Matthew Stafford

Lions QB Matthew Stafford (Hip) Expected to Play Vs. Chiefs

Stafford (hip) never seemed to be in real danger of missing this game despite being officially listed as questionable. As expected, he will square off vs. the Chiefs at home.

The veteran signal-caller is very cheap and a top point-per-dollar QB on most sites. Because this game also has the highest implied total of the weekend (53.5) by a significant margin, Stafford is a very intriguing tournament option. While the Lions efficient offense will look to establish the run early to keep the baby GOAT on the sidelines, Stafford could be forced into a lot of pass attempts if his team fails to do so.

Redskins Plan to Start Case Keenum, Colt McCoy Inactive

As expected, Case Keenum will start today’s game against the Giants, while rookie Dwayne Haskins will serve as his backup. Keenum has a fantastic matchup today, as the Giants are near the bottom of the league in fantasy points allowed to QBs. Because Washington’s rushing attack has been so ineffective in 2019, Keenum could have to air it out often again. This game has shootout potential and the third-highest implied total on the main slate.

Chargers WR Travis Benjamin (Hip) Out Against Dolphins

As expected, Benjamin will be on the sidelines today along with teammate Mike Williams. Look for Dontrelle Inman and Andre Patton, who are near minimum-price across the industry, to see expanded roles against a horrendous Dolphins defense.

Redskins WR Terry McLaurin (Hamstring) is a Game-Time Decision, Team is Optimistic He Plays

McLaurin will likely take the field against the Giants Sunday after tweaking his hamstring in practice on Thursday. The Redskins initially labelled him questionable as a precautionary measure, according to the team.

“Scary Terry” is the first rookie to record at least five receptions and a touchdown in his first three games in the NFL. He gets an incredible matchup against the Giants, who have allowed the second-most adjusted fantasy points to wide receivers. McLaurin is a cash-game viable on DK at just $4,500 and is similarly underpriced across most sites. He could see a lot of volume in a potential shootout with Danny Dimes and the New York Giants.

Jaguars CB Jalen Ramsey (Back) "not a Sure Thing to Play Against the Broncos"

Ramsey is in danger of missing his first NFL game due to his back injury and contract dispute. Courtland Sutton and Joe Flacco would become better plays in afternoon-only contests should Ramsey decide to sit.

Chargers RB Melvin Gordon to be "Only Used in an Emergency"

MGIII will be active but is expected to be used only for an emergency. Austin Ekeler should get at least the same workload he has been seeing to start the 2019 season with backup RB Justin Jackson out.

Rex Burkhead

Houston Texans
9/29/19, 7:35 AM ET

Patriots RB Rex Burkhead (Foot) is a Game-Time Decision

Burkhead will test his foot out in pregame warmups to see if he can suit up. He easily paid off his price tag last week, taking on an expanded role due to James White’s surprise absence. With White back in the fold, Burkhead isn’t a good DFS option today even if he plays, as he would be in a crowded backfield against a tough divisional opponent.

Marquise Brown

Philadelphia Eagles
9/29/19, 7:31 AM ET

Browns CBs Denzel Ward (Hamstring) and Greedy Williams (Hamstring) Expected to be Out Today

The Browns’ top two corners will miss a second straight week, which will be a big boost to the Ravens pass catchers. Marquise Brown in particular is an excellent buy-low candidate today – he burned fantasy owners last weekend with just two catches for 49 yards despite seeing nine targets. “Hollywood” Brown is priced cheaply on most sites and is viable in all formats vs. the Browns.

Bears DT Akiem Hicks is a Game-Time Decision for Sunday Vs. Vikings

Hicks is one of the elite run-stuffers in the NFL. If he is unable to go due to the ailment he suffered against the Redskins, Vikings RB Dalvin Cook becomes a stronger contrarian GPP play against a tough Bears defense .

Chargers Activate RB Melvin Gordon to Active Roster

Steelers TE Vance McDonald (Shoulder) Doubtful for Monday Night

With McDonald out and fellow TE Xavier Grimble on IR, the newly acquired Nick Vannett returns to fantasy relevance. Though Vannett just joined the Steelers, the ex-Seahawk may see virtually no competition for snaps at the tight end position on Monday Night Football. He is a viable min-priced option on smaller slates and Showdown contests against a Bengals team that ranks 24th in pass DVOA on defense.

Melvin Gordon

Baltimore Ravens
9/28/19, 2:39 PM ET

Chargers Plan to Play Melvin Gordon on Limited Snap Count Tomorrow

This is some of the biggest news for this weekend’s slate, period. Head Coach Anthony Lynn previously hinted that Gordon could suit up because of the slew of injuries the Chargers are dealing with on the offensive side of the ball, despite the fact that Gordon ended his holdout on Thursday.

Austin Ekeler is in a perceived smash spot yet again and has one of the highest ownership projections of any running back across the industry, but all of that could change depending on MGIII’s usage. Expect more details to follow and check our alerts for crucial updates on this situation.
