Miles Sanders

Dallas Cowboys
12/29/21, 5:44 PM ET

PHI RB Miles Sanders and RB Jordan Howard DNP Wednesday

Miles Sanders and Jordan Howard both logged DNPs Wednesday ahead of the Eagles matchup with the Washington Football Team. Sanders is not expected to play this week but Howard is expected to lead the backfield. If Howard were unable to suit up this weekend, Boston Scott and Kenneth Gainwell would likely split the work. Scott would most likely handle much of the early down work with Gainwell handling most of the passing downs. Both Scott and Gainwell could be considered value options based on expected volume in a good matchup.

Jamison Crowder

Washington Commanders
12/29/21, 5:31 PM ET

NYJ WR Jamison Crowder (calf) DNP Wednesday

Jamison Crowder (calf) logged a DNP Wednesday ahead of the Jets matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Losing Crowder would be a big hit to the New York offense that is already struggling as is. Braxton Berrios and Keelan Cole would become the top receivers and could be considered as value options this weekend. It will be important to monitor Crowder’s practice status as the week progresses.

James Conner

Arizona Cardinals
12/29/21, 5:26 PM ET

ARI RB James Conner, WR Rondale Moore, and TE Demetrius Harris DNP Wednesday

James Conner, Rondale Moore, and Demetrius Harris all logged DNP Wednesday ahead of the Cardinals matchup against the Dallas Cowboys this weekend. HC Kliff Kingsbury said that he believes Conner and Moore will be game-time decisions and they remain day to day at this point. If Conner were to miss Chase Edmonds would be the lead back for the Cardinals with Eno Benjamin and Jonathan Ward available to back him up. If Moore were to miss, Christian Kirk, A.J. Green, and Antione Wesley could all play bigger roles in the Arizona passing game.

Tre'Quan Smith

Detroit Lions
12/29/21, 5:07 PM ET

NOS WR Tre'Quan Smith (chest) DNP Wednesday

Tre’Quan Smith (chest) logged a DNP Wednesday ahead of the Saints matchup against the Carolina Panthers. If smith were to be unable to suit up this week, Marquez Callaway, Ty Montgomery, and Kenny Stills could be asked to play a larger role in the New Orleans passing game. The Saints receivers remain difficult to trust in DFS contests however, even with an increase in expected volume.

Jack Doyle

Indianapolis Colts
12/29/21, 4:59 PM ET

IND TE Jack Doyle (knee/ankle) DNP Wednesday

Jack Doyle (knee/ankle) logged a DNP Wednesday ahead of the Colts matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders. Doyle is expected to split snaps with Mo Alie-Cox this weekend but if he were unable to suit up Alie-Cox would handle the bulk of the snaps with Kylen Granson available to back him up. Alie-Cox would be a good value option but with the uncertainty at quarterback for the Colts right now it might be best to see how this situation plays out before locking him in your lineups.

Darren Waller

Miami Dolphins
12/29/21, 7:06 PM ET

LVR TE Darren Waller placed on COVID list

Darren Waller has been placed on the COVID list ahead of the Raiders matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. Waller was expected to start practicing today in preparation of returning this weekend but a positive test has stopped any possibility of that. With Waller out, Foster Moreau will be the primary tight end for the Raiders and can be considered at his price point. The big winner is Hunter Renfrow, he will once again be the unquestioned top receiving target for Derek Carr and has the potential to break a slate.

Jaydon Mickens

Indianapolis Colts
12/29/21, 7:07 PM ET

JAC WR Jaydon Mickens placed on COVID list

Jaydon Mickens has been placed on the COVID list ahead of the Jaguars matchup against the New England Patriots. Mickens was expected to serve as receiver depth and his absence is not likely to be DFS relevant.

Hayden Hurst

Los Angeles Chargers
12/29/21, 4:38 PM ET

ATL TE Hayden Hurst placed on COVID list

Hayden Hurst has been placed on COVID list ahead of the Falcons matchup against the Buffalo Bills this Sunday. With Hurst out, Lee Smith will serve as the backup tight end to Kyle Pitts. Smith is not expected to see enough action to be considered in DFS contests, Pitts could see a few more targets along with Russell Gage strengthening the value of the Falcons top pass-catchers.

Jalen Guyton

Las Vegas Raiders
12/29/21, 3:00 PM ET

LAC WR Jalen Guyton activated from COVID list

Jalen Guyton has been activated from the COVID list ahead of the Chargers matchup with the Denver Broncos this Sunday. Guyton should slot back in as either the third or fourth receiver for the Chargers depending on Mike Williams’s availability. If Williams is unable to play this weekend, Guyton could be considered as a value option with touchdown upside in a high-powered offense looking to bounce back.

Sam Darnold

Seattle Seahawks
12/29/21, 2:45 PM ET

CAR QB Sam Darnold will start Sunday

Sam Darnold will start Sunday for the Panthers when they are set to take on the New Orleans Saints. It took just over a week for Darnold to win back the starting job over Cam Newton, though it seems like Newton will still have a role in the offense. HC Matt Rhule said that Darnold will start but Newton will be ready to play. This suggests that Newton could be called upon in goal line scenarios where his rushing ability would be a factor. It remains difficult to play either Carolina QB in DFS contests with the other always looming with the potential to take away crucial touchdowns.

Travis Kelce

Kansas City Chiefs
12/29/21, 2:37 PM ET

KCC TE Travis Kelce and K Harrison Butker activated from COVID list; RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire DNP Wednesday

Travis Kelce and Harrison Butker have been activated from the COVID list, while Clyde Edwards-Helaire DNP Wednesday ahead of the Chiefs matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals this Sunday. Kelce should return to his usual role as one of the primary pass-catchers in the Kansas City offense and with a full week of practice should have his conditioning up to a level where he shouldn’t be forced to play a limited number of snaps. Butker should return and handle the kicking duties this weekend. CEH seems to be trending in the wrong direction to suit up this weekend as he is dealing with a collarbone injury. If he were to miss, Darrel Williams and Derrick Gore would likely split the backfield work with Williams being the more appealing DFS option due to his pass-catching ability.

Tim Patrick

Jacksonville Jaguars
12/29/21, 1:58 PM ET

DEN WR Tim Patrick placed on COVID list

Tim Patrick has been placed on the COVID list ahead of the Broncos matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers. HC Vic Fangio stated that he believed no players placed on the list today would be eligible to play on Sunday, effectively ruling out Patrick for this weekend’s game. With Patrick out, the receiving corps will be led by Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton with both Kendall Hinton and Diontae Spencer expected to play a larger role in the offense. Right now, it is tough to trust many pass-catchers on the Broncos as it seems Drew Lock will once again start this Sunday. The Broncos will likely pound the ball on the ground against one of the worst run defenses in football taking away opportunities from the Broncos wideouts. It is best to look elsewhere than Denver’s receiving corps this weekend in DFS contests.

Saquon Barkley

Philadelphia Eagles
12/29/21, 1:50 PM ET

NYG RB Saquon Barkley, WR Kadarius Toney, WR Collin Johnson, TE Kyle Rudolph DNP Wednesday

Saquon Barkley, Kadarius Toney, Collin Johnson, Kyle Rudolph all logged DNPs Wednesday ahead of the Giants matchup against the Chicago Bears. This practice was just a walkthrough so a majority of these players could have been taking an extra maintenance day for their injuries, tomorrow’s practice report should give us more information regarding who is really banged up. If Barkley were to be unable to suit up this week Devonta Booker would be a tremendous value option this weekend, as he would be expected to lead the backfield and has had success doing so in the past. If Toney were unable to play, Kenny Golladay and Darius Slayton would be the top options in the New York passing game. If Rudolph were unable to play, Evan Engram could be considered in DFS contests based on expected volume. It is tough to trust many members of the New York offense at this point due to the quarterback play of both Jake Fromm and Mike Glennon.

Brandin Cooks

Buffalo Bills
12/29/21, 1:41 PM ET

HOU WR Brandin Cooks and K Ka'imi Fairbairn activated from COVID list

Brandin Cooks and Ka’imi Fairbairn have been activated from the COVID list ahead of the Texans matchup with the San Francisco 49ers this Sunday. Cooks should instantly reclaim his role as the top receiver for the Texans and can be considered in most DFS formats based on expected volume in an improving Houston offense. Fairbairn should slot back in as Houston’s kicker and should take over kicking duties from Dominik Eberle.

Curtis Samuel

Buffalo Bills
12/29/21, 1:35 PM ET

WAS WR Curtis Samuel returned to practice Wednesday

Curtis Samuel returned to practice Wednesday ahead of Washington’s matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles this weekend. Samuel is still dealing with a hamstring injury that has plagued him the whole season. Samuel seemed close last week to playing, taking it all the way to a game-time decision. With an early practice this week seems to be trending in the right direction to play this weekend and should slot back in as the third or fourth wideout behind Terry McLaurin, DeAndre Carter, and Adam Humphries. Due to Samuel’s limitations, it is tough to reliably play him in DFS contests at this time.
