated to join the backfield in a role similar to J.D. McKissic’s (placed on IR earlier this week) and could be considered on the showdown slate. If Samuel were to be ruled out Terry McLaurin would remain the top pass-catching option with DeAndre Carter and Adam Humphries expected to play larger roles. It will be important to check Gibson’s status when inactives are released as his availability could drastically alter the showdown slate.

Mike Evans

Tampa Bay Buccaneers
12/24/21, 1:22 PM ET

TBB WR Mike Evans ruled out for Sunday

As expected, Mike Evans has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers. Evans suiting up this weekend seemed like a longshot so it comes as now surprise that he has officially been ruled out. With no Evans, Chris Godwin, or Leonard Fournette the Buccaneers will be rather thin this weekend. Antonio Brown, Rob Gronkowski, and Tyler Johnson should see the bulk of the targets for Tampa Bay and should be considered at their respective price points. With Fournette placed on injured reserve earlier this week Ronald Jones should see the bulk of the carries for Tampa Bay with Ke’Shaugh Vaughn available to back him up. Jones can be considered in all formats.

D.J. Moore

Chicago Bears
12/24/21, 1:10 PM ET

CAR WR D.J. Moore listed questionable for Sunday

D.J. Moore has been listed questionable for Sunday’s game against the Tampa bay Buccaneers. Moore has been able to play through the same injury for the past couple of weeks but seems to have aggravated it this past weekend. If he were to be unable to go, Robbie Anderson, Brandon Zylstra, and Terrace Marshall would likely be forced to step up and play a bigger role in the offense with Anderson expected to be the biggest beneficiary. We likely won’t know Moore’s official status until Sunday when inactives are released as Moore is considered a game-time decision.
