One of the last games of the night features the New York Islanders, who head to San Jose to start a three-game road trip through California, and a Sharks team that has been struggling after getting off to a 4-0 start.
Both teams have great offensive players and the potential for big scoring nights, although predicting when they will come is sometimes a challenge. This leads us to considering the players on both teams as GPP-only options, with the top two lines from both teams worth stacking. It is likely also that both teams will have low ownership in tournaments, so if one of these lines goes off it could lead to great results.
The Islanders have a top five ranked power play and the Sharks are bottom five in penalty kill, so this could be an area to exploit with the Islanders’ number power play unit (John Tavares, Kyle Okposo, Anders Lee, Frans Nielsen, Nick Leddy)

The Los Angeles Kings are the biggest favorite of the night, facing the Coyotes on home ice at the Staples Center. Arizona played last night in Anaheim and then made the short trip to Los Angeles. The Kings last played on Saturday, winning at home 4-1 over the Panthers
Last night the Coyotes overcame a 2-0 deficit and ended up beating the Ducks 4-3 in overtime on a goal by Mikkel Boedker. Rookie Max Domi had another big game with two goals, three shots and a +3 rating. The Coyotes’ top power play unit with Domi, Boedker, Anthony Duclair, Martin Hanzal and Oliver Ekman-Larsson is a possible contrarian stack in tournaments, with the Kings among the league leaders in times shorthanded.
Los Angeles has won five of their past six home games and are showing the home dominance that has been their trademark in years past. They are also one of the top teams in the league defensively and rank number one for shot attempts percentage (aka Corsi %). The Kings have a balanced offence with multiple lines that can score and players moving in and out of lines frequently. The line of Jeff Carter, Tyler Toffoli and Milan Lucic has been the hot one lately, and any of those players is worth considering in lineups, or as a full line stack for tournaments. In goal, Jonathan Quick is a great play for all game types.
