Jeremy Maclin (groin) listed as questionable
Maclin was injured while practicing this week, which caused him to miss Thursday’s session. He was back in a limited fashion on Friday, but his status for Week 9 is still uncertain. Nick Foles is starting at quarterback for the Chiefs on Sunday. Last week, Maclin caught a touchdown pass from Foles, his first touchdown since Week 1. While Alex Smith is a better quarterback, he is more conservative than Foles and spreads the ball around a ton. Maclin only had one game with more than eight targets heading into Week 8. If he plays, he could see an uptick in opportunities with Foles under center.

Carlos Hyde (shoulder) listed as questionable
Hyde is truly questionable for this matchup, and we probably won’t know if he’s playing until Sunday. If he plays, he’s a risk as his injury may limit his ability to lower his shoulder to pick up extra yards, or score at the goal line. He’s definitely still in play though as San Francisco plays the Saints this weekend. New Orleans has allowed the most rushing touchdowns this season (12). If he doesn’t play DuJuan Harris, Mike Davis, and Shaun Draughn all figure to get touches, and their individual shares may be hard to predict. However, there has been word out of the 49ers’ camp that the coaching staff really likes Harris. He would be the lead back in Hyde’s absence and, given their opponent, is worth consideration in tournaments.

Cooper has been limited in practice all week, but he’ll be ready to go against the Broncos this weekend. Denver will be without Aqib Talib (back), which is a small bump for Cooper. He’ll still have has work cut out for him as the Broncos’ secondary remains elite without Talib in their lineup. Last week without Talib, the Broncos held Philip Rivers to a 31.1 QBR (per ESPN), and forced three interceptions. San Diego didn’t have a single receiver over go over 72 yards. Oakland has become a 1.5-point favorite in the matchup due to some reverse line movement against the Broncos (the line opened as a pick’em and 80% of all wagers have been placed on Denver), but their implied team total is still just 22.75 points.

Coleman will suit up for the first time since breaking his hand in Week 2. It’ll be interesting to see his chemistry with rookie quarterback Cody Kessler, as both are considered to be major parts of Cleveland’s future. Pryor had taken over as the number one receiver in Coleman’s absence, but his role could potentially change as Coleman returns to 100%. In both games Coleman and Pryor played together, Pryor had more targets , but Coleman had more receptions, yards, and touchdowns. Coleman is better served in tournament lineups this week, while Pryor can be considered in any format against a banged up Cowboys’ secondary.

Parker (hamstring) and Landry (shoulder) are both expected to play through their questionable tags; they would be listed as “probable” if that designation still existed. They’ll both have plus matchups against the struggling Jets’ secondary. Landry is expected to be shadowed by Darrelle Revis, but the veteran hasn’t been playing well this season. Parker will see a lot of Buster Skrine, who’s earned a 50.6 grade from Pro Football Focus.

After being limited on Thursday, the two Chargers wide outs too part in practice today. Both are expected to play this week when the team takes on the Titans. Williams is a particularly attractive DFS option given his connection with Philip Rivers and red zone usage. Dontrelle Inman had been on many people’s radars this week if one or both of these players sat but loses value with this news.

Hunter Henry doesn't practice; highly unlikely to play this week
Henry hasn’t practiced this week and it does not appear he will play this week when the Chargers face the Titans. Antonio Gates becomes an intriguing pivot off of the likes of Kyle Rudolph as Philip Rivers loves to look his way, especially in the red zone, despite his slow plodding ways.

Most assumed that Ware would not play this week as he’s been in the league concussion protocol and has not been cleared yet and it has not been confirmed that he will miss the Chiefs game with the Jaguars. Charcandrick West will likely draw the start, and it’s one of those situations everyone in DFS loves – a cheap RB getting significant touches playing on a substantial favorite at home. There was a three-game stretch last season where West had this role and dominated. However, there have been concerns about his production of late, and given his projected high ownership, there is some merit to reducing your exposure to him in GPPs. For cash, he’s a lock-and-load play.

Dion Sims OUT for this weekend against Jets
Sims has not been cleared from the concussion protocol and will not play this weekend against the Jets. With Jordan Cameron also out, MarQueis Gray will get the bulk of the work at the TE position for the Dolphins. He’s not a viable DFS option.

The Colts TE practiced all week and while not 100% should be good to go against the Packers this week. He has some upside given the high total of the game but there are better TE options out there. This is a definite hit on the value of Jack Doyle.

The veteran Ravens WR took part in practice today, albeit in a limited fashion and the team is not ruling him out from playing on Sunday against the Steelers. It’s a good match up as the Steelers are soft against the pass and Smith would be worth a look if he does play. It’s a slight but fairly negligible hit to the value of Mike Wallace, who would be in play regardless.

The Titans TE is dealing with a groin injury and his status will not be determined until just before kick off on Sunday. Unfortunately it’s a late afternoon game so it’s a precarious spot to roster Walker on sites that don’t have late swap. If he can’t go, Jace Amaro would get the start against the Chargers most likely but he’s not a viable DFS option. This would open up more targets for the likes of Kendall Wright and Tajae Sharpe but you’ll probably want to look more to the Titans RB’s if you are targeting that offense.

The Bills don’t play until Monday Night so we won’t get further clarity on this situation until tomorrow’s injury report but it looks as if McCoy will play this week. That said he’s a pretty easy fade given his high price tag, injury concerns, and match up against a Seahawks defense that has a top 5 DVOA against the run.

It’s likely that McKinnon will take the field for the Vikings this week when they face the Lions. It’s a good but not great match up against a defense that allows over 100 yards a game on the ground but is more vulnerable to the pass. Add in Matt Asiata vulturing third down and red zone work and he’s generally a fade for DFS purposes. Asiata’s value takes a big hit as well.

This doesn’t come as a surprise as the talk out of Cleveland all week would be that Kessler would get the start if he was healthy. Josh McCown returns to the bench and the Browns passing attack gets a slight downgrade going against the Cowboys. There is still some merit to Terrelle Pryor, Corey Coleman, and Gary Barnidge in GPP’s due to a likely game script that will require the Browns to throw and a number of injuries in the Cowboys secondary.
