MIN RB Kene Nwangwu (illness) now questionable for Sunday; FB Jake Bargas elevated from practice squad
Kene Nwangwu (illness) is now questionable for Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions and Jake Bargas has been elevated from the practice squad. Nwangwu was expected to serve as the backup running back for the Vikings behind Alexander Mattison and if he were to be absent CJ Ham and the just elevated Jake Bargas would be the only other options available in the backfield. This would likely mean Mattison (who is already expected to see a tremendous workload) would see nearly all of the running back snaps making him an even stronger play. It is also worth noting that Nwangwu plays a role on special teams as a returner and this position would also need to be filled if absent.
As reported by: Minnesota Vikings Other tagged players: Jake BargasWAS WR Curtis Samuel expected to play Sunday
Curtis Samuel (listed questionable) is expected to play Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders. Samuel returned last game in a limited role after dealing with a leg injury and seems to be doing well enough to suit up again this week. Samuel should play a slightly larger role and projects to be wide receiver three for Washington. He can be considered as a contrarian value play in DFS contests but there are likely better options available with a more secure role.
As reported by: Jeremy FowlerCIN RB Trayveon Williams signed to active roster; WR Pooka Williams elevated from practice squad for Sunday; WR Auden Tate placed on IR
Trayveon Williams has been signed to the active roster while Pooka Williams has been elevated from the practice squad for Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Trayveon Williams is expected to serve as the third running back behind Joe Mixon and Samaje Perine. Pooka Williams is expected to serve as receiver depth with Mike Thomas being listed doubtful and Auden Tate being placed on IR. Neither Trayveon or Pooka is expected to be DFS relevant.
As reported by: Cincinnati Bengals Other tagged players: Pooka Williams, Auden TateLAR RB Mekhi Sargent and WR Brandon Powell elevated from practice squad for Sunday
Mekhi Sargent and Brandon Powell have been elevated from the practice squad for Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Sargent isn’t expected to play much of a role unless Darrell Henderson (currently questionable) is unable to play. If this were to be the case Sargent would be the primary backup to Sony Michel and would likely still not be DFS relevant. Powell is expected to serve as receiver depth and possibly on special teams and doesn’t figure to be DFS relevant either.
As reported by: Los Angeles Rams Other tagged players: Brandon PowellWAS RB Wendell Smallwood elevated from practice squad for Sunday
As expected following J.D. McKissic being ruled out yesterday, Wendell Smallwood has been elevated from the practice squad for Sunday’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders. McKissic’s absence will likely lead to more work for Antonio Gibson and Jaret Patterson while HC Ron Rivera also mentioned the possibility of Wendell Smallwood playing a role on third downs to help supplement the loss of McKissic in the passing game. Gibson is likely to be the biggest beneficiary and should be considered in most lineups as this could be a breakout week for him. It sounds like Smallwood will play a role this weekend but not likely large enough of one to be considered in DFS contests.
As reported by: Washington Football TeamSEA RB Adrian Peterson will be elevated from practice squad for Sunday
Adrian Peterson will be elevated from practice squad for Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers. It will be interesting to see how much of a role Peterson plays in a crowded backfield. The Seahawks currently have four running backs on their active roster though three are listed questionable for tomorrow’s game. Regardless of who is active it will be best to avoid playing the Seattle backfield in DFS contests until roles become more defined.
As reported by: Jeremy FowlerSFO WR Deebo Samuel and RB Trey Sermon listed out for Sunday
Deebo Samuel and Trey Sermon have officially been listed out for Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks. Samuel is expected to miss a week or two meaning Brandon Aiyuk should be the top receiver for the 49ers and will likely see a few more targets increasing his expected production. Eli Mitchell should remain the top back in the backfield with Jeff Wilson and the returning JaMycal Hasty available to back him up. Mitchell will remain a good DFS option especially in a matchup where San Francisco figures to be playing with a lead.
As reported by: Matt Maiocco Other tagged players: Trey SermonLVR TE Darren Waller listed doubtful for Sunday; RB Josh Jacobs and WR DeSean Jackson listed questionable
Darren Waller has been listed doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Washington Football Team while Josh Jacobs and DeSean Jackson have been listed questionable. With Waller likely out, Foster Moreau is the next man up. Moreau had a successful outing last time Waller was absent catching all 6 of his targets for 60 yards and a touchdown. He will need to be considered in most formats as he comes at a discount and plays in an offense that normally relies on its tight end as its best pass catcher. Jackson’s calf injury is not expected to be significant and he should remain in his normal role Sunday as the Raiders burner and space creating wide receiver. Jacobs injury is also not expected to be serious but if he were to miss or be limited Kenyan Drake would likely lead the backfield with both Jalen Richard and Peyton barber also playing a role. It will be important to check back when inactives are released 90 minutes prior to kickoff to confirm each player’s availability.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire listed questionable for Sunday night’s game against the Denver Broncos but is expected to play according to HC Andy Reid. CEH is expected to continue splitting time with Darrel Williams in the Kansas City backfield with CEH seeing most of the early down work and Williams playing a role in the passing game. Both backs can be considered for the showdown slate but with CEH battling an illness this week he could be limited.
As reported by: Troy RenckSEA RB Alex Collins, RB Rashaad Penny, and RB Travis Homer listed questionable for Sunday
Alex Collins, Rashaad Penny, and Travis Homer have all been listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers. It could be a crowded backfield for the Seahawks or it could be desolate with the only back not currently listed on the in jury report being DeeJay Dallas (and the newly signed member of the practice squad Adrian Peterson). Collins would be expected to lead the backfield with all other member splitting snaps behind him. Until a clearer picture emerges it is best to steer clear of the Seattle backfield.
As reported by: John Boyle Other tagged players: Rashaad Penny, Travis HomerHOU WR Brandin Cooks, WR Chris Conley, and RB David Johnson all listed questionable for Sunday
Brandin Cooks, Chris Conley, and David Johnson all listed questionable for Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts. There is a non-COVID illness going around the Texans locker room leading to practice being cancelled earlier in the week. Cooks is the biggest name here for the Texans and would be a huge loss if he were unable to suit up this week. Nico Collins would serve as the top receiver and would need to be considered as a value option in most formats. Conley is expected to serve as the third receiver but his absence could also benefit Collins. If David Johnson were to miss, the backfield would be split between Rex Burkhead and Royce Freeman, with Burkhead being the better play. It will be important to monitor all three player’s game statuses when inactives are announced 90 minutes prior to kickoff.
As reported by: Houston Texans PR Other tagged players: Chris Conley, David JohnsonNYJ WR Corey Davis listed questionable for Sunday; TE Trevon Wesco listed doubtful
Corey Davis has been listed questionable for Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles while Trevon Wesco has been listed doubtful. Davis is still working his way back from a hip injury he suffered last week in practice. If he were unable to play, Elijah Moore and Jamison Crowder would see an uptick in expected production and become better plays. If Wesco were unable to suit up which looks to be the most likely outcome, Ryan Griffin would be the primary tight end with Kenny Yeboah available to back him up.
As reported by: Adam Caplan Other tagged players: Trevon WescoMIA RB Phillip Lindsay and TE Adam Shaheen listed doubtful for Sunday
Phillip Lindsay and Adam Shaheen have been listed doubtful for Sunday’s game against the New York Giants. If Lindsay were to be officially ruled out Myles Gaskin should lead the backfield with both Salvon Ahmed and Patrick Laird available to back him up. Gaskin would be a good play in a game that the Dolphins are expecting to be leading and should be the featured back. With Shaheen likely to miss Mike Gesicki will be the primary tight end with Durham Smythe and Hunter Long available to back him up.
As reported by: Adam Caplan Other tagged players: Adam ShaheenIND TE Jack Doyle listed questionable for Sunday
Jack Doyle has been listed questionable for Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans. Jack Doyle returned to practice earlier in the week and looks to be trending in the right direction to suit up this weekend. Doyle should split time with Mo Alie-Cox at tight end and isn’t expected to be a top play at the position despite an easy matchup.
As reported by: Indianapolis ColtsCIN WR Auden Tate, WR Mike Thomas, and RB Chris Evans listed doubtful for Sunday
Auden Tate, Mike Thomas, and Chris Evans have been listed doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Tate, Thomas, and Evans are all not expected to play major roles on Sunday and their presence or absence should not be DFS relevant. This is a game that should be targeted by DFS players though as it features two explosive offenses and will likely be high scoring.
