Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.350 (Rank: 3) — Strikeout Rate: 19.9% (Rank: 7)
Pitches per PA: 3.82 (Rank: 16)
Analysis: Verlander has pitched well over the last month of play, posting a 3.99 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 20.3%. He draws a difficult matchup tonight against the Rangers, who are ranked sixth in team wOBA and eighth in strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this season. Verlander is a small underdog in a game that features a total of 8.5 runs.
Pitcher Rating: 57.6
Colby Lewis : FD: $8,000 — DK: $7,400
Pitching Stats:

vs. RH Pitching: wOBA: 0.319 (Rank: 10) — Strikeout Rate: 19.9% (Rank: 14)
Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.295 (Rank: 24) — Strikeout Rate: 21.2% (Rank: 15)
Pitches per PA: 3.84 (Rank: 11)
Analysis: Lewis has been one of the most hittable pitchers in baseball over the last few seasons. While the Tigers have struggled offensively over the last couple of weeks, that is not enough to warrant fantasy consideration. Lewis has a low strikeout rate and a mediocre SIERA. He should be avoided tonight in the hitter-friendly Globe Life Park.
Pitcher Rating: 53.2

The Tigers draw a favorable matchup against Colby Lewis, who has allowed a .329+ wOBA to both left and right-handed hitters over the last two seasons. The Tigers also see a nice ballpark boost playing in the hitter-friendly Globe Life Park.

Texas
The Rangers are one of the top offenses to target tonight, as they square off against Justin Verlander at home. This series means a lot more to the Rangers than it does to the Tigers. The right-handed bats have the edge against the reverse-splits pitcher Verlander, but don’t count out the left-handed hitters in this lineup.

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.335 (Rank: 8) — Strikeout Rate: 23.9% (Rank: 25)
Pitches per PA: 3.98 (Rank: 1)
Analysis: Ventura is finally starting to look like the pitcher that we saw in 2014 and if you are a Royals’ fan, it couldn’t have come at a better time. Over the last month of play, Ventura has a 3.27 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 27.6%. He draws a decent matchup against the Cubs, who have the highest strikeout rate of any team against right-handed pitching this season. Ventura is a borderline SP2 on multi-pitcher sites.
Pitcher Rating: 73.8
Kyle Hendricks : FD: $7,500 — DK: $6,900
Pitching Stats:

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.326 (Rank: 14) — Strikeout Rate: 20.0% (Rank: 8)
Pitches per PA: 3.71 (Rank: 30)
Analysis: Hendricks has been in good form over the last month of play, posting a 3.76 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 22.2%. The issue here is his matchup. On the season, the Royals are ranked third in team wOBA and first in strikeout rate against right-handed pitching. Given his limited strikeout potential in this matchup, I will be avoiding Hendricks in all league formats.
Pitcher Rating: 70.3

Chicago Cubs
The Cubs are small favorites tonight in a game that features a total of 8.0 runs. Even though their matchup against Yordano Ventura isn’t ideal, there are a few hitters on my radar in this one. It also helps that there is a small helping wind blowing out to center field.

Analysis: Doubront is a decent spot starter in the majors, but he is rarely a recommended fantasy option. Over the last two seasons, he has a 4.60 SIERA with a strikeout rate of only 15.3%. He should be avoided tonight against the Angels, who have the fourth-lowest strikeout rate against southpaws this season.

Analysis: Santiago has been my favorite pitcher to pick on recently. Over the last month of play, he has a 6.43 SIERA with a strikeout rate of only 14.6%. He has really struggled to keep the ball in the park this season and it has shown with a HR/9 of 2.5 over the last 30 days. Even though the A’s don’t hit a lot of home runs, there is more risk than potential reward with Santiago tonight.

Analysis: Peavy has pitched well over the last month of play, posting a 4.17 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 18.3%. The biggest issue here is his matchup. On the season, the Dodgers have the third-highest team wOBA against right-handed pitching. With Zack Greinke pitching opposite him, Peavy is a better target for tournaments than he is for cash games.
