Odell Beckham not at practice.

Odell wasn’t at practice today according to a beat writer close to the situation. It is believed that he will play but we won’t know for sure until he practices fully or the inactives list comes out on Sunday.

Melvin Gordon Unlikely to Play Thursday

The Chargers are promoting RB Troymaine Pope from the practice squad for tonight’s game against the Chiefs. This is a sign that Melvin Gordon won’t be active for tonight’s game against the Chiefs. We will have concrete news when actives come out, so stay tuned.

Vernon Davis

The Best Spend Down TE

There are not a whole lot of guys to spend down at the TE position like there have been in the past, but with Reed unlikely to play this week, Davis could be in for a decent workload. With Jordan Reed out last year, Davis had over 10 DK points four times in nine games, and with a new QB in the offense and not a whole lot of great weapons, he could be relied on heavily in the passing game here. It wouldn’t surprise me to see him with 15+ DK points in this matchup against a JAX team that is ranked 7th overall in pass DVOA yet is middle of the pack against the TE spot.

Kenneth Dixon

New York Jets
12/14/18, 11:01 AM ET

Cheap RB Who May Have an Increased Workload

Look, this is purely a speculative GPP play here, but Dixon has 16 carries and 2 receptions in the last 2 weeks, and it sounds like they are going to get him more involved this week. TB has been a defense who we have targeted this year in the pass game (28th DVOA), but they’ve been even worse in the run game this year (30th DVOA). In TB’s last 2 losses, teams have averaged 30 rush attempts against and this week the Ravens are favored by 7.5 points. With not a whole lot of RB value this weekend, Dixon could be the one guy with the potential to get above 15 points and allow you to pay up for one or two high priced RBs.

Jeff Driskel

Washington Commanders
12/14/18, 11:02 AM ET

Cheap QB with Unknown Upside

So, looking at Driskel’s stats, he doesn’t pop off the page as somebody who you want to roster. So far in two starts, he has averaged 203 yards passing and 1 TD, but those were against two of the best pass defenses in the league (Den No. 2 DVOA and LAC No. 10 DVOA). This week, he draws a matchup against Oakland, who ranks dead last in the league in pass DVOA and, Vegas has them at an implied 24.5 points right now in what should be a close game. Driskel performed well in the second half of his first matchup against CLE (155 yards and a pass and rush TD) and could be in line for a good week here too. Don’t sleep on him just beause of his game log when he’s only $5.1K on DK and $1 over the minimum salary over on Yahoo.

Jordy Nelson

Las Vegas Raiders
12/14/18, 11:03 AM ET

Old Guy Still Has It

While a few weeks ago the Raiders looked like they had all but given up on the season, the last two weeks they have put up some great performances against two of the best teams in the league (upsetting the Steelers and almost doing the same against KC). During that span, Nelson has racked up 16 receptions, 18 targets, and 145 yards. While he is far from a great WR at this point in his career, he is the top WR option in this offense and is facing a Cincy defense that ranks 27th in pass DVOA and is middle of the pack against WR1s. For only $4.2K on DK and near min priced on Yahoo, Jordy offers you a decent floor and GPP-winning upside if he can get into the end zone.

Jaylen Samuels

Arizona Cardinals
12/14/18, 11:03 AM ET

Still Underpriced RB

While the last 2 weeks we have been lucky (or unlucky depending on your point of view) to have some easy standout value at RB, this week there isn’t really any cut and dry options at RB in the cheap tier. While Samuel got a bit of a price bump on each of the major sites, it was not nearly enough to compensate for his productivity and workload. We all know by now that Samuel’s is a good receiving back, but now also know that he is going to get the majority of the workload. Last week, Samuel’s got 7 receptions and targets to Ridley’s 0, and 11 carries to Ridley’s 5. If Conner is unable to go this weekend (which looks very likely at the moment), Samuel becomes a great play on DK, FDraft, FD, and Yahoo. Keep an eye on Conner’s status as the week goes along.

Jimmy Graham doesn't practice Wednesday; Randall Cobb limited

Jimmy Graham doesn’t practice Wednesday. He still seems likely to suit up, although with the Packers quickly fading out of contention, it’s possible they ease up on him towards the end of the season. Randall Cobb got in a limited practice and should be good to go come Sunday. Despite him having his most productive outing in a few weeks this past Sunday, he’s still off the DFS radar with Marquez Valdes-Scantling continuing to eat into the ancillary targets behind Davante Adams.

Tyreek Hill

Tyreek Hill (heel) will play Thursday night

Hill is still technically listed as questionable, but according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, he will play in Thursday night’s matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers despite dealing with minor heel and wrist injuries/ Head coach Andy Reid already disclosed to reporters earlier in the week that he expects Hill to play in tomorrow’s contest, so his designation on the injury report appears to be more precautionary than anything else. As for Spencer Ware’s likely absence, Damien Williams should step into the lead-back role, and he’s seen his fair share of snaps in the two games since Kareem Hunt was released even with Ware active. Darrel Williams and Charchandrick West would be the other running backs competing for touches, but it certainly remains possible that Damien Williams eclipses the 57% of snaps threshold Ware had been allotted over the last two weeks.

Tyreek Hill (wrist) questionable for Thursday night; Spencer Ware (shoulder, hamstring) doubtful

Hill was limited in Tuesday’s practice and has officially been listed as questionable for Thursday night’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers due to minor heel and wrist injuries, while Spencer Ware is listed as doubtful with shoulder and hamstring injuries. Head coach Andy Reid already disclosed to reporters that he expects Hill to play in tomorrow’s contest, so his designation on the injury report appears to be more precautionary than anything else. Melvin Gordon (knee) questionable for Thursday night; Austin Ekeler (neck) ruled out

Gordon was limited in practice on Tuesday and has officially been listed as questionable for Thursday’s matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs due to a knee injury, while his backup Austin Ekeler has been ruled out, as expected, with a concussion and a neck injury. Gordon did make the trip to Kansas City with the team, which is certainly a good sign that he’s going to at least try to play tomorrow evening. At the bare minimum, Justin Jackson will step into Ekelers change-of-pace role in the offense with possibly a few extra touches if the Chargers are trying to manage Gordon’s workload. However, if Gordon is unable to go, he’ll be the feature back in a matchup with a Chiefs defense that ranks last rush DVOA on the season and in a game that projects to be high-scoring.

Odell Beckham ends up getting a limited practice in Wednesday

Odell Beckham ends up getting a limited practice in Wednesday after it was thought that he’d end up sitting out. It still sounds like he’s trending in the right direction, but if he can’t go, Sterling Shepard would be the main beneficiary with Saquon Barkley likely to handle another big workload. We’ll continue to update Beckham’s status as the week progresses.

Austin Hooper (leg) not practicing Wednesday

The Falcons TE apparently suffered a right knee injury in Week 14’s loss to the Packers. If Hooper is sidelined in Week 15, look for Eric Saubert to soak up most of the tight end snaps in a game where the offense is projected for nearly 27 points.

QB Ryan Tannehill (ankle) expected to play in Week 15

Head Coach Adam Gase confirmed the Dolphins’ QB1 will start Sunday “unless something crazy happens”. However, he’ll have a daunting matchup on the road against an angry Vikings defense making him a fairly safe QB to eliminate from your player pool this week.
