June 24th
For each segment, the Fantastic Four will include my top 4 pitchers for tournaments on FanDuel and DraftKings. They’ll sometimes include plays picking up ownership if I feel like the rostership still doesn’t reflect their upside. Typically, if there is a cash game lock and someone who is pushing 50% rostered, these pitchers won’t get mentioned. However, sometimes on smaller slates, four pitchers won’t be an option.
The Fantastic Four – Best MLB DFS Picks

Fanduel has a terrific $3.33 contest for tonight’s 14-game slate, so it’s a beautiful day to run 150 lineups. I like this slate…a LOT. Aaron Nola and Jeffrey Springs are the top pitchers on the board, but the field is getting to them more than I am comfortable with. They’ll both be in my pool, but I’ll be closer to 10% than the field’s 20-plus percent. My Fanduel pool tonight consists of:
Justin Verlander
Alek Manoah
Aaron Nola
Luis Severino
Michael Kopech
Merrill Kelly
Jeffrey Springs
Mackenzie Gore
Dane Dunning
Alex Cobb
German Marquez
Dylan Bundy
The majority of my early lineups are reaching the top-tier pitchers, with a couple in the mid-tier popping as great pivots off of Springs.
Alek Manoah 10400 FD / 9500 DK – Manoah has been the picture of consistency this year and remains my favorite to win the AL Cy Young. Although he’s pricey on Fanduel, he still remains one of my favorite pivots off of Aaron Nola. On Draftkings, he is ridiculously underpriced and is my favorite tournament pitcher on the slate. The Brewers pose a threat with Tellez and Yelich, however they also have some high strikeout right-handed bats. A great tournament pivot on one site and the top option on another, fire up Alek Manoah tonight.
Justin Verlander 10500 FD / 10600 DK – Verlander is a lot pricier on DK, but interestingly enough he isn’t being rostered all that often on FD either. The Yankees are obviously a fantastic offense, but their lineup also comes with a lot of strikeouts. On a slate this big, I don’t want to be targeting guys who don’t have it in them to put up a high score. I’m not worried about the potential downside, because I’m trying to finish atop a tournament. Verlander has a scary matchup, but he also has the ability to break the slate, all the while being significantly less rostered than Nola.
Michael Kopech 9000 FD / 9100 DK – Kopech is another player who stands out on FD due to his strikeout upside. Although he has pitch count questions, he has progressed in his last game and we can hope he will reach 80-90 tonight. While that doesn’t sound all that enticing, strikeouts are the name of the game. Kopech has breezed past right-handed batters early in his career while tuning up lefties to a 37% strikeout rate. We’re targeting upside tonight, and Kopech has the ability to get us an ace score with a lower price.
Mackenzie Gore 8000 FD / 9100 DK – Gore has struggled his last two starts, which luckily is a factor in keeping his rostership nice and low for us tonight. The Phillies are one of the highest strikeout offenses on tonight’s slate, and although they boast some powerful righties, Gore has also shown reverse strikeout splits early in his career. Similar to Verlander and Kopech, this is a play that doesn’t come without risk, however, with his cheap price tag, he is my favorite tournament pitcher on FD.
Earth’s Mightiest MLB DFS Stacks For Today

Los Angeles Dodgers – There are a few offenses on tonight’s slate I think are being rostered at too high of a rate. The Twins, Texans and Angels are all in great spots, however, the field is getting to them more than I am comfortable with to getting overweight. The Dodgers are my top stack on the board and are going to be played at no higher of a rate than those teams. Due to this, I’ll be getting significantly overweight on the Dodgers while relaxing off of those 4 teams. They didn’t disappoint as chalk the other day, and tonight they line back up in a great spot without being chalky. As long as the weather doesn’t scare us off, the Dodgers are my top stack.
Boston Red Sox – The Red Sox are another team that the field will be getting to tonight, but due to the size of the slate, we don’t have to worry about rostership. Rafael Devers will be significantly rostered by the field, but outside of him, the full stack isn’t getting all that much attention. Jarren Duran is one of my favorite salary savers on the slate, and the Red Sox lineup is filled with potential power options to load up your stack with.
Kansas City Royals – When in need of Salary savings tonight, the Royals are one of my favorite teams to target. Salvador Perez went under for thumb surgery and won’t be back until later in the season, so unfortunately we have lost our top option. Despite this, Merrifield, Dozier and Witt Jr. make for one of my favorite 3-man stacks of the slate, helping us save salary while giving us speed and power upside. Cole Irvin isn’t known to wrack up many strikeouts, and the Royals will have a lot of speed on the bases for him to contend with.
