Emmanuel Mudiay probable on Wednesday
Emmanuel Mudiay will likely return to the lineup on Wednesday against the Timberwolves. Mudiay has not been confirmed the starter but his return does end Jameer Nelson’s run. Mudiay will likely be on a minutes restriction, so he is not a great DFS value until he gets more minutes.

D’Angelo Russell (sore throat) will not play tonight
The Lakers have ruled out D’Angelo Russell tonight against the Warriors. Russell was questionable all day with his illness. With Russell out, look for Jordan Clarkson and Lou Williams to get some extra minutes. Marcelo Huertas could also see minutes when the game turns into a blowout. Clarkson and Williams are in good positions to make an impact tonight, but expectations should be tempered against the Warriors.

Kenneth Faried did not participate in Tuesday’s practice but looks to be good to go on Wednesday against the Timberwolves. This is actually a fairly good spot for Faried against a team that likes to run and doesn’t have a ton of athleticism at the PF spot, so he’s a viable GPP target. The problem with him is that his minutes fluctuate a lot which makes him very tough to trust, but he has been settling into around 28-30 minutes a night. Still, without his minutes climbing into the mid-thirties, his upside is capped a bit. On a related note, Jusuf Nurkic’s minutes restriction of 15 is expected to rise slightly tomorrow, which may also eat into Faried’s workload.

Jerryd Bayless (ankle) will not play on Tuesday
Jerryd Bayless twisted the same ankle last night that caused him to miss 11 games, so he has been ruled out tonight. O.J. Mayo slides over as the backup PG tonight behind Michael Carter-Williams. MCW is still a good option against the Bulls even though Derrick Rose seems to be returning. Carter-Williams’ price has risen considerably so he will need to play really well to exceed value.

Derrick Favors did not travel with the team for their two-game road trip, making it likely that he is out. The Jazz face San Antonio on Wednesday and Houston on Thursday. Rudy Gobert did travel with the team and has been warming up with the team before games. No official status has been given on his return. If Gobert ends up playing that would hamper the value of Jeff Withey and Trey Lyles. If Gobert does not play Withey and Lyles will both start, but will be risky plays against the Spurs.

Derrick Rose went through some warmups and looks ready to go. His official status will not be decided until closer to game time. Rose’s return will slightly hamper Jimmy Butler’s value, but he is still a good play tonight against the Bucks. Look for the next update with Rose’s official status.

Kevin Durant is unlikely to take the court tomorrow against the Grizzlies. His absence should lead to another start for Anthony Morrow, who saw 34 minutes against the Kings last night and responded with 24.75 DK points, so he’ll be an option as a GPP punt play assuming he draws another start. Russell Westbrook is the main beneficiary as his usage rate climbs quite a bit with Durant out of the lineup, and he’s been consistently hitting value even at very high price tags without Durant on the floor. The match-up with Memphis looks scary, but they haven’t been nearly as strong of a defensive team this year, but they still play at a fairly slow pace. Westbrook remains an elite target tomorrow, as does Serge Ibaka.

Tyreke Evans has been listed as questionable for Wednesday’s contest against the Mavs. Quincy Pondexter is also listed as questionable as well. Both players are struggling with knee injuries with Evans having the major DFS impact. Evans is expected to play but since the game is after lineups lock, he will be an under-owned player. He is a risk and Jrue Holiday looks like a better option with the cheaper price tag.

Nicolas Batum has been listed as questionable for Wednesday’s game but he will go through warmups before deciding his availability. If Batum plays, he will likely exceed value easily against the Suns. If Batum ends up sitting, Jeremey Lin should be able to play well and exceed value. Look out for news likely after lock due to the Hornets playing in Phoenix.

Jeremy Lamb is doubtful for Wednesday’s game against the Suns with a wrist and hip contusion. Lamb is coming off a productive game against the Warriors, and his production will be missed. Jeremy Lin should see an uptick in minutes and production with Nicolas Batum also listed as questionable for Wednesday. Lin is a borderline elite option against a weak defending Suns team.

Hassan Whiteside missed the last game with knee soreness and it looks like he is unsure of his return. Whiteside has been labeled as questionable for Wednesday’s game against the Knicks, but is closer to being out. Chris Andersen started in his place the last game with Amar’e Stoudemire helping out as the backup big. Both players are not DFS options on Wednesday, and Whiteside’s absence gives a boost to Chris Bosh. Bosh had 31 points and 11 rebounds last night so look for him to continue his strong play on Wednesday.

The Kings have ruled out Rondo with his back spasms tonight. Darren Collison is likely to start in his place and becomes a strong cash game play. Collison also holds some GPP appeal, but will likely be very heavily owned due to the short slate. Marco Belinelli also sees a bump in value and could play some backup PG tonight.

Nikola Pekovic has not played in a game yet this season but appears to have a decent shot to make his debut on Wednesday. He’s not going to play much in his first few games back, so he shouldn’t eat too much into the workloads of Gorgui Dieng and Karl-Anthony Towns right off the bat, but his presence will make Dieng a much tougher target even when KG sits out. Expect Pek to see 10-15 minutes in his debut and he’ll likely be limited in terms of minutes for at least a few weeks.

C.J. Miles was not able to finish last night’s contest with a shoulder injury. Miles was playing well before the injury but is now questionable to play against the Magic on Wednesday. His replacement will depend on George Hill, and if he is able to return to the starting lineup. If Hill returns look for Lavoy Allen to take Miles’ spot in the starting lineup. If Hill ends up missing the game, Rodney Stuckey has a shot at starting, with Lavoy playing PF.

Both Leandro Barbosa and James Michael McAdoo are listed as out for tonight’s game with the Lakers. This shrinks the bench a bit and may allow for more run for Ian Clark and Marresse Speights, both of whom are dart-throw GPP targets in a game that may very well get out of hand shortly after halftime. Speights has seen around 18-20 minutes with Festus Ezeli out and should push for that type of playing time again tonight assuming this game turns into a blowout.
