Markieff Morris will play, but expected to come off the bench
Markieff Morris is expected to play tonight, but it’s looking like he’s going to come off the bench with Chandler and Len starting in the front-court. Morris had a 33.8% usage rate in the only game he suited up without Brandon Knight in the lineup, so if something changes that shifts Morris into the starting five, he’s a fairly strong punt play tonight and may be a deep-GPP option off the bench. Morris’ presence does muddy the waters for Chandler and Len, as their minutes are not nearly as secure with Morris and Mirza Teletovic possibly suiting up.

Kevin Martin, Kevin Garnett both ruled out for Wednesday
Both Kevin Martin and Kevin Garnett have been ruled out for Wednesday. With Garnett out, Nikola Pekovic has slid into the starting five, but he’s basically played an identical role to Garnett. Despite the fact that his minutes restriction was supposed to rise last night, Pek saw just 13 minutes of court time while Gorgui Dieng saw 26 minutes of run with Nemanja Bjelica also seeing more court time (16 minutes). Both Dieng and Pekovic are recommended fades until more time frees up in the front-court. With Martin out, Shabazz Muhammad should continue seeing around 30 minutes of run off the bench, which keeps him squarely in play as a GPP option. He’s especially appealing on FanDuel where he was priced at just $4,200 last night.

Things aren’t looking good for Blake Griffin. He’s been sidelined for the last few weeks and just when his return seemed imminent, he breaks his hand in a fight with a team employee. Griffin is expected to miss 4-6 weeks as a result. His absence will lead to continued run for the variety of wings (Mbah a Moute, Pierce and Johnson), as it’s tough for the Clippers to give Cole Aldrich run alongside DeAndre Jordan. Chris Paul will continue to see an uptick in usage rate with Griffin out, and he remains an elite upside play almost every time he takes the court.

E’Twaun Moore (hamstring) is hopeful to play Thursday after sitting out this past Monday. His return will be welcomed with Derrick Rose banged up and Kirk Hinrich ruled out, so it’s feasible that he ends up with 18-20 minutes of court time off the bench if Rose ends up inactive. Moore still isn’t a DFS option regardless.

Goran Dragic is now being listed as questionable for tonight. It still appears more likely that he’ll sit out, which would lead to Beno Udrih drawing another start. Udrih saw just 21 minutes of court time in his first game back last night and didn’t produce a strong fantasy line, but he may have needed a game to get his feet back under him. If Dragic sits, Udrih is an option as a punt play, but know that the floor and ceiling for Udrih are both fairly low. With Hassan Whiteside and Josh McRoberts ruled out, Amar’e Stoudemire may end up drawing another start at center alongside Chris Bosh. Bosh is the strongest target on the Miami side tonight.

Derrick Rose’s status for Thursday remains uncertain. He was still sore as of today and isn’t taking any contact in practice, so there still seems to be a good shot that he sits out on Thursday. Assuming he’s unable to go, Jimmy Butler becomes an even stronger play as he takes on more of the ball-handling duties, while Aaron Brooks will act as the back-up. Kirk Hinrich has already been ruled out and E’Twaun Moore’s status is also murky, so the Bulls could have a very shorthanded backcourt.

Canaan’s wrist is still bothering him and he is considered questionable for the 76ers tonight in their game against the Phoenix Suns. Canaan only played 15 minutes in their game last night and is best avoided for purposes of DFS if he does play tonight. If Canaan can’t go, it’d likely be TJ McConnell and starter Ish Smith who would pick up Canaan’s minutes. Smith is a top match up and McConnell would be a good value option in a juicy match up against a injury depleted Suns team that appears to have given up on their season. We’ll update you on Canaan’s status as his situation becomes clearer.

Goran Dragic out again for Heat tonight
Dragic has missed his last seven games and will miss another one tonight when the Heat take on the Brooklyn Nets. The Nets are 28th in PG DvP meaning it’s a good match up for whomever will get minutes for the Heat at PG. Beno Udrih should get the start and would appear to be an excellent value option as he is priced at $4K or less on both FanDuel and DraftKings. However that was what many thought yesterday as well and Udrih only put up 10 DraftKings fantasy points in 20 minutes of play so understand that just because he’s starting will it guarantee production. Before Udrih returned from injury, Tyler Johnson had been seeing the bulk of the minutes at the point but he too has been underwhelming as he’s only topped 15 DK fantasy points once in his last four games despite averaging 32 minutes a game of playing time. There are better options out there tonight but the match up does make both players punt considerations if you’re looking for some value.

Adams looked good in shootaround according to reports and while he is a game time decision for the Thunder in their game tonight against the Knicks, it’s expected that he will play. Adams is a consistent, safe play that will put up around 20 fantasy points a game but his upside is limited. If he can’t go, Enes Kanter would be the biggest beneficiary but his problem is the opposite of Adams in that he is very inconsistent but has upside. There are better options on the slate even though the Knicks are below average (18th in center DvP) at defending the position. We’ll update you on Adams status when we learn more.

Devin Harris and Zaza Pachulia are both listed by the Mavericks as doubtful for their game tonight against the Los Angeles Lakers. Jeremy Evans is probable after missing the past four games and Salah Mejri is listed as the probable starter for Pachulia. Mejri is an intriguing option at the center position if Pachulia can’t go. The Lakers are 29th in center DvP and Mejri is $3,900 at FanDuel and $3,500 on DraftKings. He got the start in the Mavericks last game and put up a double double in 29 minutes of play and was praised by Head Coach Rick Carlisle for his efforts. We’ll update you on Pachulia’s status but if he sits, don’t be afraid to fire Mejri into your lineups.

Mahinmi participated in the team shootaround for the Pacers today and is considered a game time decision for their game against the Clippers. Fortunately the Pacers are at home today and it’s one of the first games in the slate so we should know before rosters lock what his status is. If he is unable to go, Myles Turner becomes an excellent option as he has put up some excellent games of late. He’s put up at least 26 FanDuel fantasy points in his last four games including two that topped 40. We’ll update you on Mahinmi when we learn more.

After coming off the bench the game after his son was born, Hill will get the start tonight against the Clippers. It’s not the best match up for Hill as he has to face Chris Paul (the Clippers are 7th in PG DvP) but he’s more in play as a starter than coming off the bench as his minutes will increase.

Gay was poked in the eye by Kemba Walker last night and will miss Tuesday’s game due to the injury. Gay had just returned after missing two games with a heel injury, so look for Gay to try and return Thursday against the Pelicans. Omri Casspi will likely start again in Gay’s place and makes for decent tournament play. Casspi put up 27 FPs and was not able to exceed value in the double-OT game last night. Casspi will likely see 28-32 minutes again tonight but does not provide much upside at this price.

Bradley Beal OUT tonight with broken nose
Beal suffered a broken nose in his last game and will miss tonight’s game against the Toronto Raptors. Garrett Temple will likely get the start and is in consideration as a value play – he performed well when given the opportunity before Beal returned earlier this month.

David West has been confirmed as the starter tonight in place of Tim Duncan. West should see about 24-28 minutes tonight and worth a play at his $4k salary on DK. Boris Diaw will likely see the other 24 minutes that are available and he also makes for a good punt option in what should be a high-scoring game.
