Vance McDonald (Shoulder) Inactive Monday Night
The Steelers had not yet ruled McDonald out, but he was considered doubtful coming into Week 4. With him inactive, Nick Vannett and Zach Gentry are the only active Steelers TE’s. Vannett was acquired last week and will be making his debut with the Steelers. Gentry played Week 3 but didn’t receive any targets. Both are risky options but in play for the Monday night showdown slate.

Hockenson is in the concussion protocol to start the week, but his shoulder does not appear to be hurt. His status for Week 5 should still be considered doubtful.
As reported by: Kyle MeinkeJosh Allen in Concussion Protocol
Allen is currently in the concussion protocol, putting his Week 5 status in doubt. If he can’t go, Matt Barkley will be the QB for the Bills. Allen has been one of the most productive rushing QB’s in the NFL, with 11 TD’s rushing in 16 games, but it does open him up to more hits. Barkley went 9-16 passing for 127 yards with 1 pick in relief of Allen on Sunday, so there is likely little fantasy value if he plays.
As reported by: Joe Buscaglia Other tagged players: Matt BarkleyChristian Kirk (Ankle) Status Unknown Week 5
Kirk is dealing with an ankle injury of unknown severity. He suffered the injury Sunday and the Cardinals are expected to release an update on his status Wednesday. There is some early speculation that the injury could be serious.
As reported by: Scott BordowDavante Adams (Toe) Injury Status "Day-by-Day"
Adams suffered a turf toe injury in the Packers’ Week 4 game last Thursday. Recovery time on turf toe injuries can vary greatly, so it can be considered a positive sign that he isn’t ruled out Week 5 already. Look for further updates later this week, in particular when the first injury report is released Wednesday.
As reported by: Matt SchneidmanJamaal Williams (Head) Does Not Practice Monday
Williams suffered the injury last Thursday on a rough hit, and he had to spend the night in the hospital. We won’t have an official injury report until Wednesday, but he should be considered doubtful at best for Week 5.
As reported by: Green Bay PackersRashaad Penny (Hamstring) Expected to Play Thursday Night
Pete Carroll was similarly optimistic about Penny playing last week, so it isn’t guaranteed that Penny plays Thursday night. If he does play, it will cut into the touches for Chris Carson and push C.J. Prosise to the 3rd RB role.

Landry suffered the injury Week 4 and has been confirmed to be in the concussion protocol. Concussion recovery time varies significantly, so his progress will need to be monitored. Landry had his best game of the season Week 4, catching 8 passes for 167 yards.
As reported by: Jake TrotterSam Darnold (Mono) Cleared For Non-Contact Drills, Week 5 Status Unknown
Darnold has been cleared for non-contact work this week. His status is still unknown, but it is doubtful the Jets rush Darnold back, especially with the risk on internal injuries due to his mono and the team already sitting at 0-3. Luke Falk would continue to start in Darnold’s place as needed.

Hockenson was injured Week 5. We haven’t gotten a significant update, with Adam Schefter simply reporting that Hockenson won’t go on IR. Look for a better update on the Wednesday injury report. Hockenson has cooled off, with 5 catches for 35 yards total for the last three weeks, compared to 6 catches for 131 yards Week 1. Jesse James and Logan Thomas would see increased usage if Hockenson is out.

As expected, Newton will not be back for Week 5 and Kyle Allen will remain the starter. Newton could miss several additional weeks, but we’re unlikely to have anything confirmed more than a week in advance.

Watson will return from his four game suspension Week 5. The Patriots have shifted their offense away from TE’s this year, meaning there is a limited upside for Watson.

Callaway has also been working back from an ankle injury, but he is expected to be healthy and ready to return. He will look to displace Damion Ratley as the third WR option.

Burfict was suspended for the rest of the season as the result of a hit on Jack Doyle on Sunday. He has a long history of suspensions and fines in the NFL, which is why the punishment is so harsh. He is expected to appeal the ruling in the next couple days. Doyle was still able to finish the game Sunday, meaning he shouldn’t miss any time.
