Sterling Shepard

Tampa Bay Buccaneers
12/17/21, 2:41 PM ET

NYG WR Sterling Shepard listed questionable for Sunday; QB Daniel Jones officially ruled out

Sterling Shepard has been listed questionable for Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys, while Daniel Jones has officially been ruled out. As expected, it will be another week of Mike Glennon leading the Giants offense as Daniel Jones is still dealing with a neck injury. Shepard also popped up on the injury report this week with a calf issue. If he were to be ruled out, Kenny Golladay and Darius Slayton would be the top receiving options for the Giants with Kadarius Toney still on the COVID list. It remains difficult to roster any New York pass-catchers with Glennon at the helm, especially in a tough matchup against the Dallas defense.

Damien Harris

Buffalo Bills
12/17/21, 1:34 PM ET

NEP RB Damien Harris ruled out for Saturday

Damien Harris has been ruled out for Saturday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts. Harris was originally listed as questionable for this weekend but has been downgraded to out, setting up a large workload for Rhamondre Stevenson. Stevenson will likely be one of the top running back options on the Saturday slate now, offering a safe floor at a bit of a discount. Brandon Bolden is available and should handle the bulk of the passing down work with Devine Ozigbo a potential practice squad elevation as another option to back Stevenson up. Stevenson has excelled in his previous performances as the lead back and will have another opportunity here in what should be a competitive game.

Terry McLaurin

Washington Commanders
12/17/21, 1:21 PM ET

WAS WR Terry McLaurin and RB J.D. McKissic listed questionable for Sunday; WR Curtis Samuel ruled out

Terry McLaurin and J.D. McKissic have been listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles, while Curtis Samuel has been ruled out. With Samuel ruled out, DeAndre Carter and Adam Humphries should play a larger role in the offense behind Terry McLaurin (who HC Ron Rivera has said he is highly optimistic of to play). Both Humphries and Carter are not likely to see enough work to be considered in DFS contests and especially with Kyle Shurmur expected to start at quarterback at this time. McKissic if available should return to his normal role splitting time with Antonio Gibson and seeing the bulk of the passing down work. If he were to be unavailable, Gibson would be one of the better plays on the slate due to expected volume with Jaret Patterson available to back him up. It will be important to check inactives 90 minutes before kickoff to see if McLaurin and McKissic will be available.

D.J. Moore

Chicago Bears
12/17/21, 1:06 PM ET

CAR WR D.J. Moore (hamstring) listed questionable for Sunday

D.J. Moore (hamstring) has been listed questionable for Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills. Moore was able to log limited practices all week but still remains on the final injury report due to the hamstring injury he suffered in last weeks game. If Moore were forced to miss, Robbie Anderson would assume the top receiver role with Brandon Zylstra and Terrace Marshall also likely to see more snaps and targets. Anderson would need to be considered in DFS contests due to expected volume in a game the Panthers figure to be playing from behind. It will be important to check inactives 90 minutes before kickoff to see if Moore will be available.

Myles Gaskin

Seattle Seahawks
12/17/21, 12:22 PM ET

MIA RB Myles Gaskin and RB Salvon Ahmed both activated from COVID list, on track to play Sunday

Myles Gaskin and Salvon Ahmed have both been activated from the COVID list and are on track to play Sunday against the New York Jets. Gaskin and Ahmed will both get one practice in before the game this weekend, helping to make the case for Gaskin and Ahmed to return to their normal roles in the offense. Gaskin should lead the backfield and could have a massive game against the worst defense in the league against opposing running backs. Ahmed should be his primary back up with Patrick Laird and Duke Johnson (practice squad) also available. Gaskin can be considered in most formats though there is some risk after only being cleared to resume football activities two days prior to Sunday’s game.

Josh Allen

Buffalo Bills
12/17/21, 11:12 AM ET

BUF QB Josh Allen (foot) will start Sunday

As expected, Josh Allen will start Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers despite dealing with a foot injury this week. Allen was always likely to suit up this weekend but HC Sean McDermott confirmed this on Friday in a radio interview. Allen could be a little limited in his rushing ability but still should be considered as one of the elite DFS quarterbacks in the league. The Bills could elect to rely more on their backs to get involved in the run game giving them a slight boost, but not enough to be considered in DFS contests as they are still in a timeshare.

Carlos Hyde

Jacksonville Jaguars
12/17/21, 11:02 AM ET

JAC RB Carlos Hyde ruled out for Sunday

Carlos Hyde has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans. With Hyde ruled out, James Robinson will see the bulk of the running back work with Dare Ogunbowale available to back him up. This seems like it will be a great spot for Robinson with the Jaguars favored by 5.5 points and Urban Meyer out as head coach. Robinson can be considered in most lineups this weekend.

Taylor Heinicke

Los Angeles Chargers
12/17/21, 10:52 AM ET

WAS QB Taylor Heinicke to be placed on COVID list; QB Kyle Allen already on list; QB Garrett Gilbert in line to start Sunday UPDATE: Kyle Shurmur expected to start

Taylor Heinicke is expected to be placed on COVID list after testing positive for COVID joining backup Kyle Allen who is already on the list. There have been conflicting reports that either Garrett Gilbert or Kyle Shurmur will start Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. Either way, it will be a significant downgrade at quarterback for the Washington Football Team. All pass-catchers will receive a significant downgrade and will be tough to consider in DFS contests.

Austin Ekeler

Washington Commanders
12/16/21, 7:11 PM ET

LAC RB Austin Ekeler officially active Thursday; RB Larry Rountree inactive

Austin Ekeler is officially active Thursday against the Chiefs, while Larry Rountree is listed inactive. Ekeler will give it a go against the Chiefs in an important divisional matchup against KC but could cede some touches to the other Chargers backs, Justin Jackson and Joshua Kelley. Ekeler will still likely see the bulk of the high leverage carries and targets but could have some of his upside cut into as he is still dealing with an injury suffered on Sunday. Ekeler can still be considered in most lineups, but expectations need to be tempered.

Adam Thielen

Pittsburgh Steelers
12/16/21, 8:05 PM ET

MIN WR Adam Thielen DNP Thursday

Adam Thielen logged a DNP Thursday while HC Mike Zimmer remains hopeful he will be able to suit up this Monday against the Chicago Bears. The Vikings are extremely thin at receiver due to COVID and could really use Thielen in an important matchup against the Bears. If Thielen were unable to go, Justin Jefferson should see as many targets as he can handle with K.J. Osborn and Ihmir Smith-Marsette also available. There would likely be a few practice squad elevations to help with receiver depth but we might not know those until Monday. It will be important to monitor Thielen’s practice status the rest of the week as he would likely need at least one limited practice by Saturday to have a chance to play.

Daurice Fountain

Detroit Lions
12/16/21, 7:59 PM ET

KCC WR Daurice Fountain elevated from practice squad for Thursday

Daurice Fountain has been elevated from the practice squad for Thursday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Fountain is expected to serve as receiver depth and should not be considered DFS relevant.

Case Keenum

Chicago Bears
12/16/21, 7:51 PM ET

CLE QB Case Keenum placed on COVID list, QB Nick Mullens in line to start Saturday

Case Keenum has been placed on the COVID list and Nick Mullens is now in line to start Saturday against the Las Vegas Raiders. The Browns are now down to their third string quarterback and are shorthanded across the board with 21 layers (at the time of writing) currently on the COVID list. Aside from Nick Chubb and Donovan Peoples-Jones it is probably best to avoid the Browns offense on Saturday.

Carlos Hyde

Jacksonville Jaguars
12/16/21, 7:55 PM ET

JAC RB Carlos Hyde DNP Thursday

Carlos Hyde logged a DNP Thursday ahead of Jacksonville’s matchup with the Houston Texans. If Hyde were to be ruled out, James Robinson would see the bulk of the running back work with Dare Ogunbowale available to back him up. This seems like it could be a great spot for Robinson with the Jaguars favored by 5 points and Urban Meyer out as HC. It will be important to monitor Hyde’s practice status as the week progresses but this might be a week to consider Robinson.
