Bobby Portis (eye) probable for Thursday
Bobby Portis suffered an eye injury on Monday but is probable for tonight. With Taj Gibson and Nikola Mirotic healthy, Portis does not have much upside. Portis is a low-end punt play and he will need to secure over 26 minutes to really be viable.

DeMarcus Cousins suspended for one game by the Kings
DeMarcus Cousins has been suspended for one game for conduct detrimental to the team. Cousins will miss Friday’s contest against the Magic and Willie Cauley-Stein will likely start in his place. With Nikola Vucevic already ruled out of that game, WCS will make for an elite punt option. DraftKings has already released salaries for Friday and Willie Cauley-Stein is listed at $3,000. Expect him to be a chalky but high-upside play with Kosta Koufos also receiving a bump in value with Cousins out.

O.J. Mayo will miss the rest of the season with a fracture in his leg and may opt for surgery. Mayo had been starting for Milwaukee up until last night, but wasn’t seeing much court time and was basically supplanted by Giannis Antetokounmpo as the primary ballhandler with the first unit. Jerryd Bayless should continue to start at PG for the foreseeable future and he’ll be a viable punt play until his price spikes up. Bayless’ usage won’t be as high with the starters, but he’ll see an increase in court time.

Jimmy Butler resuming workouts today, will return "when appropriate"
This piece of news is a bit perplexing as it’s unclear what Butler’s timetable really is, but it doesn’t appear that he’ll be back in uniform for tomorrow’s game (he’s already been ruled out for tonight). Some early reports have him missing the next 3-4 weeks. While he’s out, expect the offense to continue to run through Pau Gasol and Derrick Rose, while E’Twaun Moore will see an uptick in minutes at the SG spot. Nikola Mirotic has also recently returned and makes for a solid upside play tonight while his price is still down, as does Mike Dunleavy. The Bulls are a risky team to target tonight against San Antonio, and it doesn’t help that they also play tomorrow (which may cause them to give a lighter load to the starters). With that said, Pau Gasol is still a very nice play at the center spot while Mirotic and Dunleavy are viable SF GPP punt plays.

There isn’t much in the way of DFS relevance to take from this news, but the T’Wolves have listed Greg Smith as probable and Nemanja Bjelica as questionable. Smith should be expected to take on around 10 minutes off the bench, and that number could drop a bit if Bjelica is able to return. Neither player is DFS viable. Kevin Garnett and Nikola Pekovic have both been officially ruled out.

Lou Williams is likely to miss tonight’s game against the Cavs with a hamstring injury. With Williams likely out of the lineup, Marcelo Huertas will once again be a viable punt play. Huertas has averaged 22.45 DKFP over his last four games, showing that he does not have a huge ceiling. With Bryant having a chance to play tonight, Huertas should really only be considered in tournaments. The Cavs are playing on the second night of a back-to-back so there is a chance that the Lakers do keep this one close.

Elfrid Payton’s status for Friday is still up in the air. If he’s unable to play, Victor Oladipo gets a slight bump in value while Brandon Jennings would get the biggest bump among the backup PGs. We’ll know more about Payton’s status after tomorrow’s shootaround.

Sullinger missed a few practices this week after being hospitalized with a skin infection, and as a result of that he’s dealt with dehydration over the past few days. He was able to play 21 minutes last night and was productive while he was on the floor, but he didn’t play late in the game with the Celtics ahead comfortably. Assuming Kelly Olynyk remains out on Friday, Sullinger should push for 25-28 minutes, making him a viable GPP play considering his solid per minute numbers.

It’s been the same story with Kobe over the past week. His status for tonight remains up in the air, although he likely won’t play more than 25 minutes in the event that he’s able to suit up. If he’s unable to go tonight against the Cavs, both D’Angelo Russell and Jordan Clarkson would see a bump in value with increased court time and usage. Nick Young or Metta World Peace would likely draw the start at SF.

Scott is attending to the birth of his child so his absence is definitely justifiable. He hasn’t been a viable DFS option for some time as he hasn’t topped 15 FanDuel fpts in his last eight games.

Nikola Vucevic will not play for Orlando on Friday
Vucevic will remain out for the Magic on Friday with his groin injury. Jason Smith got the start last time out for the team and will be a viable, but somewhat untrustworthy, punt option. He played 23 minutes last game and put up a paltry 13.4 FanDuel fpts in that time frame. Dewayne Dedmon will receive more playing time as well and could be a under the radar punt play after putting up 20 FanDuel fpts in just 19 minutes last game.

Nothing official until Chalmers undergoes an MRI later today but initial fears are that he has ruptured his Achilled which would likely mean the end of his season. With Mike Conley already battling with injuries it could mean a big opportunity (and value) for recently signed Briante Weber. Lance Stephenson should also see an uptick in playing time. We’ll update once the results of the MRI come back.

Chris Johnson has been confirmed as the starter for tonight’s contest with the Warriors. Johnson is a viable punt option tonight on the late slate. He should be able to exceed value on his minimum salary on Wednesday.

With Ben McLemore and Marco Belinelli out of the lineup tonight, Darren Collison will be starting. Collison should be considered an elite punt option and should see over 30 minutes again tonight. If you can late-swap him into your lineups he is worth a roster spot.

Andre Iguodala has been confirmed for tonight and should be on the floor tonight. With Iguodala returning Brandon Rush’s value takes a significant hit and he is no longer a DFS option. Iguodala is not a strong DFS option either and should see about 25 minutes tonight.
