Tyler Zeller (illness) will be available tonight
Zeller will be available to play in tonight’s game against the Washington Wizards after missing over a month of game action due to a lingering illness. Zeller had typically been seeing less than 10 minutes of action per game prior to his illness, so his return to the active roster will do little to affect the actual rotation. However, there may be a few less minutes for Kelly Olynyk and Jonas Jerebko off the bench.

Jerian Grant (illness) confirmed as the starter over Michael Carter-Williams
Grant will be inserted into the starting lineup at point guard for tonight’s game against the Orlando Magic, sending Michael Carter-Williams back to the bench to resume a reserve role. Despite his newly acquired starting status, Grant isn’t a particularly intriguing fantasy option, as he is highly unlikely to see more than 24 minutes or so with Carter-Williams, Rajon Rondo, and Dwyane Wade also available to vulture ball handling responsibilities. Grant could be worth a look in tournaments, but Wade and Jimmy Butler remain the primary Bulls players to target.

Augustin and Fournier will not play in tonight’s game against the Chicago Bulls after previously being listed as questionable on the Magic’s injury report with a sprained right ankle and sore right foot respectively. Jeff Green will be inserted into the starting lineup at shooting guard, sending C.J. Watson back to the bench to resume his reserve point guard role. With Jodie Meeks also unavailable, it would be hard to imagine Elfrid Payton seeing less than 35 minutes of action for Orlando’s depleted backcourt. Payton doesn’t see a substantial usage bump with the aforementioned trio off the floor, but he does average 1.08 FanDuel and 1.13 DraftKings points per minute, making him an elite option on tonight’s slate.
Other tagged players: Evan Fournier, Jeff Green Patrick Patterson (knee) will play tonight
Patrick Patterson has missed ten of his last twelve games and is expected to return to the lineup tonight. Patterson usually does not play in the starting lineup and comes off the bench. He’ll be a low-owned option that is cheap but rarely has huge games that really make you regret having him in the lineup. With DeRozan out tonight, Patterson will likely take on a bigger scoring burden but will have to deal with LaMarcus Aldridge as well.

Ed Davis has been battling an ankle injury and is now also dealing with a wrist injury. Davis has missed two of the last three games and has not even been a fantasy option in two weeks. Meyers Leonard and Noah Vonleh have really stepped up in the absence of Davis and Leonard will be a strong tournament option against the Lakers tomorrow. The Blazers continue to change their lineups so there is a possibility that we something new tomorrow as well.

Mike Muscala will miss another game due to an ankle injury. Mike Scott and Kris Humphries have been picking up the slack in place of Muscala. Both Humphries and Scott are extremely volatile options with Humphries being the only one with DFS viability in tournaments. Expect Paul Millsap and Dwight Howard to see over 30 minutes with Muscala out of the lineup.

Joe Harris will miss another game due to an ankle injury. Randy Foye started at SG last night but Sean Kilpatrick was still more effective off the bench. Foye could start against the Heat but it is unlikely since the Heat start Dion Waiters at SG. Look for another update from the Nets since they also rested Caris LeVert in their last game and he should be back in the lineup on Wednesday.

Cody Zeller is questionable due to a quad contusion. If Zeller is unable to play, Roy Hibbert will likely start in his place. Hibbert is not a high-end DFS option and will likely not play over 20 minutes against the uptempo Warriors. Spencer Hawes would be an extremely enticing play if both Kaminsky and Zeller were to sit. Jeremy Lamb has been upgraded to questionable and his status will likely be further updated after shootaround tomorrow.

With both Johnson and Richardson on the shelf, Goran Dragic is going to be a core play in all formats tomorrow against the Nets. Brooklyn ranks dead last against PGs in DvP and they are not only one of the fastest paced teams in the league, but they also are among the worst in terms of fantasy points allowed. As long as this one stays fairly competitive, Dragic should exceed 35 minutes of court time with Wayne Ellington picking up the biggest bump in playing time off the bench. Ellington finished with 33 minutes of court time in the Heat’s game on Monday (with both Johnson and Richardson out) and figures to eat up a similar amount of playing time on Wednesday. Dion Waiters also becomes a safer target in all formats.

Luol Deng (wrist) probable for Wednesday
Luke Walton has stated that Deng will play tomorrow, and it doesn’t appear that he’ll be limited in terms of minutes at this point. Walton also stated that he’s unsure of whether or not Brandon Ingram will start at PG, so that’s a situation we’ll need to track as tomorrow’s lock inches closer. Despite seeing at least 30 minutes of court time in six of his eight games in January, Deng is only averaging 7.6 shot attempts per game as he’s begun to defer to some of the younger players – namely the guards – in terms of scoring. He’s also not giving you much value in other categories at the moment, so he’s nothing more than a GPP flier. If Ingram does remain in the starting lineup, he’ll arguably be the more intriguing play.

Anthony Davis expects to play on Wednesday
Davis sat out last night’s game leading to a monster game from Terrence Jones but the Pelicans star big man practiced today and said he expects to play on Wednesday against Oklahoma City. Jones loses a ton of value with Davis back in the mix. We’ll update you tomorrow if anything changes.

Rubio was listed as probable by the team and is ready to play for the team after taking part in their shootaround this morning. He’s a strong play against the Suns who are 24th in fantasy points allowed per game. His return makes Kris Dunn once again not relevant for purposes of DFS.

The Denver guard left early when they played on Saturday and did not return. He then sat out their game on Sunday leading Head Coach Mike Malone to state that he is very doubtful to play tonight against Utah after he missed the team shootaround this morning. Jameer Nelson should get another start at point guard with Jamal Murray getting plenty of run off the bench but the pair has a tough match up against the defensive-minded Jazz. Murray does have some appeal as a GPP option however.

The team has listed their star power forward as probable after their Head Coach Doc Rivers stated last night that he would most likely play against the 76ers today. While there might be concerns with Griffin being limited, that shouldn’t be the case as the team could have rested him tonight with three off days coming up. With Embiid out and Griffin’s usage expected to be high with Chris Paul out, he makes for what should be a high upside, low-owned play tonight.

The Spurs rested Ginobili on Monday with lingering back issues but he is probable to play tonight against Toronto. Parker continues to remain out for the team with a foot injury. Ginobili could be in line for a few extra minutes but isn’t a viable DFS option. Dejounte Murray and Patty Mills are again expected to split the bulk of Parkers minutes with Mills the better option of the two.
