Kyle Lowry ruled out Saturday
Kyle Lowry has officially been ruled out Saturday, this was expected after he was downgraded to doubtful earlier in the day. It is important to note that Pascal Siakam was ruled out earlier today and Fred VanVleet remains out Saturday so the Raptors will continue to be shorthanded especially at the guard positions. Returning from suspension tonight and likely to see a large workload is DeAndre Bembry who should split point guard minutes with Malachi Flynn. The returning Rodney Hood (on a minutes limit) and newly available Freddie Gillespie should help but the Raptors are still pretty thin so there is potential value to be had with players like Flynn, Bembry, and Stanley Johnson while OG Anunoby, Gary Trent Jr., and Chris Boucher should dominate the usage and production.

Kelly Oubre (wrist) out Saturday and Juan Toscano-Anderson (elbow) listed probable
Kelly Oubre (wrist) is listed out and Juan Toscano-Anderson (elbow) is listed probable in advance of Saturday’s contest with the Houston Rockets. With Oubre out Kent Bazemore will likely join the starting lineup and see a few more minutes. It is also likely that Damion Lee and Jordan Poole pick up a few minutes and Juan Toscano- Anderson (if available) rejoins the rotation and picks up the rest vacated by Oubre. When looking at CourtIQ we see that with Oubre off the floor Stephen Curry enjoys a 3.5% usage bump and a sizeable .23 FPPM bump. Draymond Green, Jordan Poole, and Andrew Wiggins all see a small usage bump without Oubre.as well.

Tobias Harris and Danny Green are both listed questionable ahead of Saturday’s contest with the Oklahoma City Thunder while Joel Embiid is not on the injury report. This would be the first time since his knee injury that Embiid has played both legs of a back to back. Embiid with an admittedly small sample size of 71 minutes sees a usage rate increase of 8.6% and a FPPM bump of .42 if both Harris and Green are off the floor. Shake Milton and Ben Simmons also see usage rate increases with these two off the floor so they could potentially be good plays depending on the coming news.

Kevin Durant will start Saturday against the Los Angeles Lakers but will remain on an increased minutes limit. Kevin Durant saw just 19 minutes in his last game out and the speculation is that his minutes will be increased to somewhere in the mid 20s. Kevin Durant will likely be productive with his minutes like he was last game but Kyrie Irving will be the top DFS option in this offense until Durant and James Harden return at full strength.

Freddie Gillespie is available Saturday for the Raptors when they take on the Cleveland Cavaliers. This brings the Raptors up to 9 confirmed bodies awaiting the status of Kyle Lowry (doubtful) and Rodney Hood (probable). This news will determine how much of the court Gillespie sees Saturday.

Bradley Beal is doubtful for Saturday’s contest against the Phoenix Suns after playing last night against the Golden State Warriors. This isn’t much of a surprise as Beal is working his way back from an injury and the Wizards have been managing his workload, we will stay tuned to see what his status changes to. Davis Bertans has also been working his way back from an injury and will get the night off, allowing the returning Daniel Gafford to take some of his minutes along with Chandler Hutchinson. We are still waiting on the big news regarding Beal. If he is out Raul Neto will likely slide into his spot in the starting lineup with Garrison Matthews getting increased run and Russell Westbrook becoming an elite play. Rui Hachimura also stands to benefit from the potential Beal news as well as the Bertans news as he sees a 5.9% usage bump and a .10 FPPM bump with them both off the floor.

Lu Dort (concussion) will be available to play Saturday against the Philadelphia 76ers after missing the last seven games. The Thunder could potentially welcome back two players today as Darius Bazley is listed as probable as well. Dort’s return will most likely move Justin Robinson out of the rotation and take some minutes away from Aleksej Pokusevski and Ty Jerome. The main benefactor from a usage and FPPM perspective with Dort off the court was Theo Maledon who enjoyed a 3.2% usage rate bump as well as a .04 FPPM bump. With the Thunder starting to get healthy the value that was present before strictly due to extra playing time is starting to disappear.

Pascal Siakam is a new addition to the injury report while Lowry was downgraded from questionable to doubtful. It is also important to note that Fred VanVleet remains out so the Raptors will continue to be shorthanded especially at the guard positions if Lowry is out. Returning from suspension tonight and likely to see a large workload is DeAndre Bembry who should split point guard minutes with Malachi Flynn. The absence of Pascal Siakam should pave the way for more minutes for Stanley Johnson and the possibly returning Rodney Hood who was upgraded to probable. The shorthanded Raptors should lean on OG Anunoby and Gary Trent Jr. to carry the load offensively with many of the surrounding pieces such as Flynn, Bembry, Hood (if active), Chris Boucher, and Johnson offering good value due to their increased minutes.

Lineup Update: Clippers will start Jackson, Kennard, Leonard, Morris and Zubac on Friday. This obviously means Reggie Jackson will play, and he’s a very appealing value play in all formats with both Rondo and Beverley on the shelf in addition to Paul George. Leonard and Jackson are the top targets here with Luke Kennard also offering value and Terence Mann remaining on the GPP radar.

Rajon Rondo will not play Friday. This leaves the Clippers even more shorthanded at PG with Patrick Beverley also out and Reggie Jackson still questionable. Luke Kennard and Terence Mann should take on more responsibility at the guard spot, with Kawhi Leonard taking on even more offensive responsibility. It’s possible Jay Scrubb enters the rotation to give the Clippers some depth at guard.

Jamal Murray ruled out Friday. The Nuggets started Facundo Campazzo in his place on Wednesday and figure to do so again here. While Campazzo doesn’t have much of a ceiling, he is a potential punt play towards minimum price. Nikola Jokic and Michael Porter Jr. should take on even more offensive responsibility with Aaron Gordon and Will Barton also benefiting mildly. Jokic is one of the top overall plays on this slate. Monte Morris should continue to come off the bench and isn’t on the DFS radar Friday.

Khris Middleton and Brook Lopez officially ruled out Friday. They were doubtful earlier in the day, so just passing along confirmation that they won’t play.

Brandon Clarke available to play Friday. His return does eat into Kyle Anderson’s appeal – rather than being held in the mid-20s in terms of minutes, Anderson was creeping up into the high 20s with Clarke out. Killian Tillie is also likely now out of the rotation. Clarke isn’t a recommended DFS target on Friday, and the Grizzlies in general aren’t terribly appealing against a very slow Knicks team.

Josh Okogie will start over Jake Layman on Friday. There is no real DFS impact here – Okogie could still play minutes in the teens even as a starter, so not a whole lot changes for either player. Neither of them are anywhere near the DFS radar.
