Jacquizz Rodgers not expected to play Sunday
Beat writer Jenna Laine used the term “long shot” when describing Rodgers’ chances of playing this weekend. He’s still in a walking boot, and isn’t able to practice. Doug Martin is still considered doubtful, which leaves Peyton Barber as the lead back for the Buccaneers. Despite his price, he’s not a great fantasy play, he only rushed for 31 yards on 11 carries last week against the Falcons. Based on his expected role and the Bucs’ matchup with the Bears, he does offer some tournament appeal on full PPR sites.

Spencer Ware has a "good chance" of playing in Week 10
Ware is currently in the concussion protocol. Coach Andy Reid is optimistic about his chances of passing through it ahead of the Chiefs’ Week 10 matchup with the Panthers. If he plays, Charcandrick West would no longer offer any fantasy value. It would be a tough matchup for Ware; Carolina ranks fifth in rush DVOA and fourth in adjusted line yards per carry (3.15), according to Football Outsiders. The only other game he’s faced a top ten rush defense was Week 3 against the Jets. He was not particularly effective, rushing for 78 yards on 20 carries, which comes out to 3.8 yards per carry.

Hyde practiced all last week in a non-contact jersey and ended up not playing. He’s started off this week the same as last making it seem as if his playing status will once again be in doubt. DuJuan Harris stepped up in a big way for the team last week and would be the likely workhorse again if Hyde can’t go. However the match up is much tougher going against a Cardinals defense that is top 10 in the league in RB Rush DVOA.

LeSean McCoy officially active for Monday night
He faces a Seattle defense that’s allowed 100-yard rushers in consecutive weeks. He’ll get a ton of volume as the Seahawks have an elite secondary, and the Bills’ receiving corps is thin. Percy Harvin will also be active, but it’s unclear how much he’ll actually play. Reggie Bush, Robert Woods, and Charles Clay are all active as well; all three will have a tough time producing tonight.

Cruz exited Sunday’s game in the second quarter after injuring his ankle. Fortunately, his MRI came back with positive results, and he shouldn’t miss too much time, if any at all. Cruz hasn’t had much fantasy value this year; he hasn’t scored a touchdown since Week 1, and hasn’t gone over 70 yards since Week 2. Even though New York is going against a poor Bengals’ pass defense this weekend, he won’t be a great option if he plays.

Even though Tim Hightower started against the 49ers and out-touched him 24 to 17, Ingram had 171 total yards and two touchdowns Sunday. Both backs should continue to get work, but Ingram should reclaim the lead role in the Saints offense. The Saints host the Broncos this week as 1.5-point favorites. It’s a great spot for Ingram to go off again as Denver has really struggled to stop the run this season. In Week 9, Latavius Murray rushed for 114 yards and three touchdowns against them. On the season, Denver is allowing 128.6 rushing yards per game, which is the fourth-most in the NFL. Football Outsiders ranks their defensive line 23rd in adjusted line yards per carry (4.05). Ingram should still be plenty motivated this weekend, and the high game total of 49 points is a nice bonus. Given Denver’s strong pass defense, it would make sense for New Orleans to attack them on the ground. Ingram should get plenty of opportunities, and has a great chance to be effective with them.
Steve Smith (ankle) misses practice Monday
In his first game since Week 5, Smith had four receptions for 47 yards against the Steelers on Sunday. Baltimore has a short week as they prepare to play the Browns on Thursday night. Today was most likely a rest day for Smith, and he’s still expected to suit up for the Ravens. It’s an excellent matchup as the Browns have one of the worst pass defenses in football. Cleveland has allowed 22 passing touchdowns, the second most in the league.

Henry didn’t touch the ball in Week 9, and it turns out it was because he strained his calf while warming up. After he had an MRI, coach Mike Mularkey said Henry could miss a day or two weeks. It’s more of a pain tolerance thing than anything else, so they’re going to take it day by day. He probably won’t play this weekend, but we won’t know for sure until later this week. Either way, DeMarco Murray will continue to be the workhorse back for the Titans. If Henry plays, his volume would be game-flow dependent.

Evans is still in the concussion protocol, but he’s expected to play Sunday. Winston exited Thursday’s game with an apparent knee injury, although it doesn’t seem serious at all. They’ll take on the Bears in Week 10, who rank 12th in pass DVOA, despite being banged up in the secondary. Evans is coming off a huge two-touchdown game, and he’ll get plenty of targets again this weekend.

Coach Todd Bowles said he wanted Fitzpatrick to be able to practice by Friday in order to play this weekend against the Rams. If he can’t go, Bryce Petty would get the start. Neither quarterback will be a viable fantasy options. The Rams rank 15th in pass DVOA, according to Football Outsiders, and the game total is set at 41 points, the lowest on the board. It’ll be a nice spot to target the Rams’ defense, especially if Petty is under center. They’re coming off a five-sack performance against the Panthers. If they can put that type of pressure on Petty, who has only dropped back twice in his career, it could turn into some serious fantasy goodness for LA’s DST.

Rodgers was still in a walking boot, and seems doubtful for Week 10. Martin is also unlikely to play, but more on the questionable side of things. Last week, Coach Dirk Koetter was optimistic that Martin could return this Sunday. We’ll have more information when they practice Wednesday. As of now, it looks like Peyton Barber will get the start and the bulk of the work against the Bears. Chicago’s run defense has been decent. Only two running backs have exceeded 75 yards against them, Ezekiel Elliot (140) and Lamar Miller (106).

Sproles has out-snapped Ryan Mathews 123 to 16 over the past two weeks. According to Coach Doug Pederson, he’s now considered their “number one back.” Sproles has averaged 18 touches and 89 total yards over the last two games, but didn’t score a touchdown (he has just one total on the season). Fortunately, he’ll have a very nice matchup this weekend when the Eagles host the Falcons. Atlanta has allowed the second most receptions (9.2) and receiving yards (62.4) to running backs, and Sproles in an excellent receiver out of the backfield. Football outsiders ranks their defensive line 21st in adjusted line yards per carry (4.01), which means sproles could find some running room against them as well. Over 59 carries this season, Sproles has averaged 4.8 ypc.

Despite being removed from the injury report, Montgomery (sickle cell) was still limited in Week 9. It’s not clear whether that will be the case in Week 10 or not, but it’s definitely a situation worth monitoring (again). Randall Cobb was limited as well, but he could return to a full complement of snaps this weekend. James Starks may also make his return if he has a good week of practice.

The Bills have expected all along that McCoy would play tonight against the Seahawks and that continues to be the case. It’s a tough game going on the road against one of the best defenses in the NFL but if you’re playing the small two game slate, McCoy has to be an option.

Redskins Head Coach Gruden stated that Rob Kelley will continue to get the bulk of the carries and that Matt Jones will have to earn his way back into that role. Regardless of who takes the field for the Redskins this week it’s an unenviable match up going against the tough Minnesota Vikings defense.
