Odell Beckham Not Likely to Practice
Pat Shurmur not expecting Odell Beckham Jr. (quad) or Alec Ogletree (concussion) to return to practice Thursday. It feels like a foregone conclusion that Beckham will not suit up in the meaningless season finale this week.

Per Saints beat Nick Underhill, Drew Brees said Teddy Bridgewater will play on Sunday, just doesn’t know how much. This basically makes Brees unplayable given that the Saints don’t have a real reason to push him and probably should give their starters a rest. Unless Bridgewater starts the game, it’ll also be tough to have heavy interest in him, although he’ll step firmly onto the radar in the event that he starts and is expected to play the large majority of the game. It’s also possible he cedes some snaps to Taysom Hill, but Hill had already been a part of the offensive game plan with Brees under center. The Saints other skill-position players will also be difficult to trust unless we get more clarity on the expected playing time.

Gerald Everett has been playing an increased role in the Rams offense recently, seeing at least six targets in each of the past three weeks, and even added two rushing attempts in last week’s game. With 14 receptions and 119 total yards in his past three games, Everett is a cheap way to get a piece of the Rams offense, and his appeal could be increased if running back Todd Gurley misses this week’s game.
This Receiving RB Could Rack Up Targets This Sunday
Jalen Richard has been an under-the-radar play as the receiving running back on the Raiders that can tally up the receptions when Oakland is trailing. That could be the case quickly on Sunday with the Raiders almost two-touchdown underdogs facing the Chiefs explosive offense in Kansas City. Richard is eighth among all running backs with 79 targets this season, and he has 66 receptions which ranks seventh among RBs. Still value priced across DFS sites, Richard is a cheap roster piece with upside this Sunday.
QB Kyle Allen will start for Panthers in Week 17
With Taylor Heinicke now on IR, the Panthers will move on to their No.3 QB for Sunday’s season finale. Though min-priced across sites, Allen will have a challenging first start to his career on the road in the New Orleans against an upper echelon defense.
As reported by: Steve ReedWR DeSean Jackson not practicing Wednesday
The veteran wideout tweaked a foot injury in Sunday’s loss to the Cowboys resulting in more playing time for Chris Godwin, who would stand to benefit the most from a full complement of snaps in Week 17’s second highest total game between the Bucs and Falcons. The second-year receiver would be underpriced for that role on both FanDuel and DraftKings if Jackson sits.
As reported by: Eduardo Encina Other tagged players: Chris GodwinWR Marquise Goodwin (calf) not practicing Wednesday
With fellow wideout Dante Pettis already ruled out, TE George Kittle and WR Kendrick Bourne could see an uptick in targets. Kittle already saw 12 targets in Week 16 with both Pettis and Goodwin playing.
As reported by: Chris Biderman Other tagged players: George Kittle, Kendrick BourneRB Lamar Miller (ankle) practicing Wednesday
Miller’s on track to return to his lead role in Week 17 after fellow backs Alfred Blue and D’Onta Foreman were terribly unproductive in Week 16, combining for 13 yards on 11 carries. However, there’s a chance he could be limited given the ankle injury and the matchup isn’t the most inviting against a respectable Jaguars run defense.
As reported by: Aaron WilsonContingent of Packers pass-catchers not practicing Wednesday
Interim Head Coach Joe Philbin has reiterated that “if players are healthy they’re playing” in Week 17. Cobb’s playing status appears most in doubt after failing to suit up in Week 16 due to a concussion. With nothing to play for, it won’t be surprising to see the Packers sit their veteran wideout for the season finale. Adams (undisclosed injury), Graham, and St. Brown are likely getting in rest days but the Packers’ practice report later in the week will need to be monitored to confirm their availability for Sunday.
As reported by: Josh Tolentino Other tagged players: Davante Adams, Jimmy Graham, Equanimeous St. BrownTE Eric Ebron not practicing Wednesday; Still in concussion protocol
Mo Alie-Cox took over at tight end after Ebron was knocked out in Week 16. However, he didn’t record a catch while wideouts Chester Rogers and Zach Pascal both saw an increase in targets. The Colts have also re-signed Erik Swoope to their practice squad as insurance so Ebron may be truly questionable for Sunday’s essential playoff game against the Titans. Late week practice reports should shed light on whether the Colts’ new Pro-Bowl tight end will suit up in Week 17 or whether the offense will have to rely more on ancillary pieces.
As reported by: Zak KeeferQB Blake Bortles will start in season finale Sunday
With Cody Kessler having been equally as bad as a replacement, Bortles will get to close the season but has a daunting matchup on the road at Houston where the Jaguars are projected for 16 points. That said, he’s only $4,400 on DraftKings for Week 17 and always carries some rushing upside.
As reported by: Daniel PopperBlake Bortles likely to start finale at Texans
Jaguars players make it sound like QB Blake Bortles will start finale at Texans. With not much running game to lean on and a Texans defense that funnels towards the pass, Bortles may be a sleeper option in the finale.
As reported by: Mark Long TwitterOdell Beckham not expected to practice
Odell Beckham (calf) not expected to practice, per coach Pat Shurmur. There is nothing to play for here in Week 17 for New York, so it would be a bit of a shock to see Odell out there. Sterling Shepard, Evan Engram and Saquon Barkley all stand to gain from a Beckham absence.
As reported by: Jordan Raanan TwitterQB Taylor Heinicke (elbow) has been placed on IR, Allen to Start
QB Taylor Heinicke (elbow) has been placed on IR so it appears Kyle Allen will get the start in the season finale for the Panthers. In a brief relief appearance Sunday, Allen completed 4 of 4 passes. He is a low end DFS option this week and it would be better to play the defense against him rather than roster Kyle Allen.
As reported by: Max Henson TwitterLeonard Fournette (ankle/foot) not practicing today.
Jaguars Wednesday injury report: K Josh Lambo (right groin), RB A.J. Bouye (toe), RB Leonard Fournette (ankle/foot), OT Josh Wells (concussion). Leonard Fournette (ankle/foot) not practicing today. With nothing to play for on the Jacksonville side, we will see if the run Fournette out there this week. Whomever gets the nod at RB for the Jags is a very low option in DFS this week.
