Kristaps Porzingis (shoulder) officially ruled out
Porzingis won’t take the court tonight against the Mavericks due to a sore right shoulder. Derrick Williams is set to start in his place and he makes for a very nice upside GPP target, but he’s been fairly volatile in his spot starts this season. Carmelo Anthony may shoulder even more of the offensive burden tonight and he’s an excellent target in any format against a short-handed Mavericks team. Melo owns a 30.4% usage rate with Porzingis off the floor dating back to January 1st – Derrick Williams owns the second highest mark since that point at 23.3.

Spurs starters: Parker, Green, Leonard, Aldridge, and Duncan on Wednesday
The Spurs will return to their normal starting five after a long weekend of resting. Aldridge should continue his dominance but is a risky option against the Pelicans. Tony Parker and Tim Duncan return to the lineup after sitting for two games. Parker has flashed 40 fpts upside recently but also has a terribly low floor. Parker should only be used in tournaments and avoided in cash games.

Kawhi Leonard will return to the starting lineup against the Pelicans. Leonard missed three games due to the quad injury and Kyle Anderson replaced him in the lineup. Anderon had a huge 36 fpts showing against the Grizzlies in 36 minutes. His salary is still sub-$4k on both major sites, so he should be a tournament option with the Spurs favored by 19 points. David West will be resting for this contest. Another Spurs player is also expected to rest but their name has not been revealed at this time.

Mirza Teletovic has been ruled out of Wednesday’s contest with the Bucks. Teletovic was playing well before the injury and Jon Leuer will likely pick up his minutes. Leuer was relegated to the bench after Tyson Chandler returned to the lineup. Chandler was not able to make an impact but is still in front of Leuer. Leuer is a tournament option and will not be heavily owned while Chandler should not be considered.

Norris Cole continues to be out of the lineup with a bad back. Toney Douglas will likely start again with Jrue Holiday done for the year. Douglas is a viable option but faces the Spurs on Wednesday. San Antonio stands as 19 point favorites currently, making Douglas a mid-range tournament option. Douglas’ asking price is back under $5k on DK, leaving him some possible upside. James Ennis was signed today to a 10-day contract but is not availble for DFS purposes.

Over the last three weeks the Nuggets are dead last in the league at defending opposing SFs. A lot of this probably has to do with the absence of Danilo Gallinari, and luckily for Barnes they are in no hurry to rush him back as Jakarr Sampson will be starting at SF again for the Nuggets. Barnes is a great play on DK where he is $1,000 cheaper, but there are other directions you could go with your SF spots on FanDuel. We’re not sure why there is such a big discrepancy in price, but at only $5,300 on DK Barnes is averaging over 31 fantasy points per game in his last ten. He is a solid option to hit value vs. the Nuggets and should be in a lot of cash lineups especially on DK.
Bradley Beal is seeing full playing time with his price still low
Bradley Beal has been injured off and on throughout the year and there were some points where the Wizards would only play him 20 or 25 minutes a game, but over the past couple of weeks his minutes have been way up. Over the last seven games, Beal is averaging 34 minutes per game and it appears that he doesn’t have any minutes restriction from here on out. He is a great play because his price hasn’t risen to correspond with the number of minutes he is playing. While he may not be as productive, earlier in the year Beal was hovering around $7,000 and is now significantly cheaper. He couldn’t ask for a better match-up than the Kings as they are one of the worst teams in the league at defending opposing SGs.
Terrence Ross (thumb) will play on Wednesday; Luis Scola (rest) ruled out
Terrence Ross will return to the lineup after missing three games due to a thumb injury. Ross does not provide much upside and his return hurts Norman Powell’s value. Powell was playing extremely well with Ross out of the lineup. Powell was averaging 26.93 DraftKings fantasy points but could see less than 30 minutes in this contest. Luis Scola is dealing with a sore knee and will be rested. His replacement has not been named at this time. Jason Thompson started for Scola recently and had 23.8 fpts in 24 minutes. Thompson is a viable tournament target if he is confirmed as the starter.

Kyle Lowry is expected to start against the Hawks and multiple sources have stated that he will play. With Lowry dealing with an elbow injury, he is a risky option on this slate. Lowry has not exceeded for three consecutive games and will have a tough time doing so tonight. With Lowry ailing, Cory Joseph should see a few extra minutes. Joseph has also been struggling lately but his asking price has dropped. Joseph is sub-$4k on both major sites, making him a low-end tournament target on Wednesday.

Goran Dragic has been playing well lately putting up five games of 40 DK points or more over his last ten. If you take out a dud vs. the Spurs a few days ago he is averaging nearly 38 DK points per game over the month of March and that trend will likely continue in a great match-up vs. the Lakers. The Lakers’ struggles on both ends of the ball have been well documented, and the fact of the matter is they let up by far the most fantasy points per game to opposing PGs. It’s at the point in the season where the Lakers look like they don’t even care about playing defense anymore since realistically they’re playing to lose to solidify their chances in next year’s lottery. Looking at our RotoGrinders Court IQ, you can see Dragic is nearly a fantasy point per minute guy during March, so if he plays his 35 minutes in this juicy match-up he has a very good chance of exceeding value. He is a good mid-tier option to plug into your lineups.

Jae Crowder will practice today and see how his ankle reacts tomorrow. Crowder should be considered questionable for Thursday’s game with the Blazers. Evan Turner has started six of the games Crowder has missed, averaging 30.36 DraftKings fantasy points. If Crowder returns, Turner would lose a ton of value off the bench with his price elevated and minutes not secure over 30. Look for an update regarding Crowder’s status tomorrow.

Rose suffered a hyperextended elbow on Monday against the Pacers. He is being listed as probable for Thursday’s contest with the Rockets. E’Twaun Moore returned from a six-game absence on Monday and played 24 minutes. Moore didn’t do much in that game (13.5 fpts) making for a low-end target in what should be an uptempo game on Thursday. Taj Gibson was pnly able to play 10 minutes before injuring his ribs. It’s been an issue for him for a couple games now but has not caused him to miss any time yet. Nikola Mirotic stepped up for Taj Gibson in a big way, scoring 48.5 DraftKings fpts in 37 minutes. If Gibson misses on Thursday, Mirotic makes for a nice tournament option. He comes with considerable risk and has busted in good spots multiple times this season.

Harkless is dealing with an illness but is not on the Blazers injury report for Thursday, indicating that he should be good to go. He’s been performing well over the past few games as the starter and may continue to run with the first unit tomorrow against Boston, although Terry Stotts may opt to use Noah Vonleh to counter the size of the Celtics front-court. Kaman isn’t likely to see the court even if he’s active, so any news on him doesn’t hold DFS relevance.

Belinelli will miss his third straight game tonight when the Kings take on the Wizards. The Kings rotation will be back in order tonight after they rested Cousins, Rondo and Gay on Monday, which makes Seth Curry and Darren Collison much tougher players to target in any format. Curry and Ben McLemore will eat up the 18-22 minutes left by Belinelli, but Rondo and Cousins are the two top DFS targets on the Sacramento side. Rondo’s price has fallen a bit on FanDuel and he’s still priced a tier too low on DraftKings, especially considering the triple-double upside he brings to the table.
