Dallas switched up their lines a bit for last night’s game but the way this team has been running lately, it’s tough to trust any of them where your cash games are concerned. Of course they have Tyler Seguin, Jamie Benn, defenseman John Klingberg and even Patrick Eaves, who is semi-trustworthy, but after that it’s like the potluck dinner on Sunday’s at your local religious establishment. Dallas has won just one game of their last seven going into last night’s game so it’s no wonder head coach Lindy Ruff couldn’t wait any longer. I’m sure his seat is getting hotter by the minute with the way his team is playing of late. For what it’s worth, Antoine Roussel has garnered four points in the team’s last six games and Radek Faksa was able to grab two assists while playing on a line with Benn and Lauri Korpikoski.
Edmonton has been the surprise team of the year so far as their 9-4-1 record has them atop of the Pacific division in the western conference. Their 43 goals are second in the conference only to the 49 goals Chicago has scored and look to improve on that total tonight on home ice. Connor McDavid and Jordan Eberle will no doubt be high owned in cash games tonight as they lead the Oilers in scoring. Their line mate in Patrick Maroon provides some cheap exposure to the top line if you are looking to go on the cheap as he has three goals and two assists over the last five games, which leads the team. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Milan Lucic come up from the second and third lines respectively to join Eberle and McDavid to form 80% of the team’s top power play unit. Both are easily in play here as one-off GPP plays and borderline cash plays. Finally the Oilers took Andrej Sekera off the top power play unit and replaced him with Oscar Klefbom. Heck, we’ve only been waiting for that to happen for weeks now.
