NHL GPP Plays: Thursday, November 19th

Every Tuesday and Thursday I am going to give you my top tournament plays for all Daily Fantasy Hockey GPPs (guaranteed prize pool). GPPs are a general term used across the industry for your big money tournaments.

GPPs are very different from your cash games and you use a different strategy with them. In our GPPs we are not interested in safe plays, since GPPs are all about UPSIDE. We want players who can explode, as all-or-nothing type players can become GPP gold,
and your value players are just as important as your star players. You need your players to have huge nights in order to take down these big tournaments.

My goal is to provide players who will be under-owned and have that big game upside you are looking for. I will also try to find as much value as I possibly can. Now, let’s get to the FanDuel NHL GPP plays!

Goaltenders

Make sure to check the RotoGrinders Starting Goalies Page prior to game time, to confirm that the goalies listed below are starting.

roberto-luongo-300x200

Roberto Luongo, Florida Panthers – Luongo is coming off a stellar performance against the Tampa Bay Lighting, turning aside all 39 shots he faced for his first shutout of the season. The 36-year-old has been superb in net for the Panthers this year (2.35 GAA, .926 SV%), and he is in a position to have another big night. The Anaheim Ducks are a solid offensive team and Florida allows the third most shots per game in the league. Luongo will see plenty of rubber in this one and if he can come away victorious, he will once again be one of top scoring goalies tonight.

Other Goalies To Target – Tuukka Rask, Martin Jones, Craig Anderson

Forwards

Pascal Dupuis and David Perron, Pittsburgh Penguins – The Pittsburgh Penguins got their offense rolling Tuesday night thanks to Evgeni Malkin. It was a necessary statement game for the Penguins and I think they keep scoring tonight against the league’s worst possession team. Both Pascal Dupuis and David Perron have multi-point upside at a discounted price.

tomas-hertl-300x200

Tomas Hertl and Melker Karlsson, San Jose Sharks – The Philadelphia Flyers have been a disaster this season, allowing way too many scoring chances and they have been an undisciplined hockey club. The Flyers’ terrible penalty kill has not helped matters. The Sharks should generate plenty of scoring opportunities in this game and that makes both Hertl and Karlsson excellent value options.

Dale Weise, Montreal Canadiens – The Montreal Canadiens are one of the biggest favorites on the board and they should get scoring from multiple lines in this matchup. The Habs’ third line with Weise has had some big games this year and he also continues
to skate on the second power play unit. At his price across the industry, Weise makes a great roll of the dice in your GPPs this evening.

Other Forwards To Target – Jason Zucker, Brayden Schenn, Brandon Saad, Mikael Granlund, Alex Galchenyuk, Ryan Johansen, Kyle Turris, Aleksander Barkov

Defense

Shayne Gostisbehere, Philadelphia Flyers – Gostisbehere has registered a point in both of his games this season, including a goal and four shots on net versus the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday evening. He has replaced Mark Streit as the Flyers’ power-play quarterback and has looked very good in doing so. Gostisbehere has offensive upside and he is an absolute steal across the industry.

Other Defensemen To Target – Ryan Suter, Tyson Barrie, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Sami Vatanen, Jeff Petry
