Marcus Smart will return on Wednesday
The Celtics guard told media today that he will return to the court for the team when they play Wednesday. This will thin out some minutes for the current rotation – Smart himself is a viable DFS option in the right match ups.

Greivis Vasquez, Randy Foye, and Caris LeVert all out for Brooklyn tonight
Three role players for the Nets are out tonight with various injuries. It’ll thin out the rotation for the team and give more minutes to their core players but other than that it’s not that meaningful for the purposes of DFS.

The 76ers big man will be available but will likely not play tomorrow night. Joel Embiid will play tomorrow and will sit out the teams game on Wednesday.

The Raptors backup center continues to battle an ankle injury and will be out tonight. Jakob Poeltl will get run as the reserve but doesn’t get enough playing time to warrant DFS consideration. Jonas Valanciunas should see plenty of minutes and makes for an excellent option on this small four game slate.

Nowitzki was an infuriatingly late scratch tonight, as the news broke several minutes after the main slate lineup lock. Nowitzki remains sidelined with an illness that kept him out of the Mavericks previous game as well. Curry draws the start in his place, over J.J. Barea, with Dallas rolling a small-ball lineup much more frequently so far this season.

Jarell Martin will start in place of Andrew Harrison tonight
The confirmed starters for the Memphis Grizzlies are Mike Conley, James Ennis, Jarell Martin, JaMychal Green, and Marc Gasol. This moves Harrison to a reserve role off the bench and Gasol will have his minutes closely monitored, as previously reported.

The Grizzlies strangely listed Green, Baldwin, Harrison, and Martin as questionable earlier in the day, and now they all are confirmed as active for tonight’s games versus Washington. This is a difficult situation to analyze with all the lineup fluctuation, but our best targets probably lie in Zach Randolph and Jarell Martin with their affordable price tags around the industry. Marc Gasol will have his minutes closely monitored this evening, opening up some extra opportunity and usage in the Grizzlies’ frontcourt. In addition, Tony Allen has been ruled out, as was expected.

Calderon will finally make his season debut tonight against Oklahoma City. Calderon will presumably be the Lakers backup point guard when fully healthy, though he is likely to be brought along slowly making him an easy fade tonight and for the foreseeable future. The presence of Calderon all but knocks Marcelo Huertas from the Lakers rotation and could eventually eat into the minutes of combo guard, Lou Williams. However, this news doesn’t alter the fantasy outlook of DeAngelo Russell, Julius Randle and even Nick Young this evening.

Brandon Ingram (knee) will play against the Thunder on Sunday
Ingram will suit up tonight against Oklahoma City, as expected, after not showing up on the Lakers injury report following Friday night’s game. Ingram was rested for the majority of the second half Friday as a precaution, so he is an easy fade tonight with Lakers coach Luke Walton saying they were not “going to run him into the ground”. With a possible minute restriction looming for Ingram, Nick Young and Lou Williams are worth a look in tournaments.

Whiteside has officially been cleared to play in tonight’s game against San Antonio, though he was always expected to active. With LaMarcus Aldridge (rest) already ruled out for the Spurs, Whiteside suddenly has one of the premier matchups of the night against the frontcourt rotation of Pau Gasol, David Lee, and Dewayne Dedmon. Feel free to fire him up in all formats with confidence.

Lee has been confirmed as the Spurs’ starting power forward for tonight’s game against Miami. However, San Antonio is likely to use a committee-style approach in filling the void Aldridge leaves at the power forward position. Lee is still a solid tournament flier, but is far from a slam dunk cash play. The real boost in fantasy value and usage could come in the from of Kawhi Leonard, Manu Ginobili, and Jonathon Simmons, as Gregg Popovich is more likely roll out small-ball lineups against the front court rotataion of Luke Babbitt, James Johnson, and Derrick Williams.

Terry won’t play in tonight’s matchup with the Detroit Pistons, as he deals with a death in the family. It’s unclear how much time he will miss, but since he was active and didn’t play in yesterday’s game, his absence won’t impact Milwaukee’s always inconsistent rotations.
