JaMychal Green and Chandler Parsons expected to play for Memphis tonight

The pair of Memphis players missed the teams last game but both are expected to play tonight when the team faces Portland. Neither are viable DFS options as they have reduced/minimal roles in the team rotation.

Enes Kanter expected to miss six to eight weeks with fractured right arm

Kanter punched a chair on Thursday and is expected to be out nearly two months after having surgery on a fracture in his right arm today. He’ll be re-evaluated in a month and should return sometime late March/early April. None of the Thunder bench players figure to benefit enough to be DFS worthy in his absence.

Hassan Whiteside OUT tonight for Miami

After admitting he should not have played on Wednesday night due to a ankle injury, the Heat center will take the night off tonight in the hopes that a little time off will help his injury heal. Willie Reed instantly becomes the chalk option at center after nearly averaging a double-double the last four games he’s started when Whiteside has been out. Dating back to December 1st, Reed has seen 20+ minutes of court time in five games, and outside of one contest he’s exceeded salary-based expectations each time around. Reed has posted at least 40 FPs in the only two games this year where he’s cleared 30 minutes of court time, and that is a real possibility tonight against a big Bulls team with Whiteside on the shelf. He’s priced around the minimum on DFS sites and should be targeted confidently in any format this evening.

Nikola Jokic and Emmanuel Mudiay will both be OUT for Denver's next two games

The pair of Nuggets starters will not travel with the team and will miss their next two games. Jokic went down late last night after a big outing with a hip injury while Mudiay has been out for a few games with a back injury. Jusuf Nurkic will become a top value option for the Nuggets with Jokic out while Jameer Nelson will continue to benefit from Mudiay’s absence.

Trevor Booker OUT for Nets tonight

The Nets have ruled out their starting forward due to illness for their game against Cleveland tonight. It’s hard to figure out who benefits the most from this news. Justin Hamilton will likely get the start but he was ineffective the last time he had this opportunity and it’s a tough match up in a game that likely will see the Nets blown out. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Luis Scola, and Quincy Acy all stand to see more run in this situation with Hollis-Jefferson having the most upside and viability of that group.

Trevor Booker (illness) will not play Friday vs. the Cavs.
Justin Hamilton started in place of Booker last week, but scored just six points in 24 minutes in that start. Luis Scola and Quincy Acy should also see some extra minutes on Friday. This is a situation to avoid from a fantasy perspective.

Evan Fournier limited participant in shootaround this morning for Magic

Fournier was limited in shootaround and is officially questionable for the Magic tonight. He’s probably not going to play but we’ll continue to keep an eye on the situation and update you if anything changes. C.J. Watson would likely start again in his absence. Also of note, D.J. Augustin took part in the shootaround and is also questionable.

Anthony Davis expects to play tonight for Pelicans

The oft-injured New Orleans star left Wednesday’s game with a right quad injury but downplayed the severity of the injury and stated he would play tonight. He’s listed as probable but he’s a high risk option that will have a hard time paying off his exorbitant salary facing the defensive-minded Spurs He’s an easy fade for this game and Terrence Jones value decreases along with his role with Brow back on the court.

Eric Gordon DOUBTFUL for Rockets tonight

The Rockets guard has been downgraded to doubtful for their game tonight against the 76ers after missing their shootaround due to back tightness. If he can’t go, Sam Dekker and Corey Brewer should see more run off the bench with Dekker being the more viable DFS option of the two.

Joel Embiid questionable for 76ers tonight; Jahlil Okafor will be available to play

Embiid did look good and took part in the team shootaround this morning so he’s more probable than questionable in reality but we’ll keep an eye on his status and update you as soon as we learn more. If he can’t go, Jahlil Okafor is available and would likely get the start putting a damper on the chalk value of Nerlens Noel who has put up huge numbers in his absence. Noel would still be a viable option and would probably come in at lower ownership then he did the other night due to Okafor’s availability.

DeMar DeRozan OUT for Raptors tonight

DeRozan is considered day-to-day but will sit out tonight’s game against the Bucks. Norman Powell has started the last two games in his absence and has been a very effective DFS option and will continue to be in play tonight, although he’ll likely be highly owned due to that recent production and the early news of DeRozan sitting.

Julius Randle (illness) available tonight, but not likely to play; Tarik Black will start

Randle will be available to play off the bench in tonight’s game against the Utah Jazz but is not expected to play, as he is dealing with an illness. It seems as if Randle will only see the court in the event of an injury or extreme foul trouble. Tarik Black will draw the start at power forward in Randle’s place and could be worth a look in tournaments on the late slate. The likely absence of Randle from the rotation will free up reserve minutes for Ivica Zubac and Larry Nance in the frontcourt. Both are certainly in consideration as tournament punts as well on the late slate despite the difficult matchup with this Utah defensive unit.

Rodney Hood (right knee) will play tonight

Hood will play in tonight’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers after previously being expected to miss at least another week with a hyperextended right knee and bone bruise that had forced him to miss six consecutive games. With Hood able to return Thursday, he is likely to be inserted into the starting lineup at his normal shooting guard position, sending Joe Ingles back to the bench to resume his reserve role. There has yet to be any word or confirmation of a minutes restriction, but it would be difficult to imagine Hood seeing his normal allotment of minutes in his first game back. His presence in the lineup does hinder the viability of Joe Ingles and Alec Burks, even in tournaments.

Dragan Bender (sore right ankle) ruled out tonight

Bender will not play in tonight’s game against the Denver Nuggets after previously being listed as probable on the Suns’ injury report with a sore right ankle that has now forced him to miss three consecutive games. His absence from the rotation will free up some additional playing time for P.J. Tucker and some extent Marquese Chriss and Alex Len. However, the former remains the primary forward to target in the Phoenix frontcourt outside of Tyson Chandler.

Green and Parsons are officially listed as probable for tomorrow’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers after missing the Grizzlies’ previous game with knee injuries. Their probable return to the starting lineup would send Zach Randolph and James Ennis back to the bench to resume their normal reserve roles. Additionally, Troy Daniels has been listed as questionable, and if he were to miss his third consecutive game, there could be a couple more minutes available for likes of Ennis and Vince Carter.

Pierre Jackson named the starter alongside Seth Curry

Despite earlier reports that Devin Harris would draw the start at point guard for the injured Deron Williams in tonight’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Pierre Jackson will actually get the starting nod alongside Seth Curry in the backcourt. Harris will obviously now come off the bench, and his minutes may be limited to some extent on the second night of a back-to-back set. Jackson has looked good in limited action thus far and is the preferred target over Harris in all formats for Thursday’s slate.
