Cody Zeller ruled out Saturday
Cody Zeller will miss Saturday’s game against the Suns, with an knee injury. Willy Hernangomez will enter the rotation without Zeller, but he isn’t a recommended DFS option. Frank Kaminsky could also see a couple more minutes if the Hornets go small.
As reported by: Chris Kroeger via TwitterForward Looks to Continue Filling In For Injured Teammates Tonight
With Evan Fournier and Aaron Gordon both likely off the court for Orlando tonight, there should be minutes and usage to spare, and one of the biggest beneficiaries should be forward Jonathan Simmons. With Fournier and Gordon off the court this season, Simmons gets a major 6% usage bump up to 28%, and averages 0.9 fantasy points per minute. He should see close to the 34 minutes he saw last night again tonight, and should be one of the best point-per-dollar plays on the slate priced at $5,400 on DK and $6,200 on FD.
Divisional Showdown Should Bring Out the Best in this All-Star Guard
Washington and Miami meet in a major Southeast Divisional showdown tonight in Miami that could have major playoff seeding implications for both teams, and the Wizards will need another big game from Beal tonight if they look to continue their success without John Wall. With Wall off the court this season, Beal averages a 31% usage rate (2% higher than when Wall is on the court) and about 1.1 fantasy points per minute. Beal has also had success against Miami this season, averaging 43.2 FD points and 46.3 DK points against Miami over the last three match-ups.
High-Rebounding Center Looks To Put Up Another Big Number Tonight
There should be some value at the Center position today, but in GPPs don’t overlook the importance of putting up raw points too. DeAndre Jordan is coming off a 20-point, 23-rebound performance against Cleveland last night, and tonight takes on an Orlando team that ranks 5th in the league in giving up rebounds to opponents, surrendering 45.5 rebounds per game. Jordan has average over 50 DK points and 52 FD points against Orlando over their last three match-ups, and looks to continue his success tonight priced at $7800 on DK and $8300 on FD.
Marc Gasol ruled out Saturday, Chandler Parsons will play
Marc Gasol won’t play (rest) in the second of a back-to-back on Saturday against the Mavericks. Deyonta Davis will likely start for Gasol. Last time, he started for Gasol, Davis played 24 minutes. Davis will be one of the top point per dollar plays on this five game slate. Dillon Brooks, JaMychal Green, and Jarell Martin all get a bump in usage without Gasol on the court. Chandler Parsons will play after missing the last two games, but he’s not a DFS target.
As reported by: Grizzlies PR via Twitter Other tagged players: Chandler ParsonsDennis Smith Jr. Questionable Saturday
Dennis Smith Jr. is questionable Saturday against Memphis, with knee soreness. If Smith is unable to go Saturday, J.J. Barea, Kyle Collinsworth, and Yogi Ferrell would all see more minutes. Barea and Ferrell would be strong cash games plays.
As reported by: Dallas Mavericks via GamenotesTyson Chandler will play Saturday
Tyson Chandler will play Saturday against the Hornets. Chandler isn’t a recommend DFS target, he has played just 20 & 18 minutes in his last two games. Chandler is also nursing a shoulder injury. With Chandler playing, Alex Len is no longer an option on today’s slate
As reported by: Scott Bordow via TwitterJosh Jackson and TJ Warren ruled out Saturday
Josh Jackson will miss Saturday’s game against the Hornets with a knee injury. Warren will miss his second straight game with an back injury. With both players out, Davon Reed, Troy Daniels, and Shaq Harrison will all receive an uptick in minutes. Daniels is a cash game option for today’s slate. Last game, he finished with 21.7 FDP in 29 minutes. Reed and Harrison are GPP options only.
As reported by: Scott Bordow via Twitter Other tagged players: TJ WarrenAaron Gordon listed out Saturday
Aaron Gordon will miss his second straight game Saturday, with an concussion. The two beneficiaries from Gordon being out, are Jonathan Isaac and Mario Hezonja. On Friday, Isaac played a season high 26 minutes, but he finished with just 16.4 FDP. His minutes could be reduced tonight, on the back-to-back. Hezonja is the safer play, and should be one of the best value plays of the day.
As reported by: Orlando Magic via GamenotesLou Williams, Sindarius Thornwell enter the Clippers starting lineup on Friday
These two will start alongside Jordan, Harris and Rivers. That’ll mean Milos Teodosic will come off the bench and he’ll have to compete with Juwan Evans for court time, so Teodosic is probably best left alone for DFS purposes.
As reported by: Brad TurnerMaurice Harkless confirmed as the starter at SF on Friday
Harkless is confirmed as the starter, sending Evan Turner back the bench. It’s likely Harkless ends up in the 24-30 minute range unless this one gets out of hand with Turner’s minutes falling into the mid-teens to low-20s.
As reported by: Casey HoldahlFrank Mason starting for De'Aaron Fox; Kosta Koufos, Skal Labissiere starting in the front-court
It’s not ultimately clear what this means for Zach Randolph, but it still seems likely that he sees somewhere in the neighborhood of 18-26 minutes off the bench with Willie Cauley-Stein inactive. This is the Kings we’re dealing with, so anything is possible. Frank Mason is the top value play on the late-slate and Koufos’ stock rises with him being confirmed as a starter. Labissiere is the best bet to lead the Kings front-court in minutes and he’s likely to be the top overall producer among the three, but Koufos may prove to be the better value.
As reported by: Josh Robbins Other tagged players: Kosta Koufos, Skal LabissiereJawun Evans will play Friday
It’s very unclear to what extent, but it sounds like Evans has a shot to re-enter the rotation after an extended absence. The Clippers are giving 33+ minutes to Austin Rivers and Lou Williams, and it’s possible one or both players see a very small drop in playing time. If you were on the fence about one of those players to begin with, this news can at least help make that decision a littl easier. Milos Teodosic could be impacted the most but it’s unlikely Evans steps into more than 15-18 minutes at best in his first game back.
As reported by: Tomer AzarlyJonathan Isaac expected to be held to about 25 minutes on Friday; Rodney Purvis likely to make Magic debut
As was stated in the earlier Magic update, Isaac isn’t going to play big minutes tonight. Per Josh Robbins, it’s also likely that Rodney Purvis makes his Magic debut tonight, but it would likely be in a limited role that wouldn’t impact the starters.
As reported by: John Denton Other tagged players: Rodney PurvisQuinn Cook to start at PG for the Warriors on Friday
The offense is still going to run through Durant and Draymond, but Cook will get the start at PG. He may have actually been better off from a FPPM standpoint had he come off the bench given Iguodala’s absence, as he may have had a shot to have the ball in his hands a bit more. Still, with the injuries starting to mount it’s possible he sees 26-30 minutes which would give him a nice ceiling for DFS purposes. Durant is an elite play in all formats and Green is still too cheap on both major sites.
