Lance Stephenson and Vince Carter still GTDs, both waiting to see how they react to warm-ups
Both Stephenson and Carter are still game-time decisions, and a determination will be made regarding their status’ after they go through warm-ups. If one or both ends up sitting, Briante Weber and Tony Allen would take on big roles (P.J. Hairston is also out) in terms of playing time, but both are relatively unexciting DFS options. Weber does have appeal given his role as the PG and the fact that he should see upwards of 30-33 minutes, but he’s been performing terribly on a per-minute basis.

Jonas Jerebko (ankle) ruled out on Wednesday
Jonas Jerebko has been ruled out with an ankle injury. Kelly Olynyk is back in the lineup and figures to take the minutes left by Jerebko, with Evan Turner also a candidate to pick up a few minutes if the Celtics play small. Despite Boston dealing with multiple injuries, Olynyk should only be considered a GPP punt play.

Wizards starting: Wall, Beal, Porter, Morris, and Gortat
Bradley Beal will start again tonight and is on a 32-minute limit, making him a slightly risky target despite his price plummeting on some sites. John Wall remains in an elite spot regardless, while Otto Porter and Markieff Morris may see their usage/shot attempts drop slightly. Wall is the only “core” play on the Washington side while Gortat, Morris and Beal are all secondary GPP options.

Derrick Rose and Mike Dunleavy will return to the starting lineup against the Wizards. Rose’s minutes will be closely monitored so his upside is likely limited. Rose was averaging 33.1 DKFP before he got injured so there is not much upside at his salary. Nikola Mirotic offers the most tournament appeal and is coming off a 30.3 DKFP night.

Pau Gasol has been ruled out again for their matchup with the Wizards and Taj Gibson is simply too cheap to ignore in this situation. He is expected to see 32+ minutes in the Bulls front court and at only $4,900 on DK and $5,300 he is one of the safest options on the board. He is in a very similar situation as Nerlens Noel last night. He isn’t a high usage guy, doesn’t rack up a ton of fantasy points per minute, but at this price and the minutes he is expected to play he should be able to hit value. With that being said, he is never a guy that has a ton of upside for GPPs, although he is a cheap option to lock in a nice floor in cash games. Even in a tough match up with the Wizards, the price makes him a great play relative to his low price.
Bradley Beal will play against the Bulls
Beal will play tonight against the Bulls. He’s still a risky target considering he’s working his way back from an injury, but his price tag has plummeted on some sites (he’s down to $5200 on FD) which does add some intrigue to rostering him. With that said, we’re not strongly recommending him tonight, but if his price stays at this level he’ll provide solid value soon enough. Garrett Temple and Otto Porter are now less desirable plays. Beal is apparently on a 32-minute limit tonight.

Pau Gasol will miss his second consecutive game with a knee injury and is doubtful for Thursday’s game against the Nets. Taj Gibson will see the biggest boost with Gasol out of the lineup. Gibson mentioned earlier today that he felt tightness in his hamstring but that he would play through it. Nikola Mirotic should start at power forward and should play 28+ minutes tonight.

You will want a piece of this Pelicans-Kings game as they have the highest over/under on the board at 222 as well as only a four-point spread. These are two mediocre basketball teams but they both have bad defenses and play at a fast pace which is exactly want we want for DFS purposes. There are a lot high-priced options in this game, but if you can’t spend up for someone like Rajon Rondo or Jrue Holiday, look at Darren Collison at only $5,200 on DK and $5,300 on FD. According to RotoGrinders’ Trending Stats page, Collison has seen a +6.92 increase in his season average fantasy points over the last week. A lot of this has to do with the fact that he is also seeing 8.07 minutes above his season average in this time span. Since moving into the starting lineup he has really seen his minutes spike as the Kings love to roll out two PGs in Collison and Rondo at the same time. He should see plenty of run in this game because the Pelicans start two point guards as well in Toney Douglas and Holiday. Our guess is a lot of people will want to pay up for some of the star PGs tonight and Collison will get ignored in the mid-tier price range. He is a contrarian pick that actually offers a pretty high floor and who is expected to see a ton of minutes.

Derrick Rose will play tonight against Washington. His return is welcomed with Pau Gasol on the shelf and Jimmy Butler still working his way back into action. E’Twaun Moore will see his court time drop a bit, as will Justin Holiday. Fred Hoiberg did state that he’ll keep an eye on Rose despite not putting a particular minutes limit in place, so Rose is still a risky GPP target. Jimmy Butler is the top option on the Chicago side while Taj Gibson and Nikola Mirotic are also in favorable spots thanks to Gasol’s absence.

Payton will not play tonight, which means Brandon Jennings becomes a more viable value play with C.J. Watson also in the mix with the second unit. The two may end up splitting court time depending on game flow and the health of Watson (he’s been dealing with an illness), but Jennings is the play in any format if you’re choosing between the two.

Jennings will remain in the starting lineup tonight, and Payton has actually been ruled out in the time since this alert was first posted. After double-doubling last night, Jennings should see between 25-30 minutes of court time and that’s all he needs at his current price tag across the industry. He’s not a “safe” play and the floor here is still fairly low, but his ceiling in this spot is very high.

Nikola Vucevic has been ruled out again with a groin injury. Dewayne Dedmon is averaging about 20 minutes in his last three starts for Vucevic. Dedmon is a low-end DFS play with Jason Smith a more viable option. Smith is averaging 28.3 DKFP over his last three games. Ersan Ilyasova is out with a knee injury, making Jason Smith slightly more valuable. Andrew Nicholson should see some court time as well but he is not in DFS consideration.

Thompson will draw another start at center tonight in place of Timofey Mozgov. Thompson is a decent value play at the PF spot, but his upside is still fairly limited given that he rarely contributes stats outside of points and rebounds. Expect around 30-32 minutes of court time for Thompson tonight and if that happens he’s a decent bet for a double-double.

The Hawks have had rebounding troubles all season long, and they have to match up vs. the top rebounder in the league in Andre Drummond. Drummond averages 15 rebounds per game and the Hawks are second to last in the league at a -4.3 rebound differential. This bodes extremely well for Drummond as he could easily pull down 20 rebounds. The Hawks are 24th in DvP vs. centers over the course of the season as well. Over the last week or so Drummond has been at the lowest price of the year, and at only $7,800 on DK and $7,900 on FD he is in a great spot to hit value. He has been a little inconsistent but he pretty steadily grabs 15+ rebounds every night and it is really a matter of how many points he scores. The match up vs. the Hawks and their poor rebounding will hopefully mitigate the risk of him putting up a dud as he should be able to feast on the boards no matter how his other peripherals look.
Marcus Smart to start for Jae Crowder again on Wednesday
Marcus Smart will draw another start at SF tonight, putting him squarely in play as a value/mid-range option. He’ll likely be tasked with defending Kevin Durant which doesn’t bode well for him (Durant has a substantial size/length advantage) and foul trouble is a concern in a match-up like this, but Smart still does have some GPP appeal given his increased court time.
