Kenneth Faried starting tonight's game
Kenneth Faried will return to the lineup tonight after missing one game due to a groin injury. Faried’s return to the lineup will send Darrell Arthur back to the bench, reducing most of his DFS value. Faried is a good play on DK if you can late-swap him in due to his news coming after lineups locked. The Hawks struggle to rebound the ball and Faried is known as a ferocious rebounder.

Jameer Nelson ruled out again, Kenneth Faried GTD
Jameer Nelson has been ruled out of tonight’s contest and Emmanuel Mudiay will start in his place. Mudiay is a solid option with all the minutes he has been receiving lately. Atlanta has also been struggling on their current road trip and this could be the night Mudiay explodes. Mudiay has exceeded value in his last four starts and should be able to tonight as well.

Tony Allen will return to the starting lineup at SF moving Matt Barnes back to the bench. Allen does most of his damage with defensive stats and rebounds so he should only be used in tournaments. With Allen getting put into the starting lineup after lineups locked he will be an under-owned option tonight. Allen’s upside is limited due to the fact that both Matt Barnes and Jeff Green are healthy tonight.

Derrick Favors has been upgraded to probable tonight but no word has been given if he will start. Favors has been out a long time so he will likely be on a minutes restriction in his return. Favors return to the lineup will hurt Trey Lyles fantasy value thus Lyles should be removed from any lineups on DK. Trey Lyles will continue to start but this game will likely be his last.

Tony Allen will return to the lineup tonight but has not been confirmed as starting. The game starting in about a half hour so we should get news soon. Marc Gasol has been dealing with some knee soreness but not miss a game and start tonight. Tony Allen is a tournament option while Gasol is a solid cash and GPP play due to the weakness of the Orlando interior.

The Heat will use the fourth different starting lineup in four games tonight. Beno Udrih will return to the backcourt with Dwyane Wade and is a viable punt PG option against the Bulls. Luol Deng, Chris Bosh, and Amar’e Stoudemire will be in the frontcourt tonight with Stoudemire likely not playing over 20 minutes. Deng will make for an under-owned option due to his absence with an eye injury. Bosh is a GPP play only tonight due to his tough match up with Taj Gibson of the Bulls.

Nikola Pekovic will be inserted into the starting lineup tonight with Kevin Garnett out. Pekovic will likely only see about 20 minutes tonight and should only be used in tournaments. Pekovic is at a minimum salary so getting him in there could help you stack other studs. Pekovic is still a risky option and should only be used sparingly.

Tristan Thompson has been inserted into the starting lineup tonight ahead of Timofey Mozgov. Mozgov has been struggling lately and new Cavs Coach Ty Lue had suggested he wants to play more uptempo. Thompson is only $4,700 on DK and is a tough late swap option due to the news coming out so late. The Cavs are in the first game of the night so Thompson will still likely be under-owned.

Kevin Martin is a late scratch tonight which will likely confirm Shabazz Muhammad will receive about 30 minutes tonight. Muhammad has increased his fantasy output for five consecutive games and his salary is still only $4,500 on DraftKings. Muhammad could see major minutes if anyone in the starting unit gets into foul trouble guarding LeBron James.

The Houston Rockets are the only team to be playing a back-to-back on this slate of games tonight. I’m not sure how Coach Bickerstaff is going to handle it, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see him rest some of his veterans that logged heavy minutes last night a little bit and this includes Trevor Ariza. Ariza played 39 minutes last night and exploded for 29 real-life points and had a great game overall. A lot of people are on Ariza tonight, but if you look elsewhere for the Rockets, Corey Brewer has been playing a steadily increasing amount of minutes. Last night he played 27 minutes and we may be able to project him for around 30 minutes tonight especially if Bickerstaff elects to rest Ariza a little more. Brewer has been pretty consistent over the last week and a half and may get overlooked tonight.
Dwight Howard (ankle) confirmed out on Monday
Dwight Howard has been ruled out on Monday and his next shot to return will be Wednesday. The Rockets will start Clint Capela again at C with Ariza and Brewer playing as the forwards. Ariza is coming off a great game and Brewer has been consistent over his last 5 games averaging 22.05 FPs on DK. Both players are expected to log heavy minutes but Terrence Jones should also be considered due to Anthony Davis and his size. Jones put up a dud last night but had been averaging 27.5 FPs in the three games prior to last night.

Dante Cunningham will come off the bench after missing one game with an illness. Cunningham is a boom-or-bust type of player but has a chance to do some damage tonight against the Rockets. This should be an uptempo game and Cunningham will likely be switched on to James Harden at times. Cunningham should only be considered a tournament option and a risky one at that.

With Tim Duncan out tonight in a much anticipated matchup vs. the Warriors, that leaves some playing time up for grabs in the front court for the Spurs. Last time Duncan sat out was against the Suns a couple of weeks ago and Marjanovic played 22 minutes and put up an astounding 17 points and 13 boards. Granted, the game was a blowout and that is not likely to be the case tonight vs. the Warriors, but Marjanovic is still worth a look because of his crazy production while he is on the court. Despite his potential for limited minutes, he may be worth a shot in a GPP tonight since he is so cheap. Without Duncan on the court for the Spurs this season, Marjanovic averages a wild 1.4 DK points per per minute, so that means he would only need 13 minutes to hit value at that rate. I’m not sure he will hit that 1.4 DK points per minute mark against the Warriors who defend opposing centers fairly well, but if he does end up getting 15-20 minutes of time tonight he could turn out to be a valuable option.
Otto Porter starting on Monday, Oubre back to the bench
Otto Porter will return to the starting lineup tonight against the Celtics. Porter was noted earlier as having a minutes limit but nothing has been confirmed on how many minutes he is going to receive. Porter is a GPP play only and on a large slate like tonight, his upside is not as high as others in his salary range. Kelly Oubre will return to the bench and should not be considered tonight as well. Nene will also start for the second time this season.

Kevin Garnett has a sore right knee and will not be playing tonight in Cleveland. Nikola Pekovic will likely start in his place and move Karl-Anthony Towns over to PF. Pekovic has been cleared for extended minutes today and is a minimum salaried player, making him an enticing punt play. Pekovic should see about 20 minutes but is still a GPP option only due to his inconsistent play. Pekovic has averaged 5.58 FPs over his last 3 games but has scored 15 FPs this season. His ceiling is not that high but he will make for an under-owned play at C tonight.
