Timofey Mozgov to play off the bench; Tristan Thompson starting
Tristan Thompson will remain in the starting lineup tonight with Timofey Mozgov coming off the bench. Thompson should be considered an elite play tonight while Mozgov is a low-end tournament option. If the Lakers can keep it close, Thompson should see over 30 minutes tonight.

Channing Frye starting for Kevin Love
Channing Frye will replace the injured Kevin Love tonight and is a strong punt option against the Lakers. Expect Frye to have a tough time guarding Julius Randle so Randle also gets a significant bump in value with Frye in the lineup.

Kobe Bryant will play tonight but is only a viable option for tournaments and not cash games. Look for Bryant to take a good amount of shots tonight on a national stage. Thankfully, Nick Young goes back to the bench and is no longer a viable DFS option.

Kevin Love has been ruled out tonight with a knee injury. The extent of the injury is not known at this time but it does not seem serious. With Love out of the lineup, Tristan Thompson will likely see over 30 minutes tonight. Look for Channing Frye to also become a viable punt option with Timofey Mozgov still questionable.

All three players missed last night’s game with Marco Belinelli the most likely to play on Friday. Belinelli will likely start with Ben McLemore doubtful with a finger injury. Seth Curry has been out with a foot injury and is questionable to play. Only Belinelli has DFS relevance for the Kings, and he is a low-end tournament option on a ten-game slate.

Kobe Bryant is expected to play tonight against the Cavs. Bryant is a tournament option only and will likely not play over 24 minutes tonight. With Bryant expected back in the lineup, Nick Young will go back to the bench is not a DFS option. D’Angelo Russell and Jordan Clarkson also take a hit in their value with Bryant back in the lineup.

Lou Williams was doubtful for tonight’s game against the Cavs and now has been officially ruled out. Marcelo Huertas will continue to take his place in the lineup and is a viable punt option. With Bryant expected to play, Huertas’ upside might be limited.

Rodney Hood misses Utah’s game on Wednesday with a back injury and is questionable for Friday. If Hood misses the game, Chris Johnson will likely start again. Johnson had a poor game against the Warriors in his previous start but becomes a viable punt option against the Wizards. Johnson will be severely under-owned and could exceed value if he is given over 20 minutes.

Mario Chalmers suffered a ruptured Achilles in last night’s game and has been ruled out for the rest of the season. The Grizzlies waived Chalmers to open up a roster spot for them. With Mike Conley questionable for Friday, the Grizzlies have no official PG active. Look for Lance Stephenson to pick up some ball-handling duties while the team scrambles find a viable replacement.

Luis Scola will start tonight in front of Jason Thompson and is a solid play on a four-game slate. Scola’s production does not jump off the page but he does open up some roster flexibility. Jason Thompson will not be relevant off the bench against the Hawks.

Bobby Portis will suit up on Thursday against the Spurs. He’s not a recommended DFS option tonight with Gasol, Gibson and Mirotic all healthy, as he’s not likely to see enough court time to make himself valuable. Gasol is a very nice upside GPP target tonight that will go underowned with Alex Len and Al Horford in better spots, while Gibson is more of a deep-GPP play if you’re looking for a low-owned option at the PF spot. Both Mirotic and Dunleavy remain viable SF punt plays.

Bradley Beal was not able to practice on Thursday but has been getting better. If Beal misses the game, Garrett Temple will start against the Jazz. Temple is a low-end DFS play on a full slate and his value is hindered by Marcus Thornton’s arrival. Thorton was picked up by the Wizards after they waived Gary Neal and he was able to practice today. Thornton is primarily a scorer and could be a viable punt option with his minimum salary.

Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili will both be available tonight after resting on Tuesday. Duncan and Ginobili are both low-end DFS options but deserve some consideration on a four-game slate. Ginobili is likely to see the least amount of minutes with Kevin Martin officially available. Martin is not available in DFS so the first time to use him will be on Saturday.

Tony Parker was probable for tonight’s game and has been confirmed as playing. Parker will start against the Bulls tonight and should be considered a solid punt option on a four-game slate. Andre Miller will go back to the bench and will be a low-end option with Patty Mills also active.

Norris Cole missed Wednesday’s game with a sore back and is questionable for Friday. If Cole misses, Orlando Johnson would likely start in his place but is not a DFS option against the Grizzlies. Alexis Ajinca has already been ruled out due to his injured sternum, giving Kendrick Perkins some more playing time. With Perkins at a minimum salary for Friday, he is an extremely low-end option that does not possess much upside.
