Kirk Hinrich and Mike Dunleavy starting on Monday
Kirk Hinrich will start at PG with Derrick Rose out, and Mike Dunleavy will draw the start at SF with E’Twaun Moore starting at SG for Jimmy Butler. While he’s a starter on a shorthanded team, Hinrich still isn’t a recommended fantasy option – his backup, Aaron Brooks, has the higher ceiling and is the more intriguing GPP target. Moore should see all the run he can handle and he’s an excellent punt play across the industry, while Dunleavy isn’t a recommended DFS play.

Derrick Rose ruled out on Monday
Derrick Rose mentioned being sore all over and will rest tonight. Rose is expected to play against the Hawks on Wednesday. With Rose out of the lineupm Kirk Hinrich will get the start but he is only a low-end DFS option. Look for E’Twuan Moore and Aaron Brooks to pick up the slack in the backcourt while Pau Gasol should get some more shots as well.

Ben McLemore will miss tonight’s game with his wrist injury and Marco Belinelli will start in his place. Belinelli is a good play against the Cavs but should only be used in tournaments. Belinelli has a low floor so he is a risky player if his shot is not falling. With the Kings playing their third game in four nights, Belinelli might not have his legs under him tonight.

Rudy Gay was initially ruled out of tonight’s game against the Cavs but will now start. Gay is a risky option coming off an injury and should be used sparingly in tournaments, if at all. Gay is best utilized when Cousins goes down but with Cousins in the lineup tonight his Gay’s high salary is tough to fit into rosters. With a ten-game slate there are plenty of other options.

The twin towers of Minnesota continue to impress (yes, we just dubbed that term) with Kevin Garnett out of the lineup. Gorgui Dieng and Karl-Anthony Towns have had a very impressive two weeks and their prices have reflected that. Where KAT is a bit pricey on FanDuel, he is still a viable option on both sites, however Dieng is arguably a better value dollar-for-dollar as his price is still fairly low for the production he has been putting up. They get another great matchup tonight vs. the Pelicans who are 29th in the league vs. opposing centers and both Dieng and Towns are solid options tonight. While KAT probably has a better upside and should be considered for tournaments, Dieng is a nice mid-range option a C and has a very high floor given his price making him a great cash game option. Dieng is more appealing on FanDuel at only $6,100 and KAT is a little more appealing on DraftKings at $8,200, but both are great options no matter what site you are on.

Wesley Johnson will start for the resting Paul Pierce tonight
Wesley Johnson will be starting for the resting Paul Pierce tonight. Wesley Johnson is a strong punt option tonight against the Sixers. Johnson has a really weak jumper but picks up a good amount of peripheral stats helping his DFS value. While he does not have huge upside the starting position should allow for him to have a solid floor. Lance Stephenson is now also a DFS option and should be considered for those looking to save at SF. Stephenson is an erratic tournament option tonight but has a chance to exceed value if he gets a bunch of garbage time.

As noted earlier O.J. Mayo is probable for Tuesday but now the injury report has been updated with Jerryd Bayless also probable. Both players are low-end options on a short slate for Tuesday. The Bucks host the Celtics making both Mayo and Bayless risky tournament options.

PG is by far the deepest position today as there are seven to eight guys that are very viable plays on the evening. However, if you did want to spend down so that you could spend on another position then Emmanuel Mudiay poses a great argument to be considered on Monday. Since Jameer Nelson has been out, Mudiay has been seeing all the minutes he can handle and that shouldn’t change since Nelson is doubtful today. Mudiay has been playing 30+ minutes a game and he is producing while he is in the game. He has put up 18 shots in the last two games and while he may not hit that number again tonight, at only $5,600 on DraftKings he doesn’t necessarily have to just rely on scoring to reach value. The Nets have been really bad at defending the PG since losing Jarrett Jack for the season and they rank 3rd to last in DvP vs. PG. Mudiay is in a great spot to reach value again tonight and offers a cheap option if you want to pay up for one of the top tier PGs tonight.
Robert Sacre starting for the injured Roy Hibbert
Robert Sacre will be starting tonight for Roy Hibbert. Sacre is a tough option to recommend tonight but is a viable punt play due to his minimum salary. Sacre will likely not see over 20 minutes but if he can stay out of foul trouble he has a chance to exceed value. With Sacre starting, Tarik Black will be his backup and is a viable option as well. Julius Randle will likely play most of the minutes at PF tonight so Byron Scott could have Brandon Bass also playing center alongside him. The Pacers are a team we like to target big men against but the only sure thing is Randle, with the other three players only being low-end tournament options.
Kevin Love confirmed as playing tonight
As noted earlier, Kevin Love was probable but now has been confirmed as playing tonight. Expect Love to resume his starting position and make for an under-owned option tonight. Love is an elite option tonight against the Kings but should only be used in tournaments as the Cavs are projected to win by 12+ points.

Ish Smith will be in the starting lineup for the Sixers tonight but will be restricted to 24 minutes. This makes Ish Smith an extremely risky fantasy option tonight and should be avoided on a ten-game slate. T.J. McConnell will play behind him but his fantasy value takes a bit of a hit also coming off the bench. McConnell would have been a stronger DFS play if he was starting but now should only be considered a tournament option with Smith back in the lineup.

Tim Duncan has now been upgraded but is not guaranteed to play on Tuesday. If Duncan returns to the lineup look for his minutes to be limited as he works his way back into game shape. LaMarcus Aldridge will likely move back over to PF, sending David West back to the bench. Look for an update tomorrow on the status of Duncan.

D’Angelo Russell has been listed as questionable with a groin injury which means Jordan Clarkson will likely see extended minutes at point guard tonight. Clarkson is averaging 29.66 FPs on DK over his last three games, which would allow him to exceed value on his $5,300 salary tonight. Clarkson does have a tough matchup in George Hill but if the Lakers are to keep it close, Clarkson will have to have a huge part in it. If Russell ends up missing the game Marcelo Huertas will likely get back in the rotation and pick up the backup PG minutes. Huertas is not a viable punt option as his offensive game is limited and he is usually only looking to rack up assists.

Roy Hibbert has been listed as doubtful for tonight with a sprained ankle. With Lakers Coach Byron Scott being completely irrational, it’ll be tough to know who he will start in his place. Robert Sacre started the second half against the Spurs on Saturday but Tarik Black is still a possibility. Black has the higher upside and we can also see the Lakers bring in Brandon Bass for some extended minutes tonight. Bass saw the most minutes out of those three players on Saturday and will likely see around 28-30 minutes tonight if the Lakers can keep it close. Bass, Black, and Sacre are only tournament options and should be used sparingly.

Tyreke Evans has been confirmed as out for tonight’s game against the Timberwolves. This will mark the seventh consecutive game that Evans has missed and Bryce Dejean-Jones will likely make another start in his place. The Pelicans are taking a cautious approach to Evans with Norris Cole and Jrue Holiday playing well for them at PG. BDJ is still a viable punt play but does not hold much upside on DK at a $4.5K salary. Norris Cole has a better chance of exceeding value and has scored over 33FPs in three of his last four games. Jrue Holiday will likely be under-owned due to his elevated salary but makes for a good option in a game currently projected at a 212 O/U.
