Carmelo Anthony ruled out Tuesday; Lance Thomas is available
Carmelo Anthony will not play tonight against the Thunder. His absence will lead to added opportunities for Kristaps Porzingis and Derrick Williams, both of whom are strong DFS targets due to this news. Lance Thomas is available to play which may eat into Williams’ production, but Williams is still a strong play in what may end up turning into a lopsided game with Melo inactive. Porzingis is now viable in any format.

Robert Covington starting alonside Smith, Stauskas, Grant and Noel on Tuesday
Robert Covington will start at SF on Tuesday with Jakarr Sampson and Jahlil Okafor both out of the lineup due to illnesses. He’s a very strong punt play in all formats now that his path to minutes has been cleared. Covington should see upwards of 32-35 minutes and at $5,100 on FanDuel, it’s very hard to fade him in cash games despite his volatility.

George Hill will return to the starting lineup tonight after coming off the bench in his previous game. George Hill does possess a nice upside and had been playing well before leaving the team for the birth of his child. Vegas projects the game to be decided by only one point, making Hill a nice under-owned option with 35 minutes likely. There is a chance that Hill will take on a bigger offensive role with Paul George mentioning the struggles with his leg. Ian Mahinmi will also be back in the starting lineup but is not much of a DFS option with his limited minutes.

Sixers starting Nik Staukas at SG
Nik Stauskas will draw the start at SG with Jakarr Sampson ruled out and Isaiah Canaan unlikely to play. Stauskas had a nice run earlier in the month as the starter, but his ceiling is still limited since he doesn’t contribute much outside of pure scoring. He’s a dart-throw GPP play if you need to go cheap at SG. Robert Covington also figures to benefit in terms of playing time due to Sampson, Okafor and Canaan’s ailments.

Ian Mahinmi will be back in the starting lineup tonight but will be limited to 6 minutes stints. Mahinmi has an injured ankle so the team is taking a cautious approach hoping it does not turn into a long-term issue. With Mahinmi returning, both Jordan Hill and Myles Turner will see a dip in production. Mahinmi will likely not exceed value and the time share makes it tough to recommend any other Pacers big men in a good match up.

Jakarr Sampson has been ruled out Tuesday due to an illness. With Jahlil Okafor also out and Isaiah Canaan unlikely to play, the Sixers are going to be fairly shorthanded. Nerlens Noel gets the biggest bump without Okafor in the lineup, and he now becomes a very strong GPP target given his mid-range price tag. Jerami Grant also gets a boost in value, but it’s worth noting he’s also dealing with an illness. With Canaan and Sampson expected to sit, Robert Covington remains a very strong value play tonight. Nik Stauskas should also see increased run.

Jahlil Okafor (illness) will not play in either of the Sixers next two games. His absence will lead to Nerlens Noel shifting up to the center spot – Noel now becomes a very strong GPP target as his minutes count should rise along with his other counting stats. He always has a high ceiling due to his ability to rack up defensive stats in a hurry. Jerami Grant is also dealing with an illness but is expected to start at PF, although the Sixers have yet to name the starting SF. We’d expect Robert Covington to get the nod, but he’s a strong DFS target regardless due to the absence of Jakarr Sampson and Isaiah Canaan. Hollis Thompson is the other option the Sixers could choose to start at SF.

Raul Neto has been ruled out with a concussion meaning Trey Burke will likely start in his place. Burke has been playing better than Neto for most of the season but has been coming off the bench. Burke has been on a cold streak recently but should be able to exceed value in a starting position. Burke should see about 30 minutes against the Hornets with no real depth behind him.

Reports earlier had listed both as ‘out’ for tomorrow’s game, but the Timberwolves official injury report has both listed as ‘doubtful’ to play. While we still very much expect both to sit, there now appears to be a sliver of hope that one or both is able to take the court. Martin is probably the more likely of the two to suit up, but he’s still a long shot.

Nicolas Batum and Jeremy Lamb are both suffering from toe issues but have been upgraded to questionable for tomorrow’s game. If Batum and Lamb are to return that would send Jeremy Lin back to the bench and reduce Troy Daniels value. Cody Zeller has a shoulder injury and will continue to be sidelined for an extended period of time. Spencer Hawes will continue to start in his place with Frank Kaminsky playing his backup. Both players are only tournament options due to their matchup with the Jazz. Look for an update tomorrow on Lamb and Batum.

Tim Duncan has been ruled out of Wednesday’s contest against the Rockets. David West will likely start in his place again and makes for a viable option. West played well against the Warriors last night but was pulled due to the blowout. Look for West to play about 24-28 minutes against the Rockets. His salary has not been released yet on DK, so there is a chance it will be inflated with him starting.

Dwight Howard has missed three games with an ankle injury but has been upgraded for Wednesday’s contest against the Spurs. Howard’s return would move Clint Capela back to PF and kill most of the DFS value Terrence Jones and Josh Smith held. Additionally, Corey Brewer would also be moved back to the bench with Ariza moving back to his natural SF position. Nothing has been confirmed but with a game on ESPN looming, there is a chance that Howard is announced the starter in pregame warmups.

Kris Humphries is listed as ‘out’ for tonight’s game with the Raptors. He’s missed the past 10 games and tonight’s game will mark #11, so not much is changing with the Wizards rotation. Nene and Gortat will continue to start in the front-court with Jared Dudley and Drew Gooden providing depth off the bench. Nene is an interesting GPP target tonight matched up against Luis Scola, and Marcin Gortat is in play for cash games due to his propensity to post regular double-doubles.

Archie Goodwin and Devin Booker should both see big minutes tonight with Brandon Knight out of action. Goodwin is averaging 40 minutes per game over his last two contests and sits at just $4,100 on FanDuel, making him a plug-and-play cash game option. Booker isn’t far behind as his FD price is still lagging, so he’s a strong cash game option as well and does have some tournament upside as he likely won’t be as popular as Goodwin. P.J. Tucker should continue to play 35+ minutes, while Chandler and Len both have big upside relative to their prices. All of the Suns starters are squarely in play tonight.

Jon Leuer is listed as doubtful, but will reportedly go through his pre-game routine to see how his back feels.
