CLE RB Nick Chubb and RB Demetric Felton activated off COVID list, expected to play Sunday

Nick Chubb and Demetric Felton have been activated off the COVID list and are expected to play Sunday against the Detroit Lions. If both Chubb and Felton are able to progress as expected, Chubb would lead the backfield with D’Ernest Johnson and Felton available to back him up. Johnson will likely play a bigger role going forward as he has performed admirably both times he was asked to lead the backfield. Chubb will still be the Browns running back to roster as he figures to see a heavy workload in a game the Browns are expected to be leading on Sunday.

SEA WR DK Metcalf returned to practice Thursday; TE Gerald Everett and RB Alex Collins DNP

DK Metcalf has returned to practice on Thursday while Gerald Everett and Alex Collins logged DNPs ahead of their matchup this Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals. Metcalf was likely just taking an extra day to rest yesterday and should be slated to assume his full role on Sunday as the Seahawks top receiving option. Everett has missed two practices in a row now and if he were to miss, Will Dissly and Colby Parkinson would likely split the tight end snaps with Dissly seeing the majority of the targets. Alex Collins is a new addition to the injury report and if we were unable to go the backfield would likely be split between Rashaad Penny, Travis Homer, and DeeJay Dallas. It will be important to check back on this situation tomorrow when the official injury report is released, as some running back value could open up for the Seahawks albeit in a difficult matchup.

J.J. Taylor

Houston Texans
11/18/21, 7:33 PM ET

NEP J.J. Taylor and TE Devin Asiasi officially inactive Thursday

J.J. Taylor and Devin Asiasi are officially inactive for Thursday night’s game against the Atlanta Falcons. With Damien Harris and Jonnu Smith both available to play Taylor and Asiasi were not needed to provide depth for the Patriots. Their absences should not be considered DFS relevant as they would have only played a role if Smith and Harris were unavailable.

Cordarrelle Patterson

Pittsburgh Steelers
11/18/21, 7:30 PM ET

ATL RB Cordarrelle Patterson and WR Christian Blake officially inactive Thursday

As expected, Cordarrelle Patterson is officially inactive for Thursday’s game against the New England Patriots. With Patterson unable to play, Mike Davis and Wayne Gallman should split the bulk of the backfield work with Davis likely being the more active back, though both could be considered on the showdown slate. Christian Blake was also officially listed inactive Thursday meaning Frank Darby and marvin Hall could see a few snaps at the end of the Falcons receiver depth chart. Neither is expected to be DFS relevant as Russell Gage, Olamide Zaccheaus, Kyle Pitts, and Tajae Sharpe remain Matt Ryan’s top options in the passing game.

Elijah Mitchell

New England Patriots
11/18/21, 7:25 PM ET

SFO RB Elijah Mitchell and RB JaMycal Hasty DNP Thursday

Elijah Mitchell is not practicing again Thursday but is expected to play Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. If Mitchell is forced to miss time, Jeff Wilson would be the next man up and would see the bulk of the carries with Deebo Samuel also mixing in. As of now, it seems pretty likely that Mitchell will be able to tough it out and play this weekend but it will be important to monitor his official listing on the injury report tomorrow. JaMycal Hasty will not practice and seems like a long shot to play this weekend. If he were able to suit up he would also be in the running back mix and would be expected to handle most of the passing down work.

Jalen Richard

Las Vegas Raiders
11/18/21, 6:13 PM ET

LVR RB Jalen Richard returned to practice Thursday

Jalen Richard has returned to practice Thursday ahead of the Raiders’ game against the Cincinnati Bengals this Sunday. Richard is expected to be the third running back for Las Vegas behind Josh Jacobs and Kenyan Drake. Richard’s likely availability will mean that Peyton Barber will once again probably be a healthy scratch.

Allen Robinson

Detroit Lions
11/18/21, 5:35 PM ET

CHI WR Allen Robinson DNP Thursday

Allen Robinson logged another DNP Thursday ahead of the Bears’ matchup with the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. If Robinson is unable to suit up Darnell Mooney will play an even bigger role in the passing game with Marquise Goodwin possibly filling in for Robinson opposite Mooney. Robinson has appeared on the practice report multiple times this year but has always been able to suit up so far so this could be the case again. It will be important to monitor Robinson’s practice status tomorrow and his official listing on the injury report that will be released tomorrow.

Jeremy McNichols

Washington Commanders
11/18/21, 5:31 PM ET

TEN RB Jeremy McNichols and TE Geoff Swaim DNP Thursday

Jeremy McNichols and Geoff Swaim both logged DNPs Thursday ahead of the Titans’ matchup with the Houston Texans. McNichols is still in the concussion protocol and if he is unable to get cleared the Titans backfield would be led by D’Onta Foreman and Adrian Peterson. The backfield still seems to be settling in the wake of the Derrick Henry news but at this point it seems as though Foreman would be the back to roster as he has seen more snaps and has looked to be the best ball carrier for the Titans so far. It will be important to see how McNichols progresses through the protocol and if he is cleared in time to play this weekend in a juicy matchup against the woeful Texans defense. Geoff Swaim is also dealing with a concussion and if he were to miss MyCole Pruitt and Anthony Firkser would likely split tight end snaps on Sunday.

Alvin Kamara

New Orleans Saints
11/18/21, 5:27 PM ET

NOS RB Alvin Kamara, QB Taysom Hill, and WR Ty Montgomery DNP Thursday

Alvin Kamara, Taysom Hill, and Ty Montgomery all logged DNPs Thursday ahead of their matchup Sunday with the Philadelphia Eagles. In a surprising turn of events Alvin Kamara was downgraded from a limited participant Wednesday to a DNP Thursday. This not bode well for his chances to play on Sunday. If Kamara were to miss Mark Ingram would be thrust into the lead back role with Dwayne Washington and Alex Armah available to back him up. Ingram would be a tremendous value option based on expected volume. It will be important to monitor Kamara’s listing on the injury report tomorrow as his absence could change Sunday’s whole slate. Taysom Hill did not log a practice today meaning that most likely Trevor Siemian will make another start at quarterback. It is not looking good for Montgomery’s prospects of suiting up this weekend after missing the last two days of practice. If Montgomery were to be ruled out, the receiving corps should be led by Tre’Quan Smith, Marquez Callaway, and Deonte Harris.

Parker Hesse

Detroit Lions
11/18/21, 5:12 PM ET

ATL TE Parker Hesse and RB Qadree Ollison elevated from practice squad for Thursday

Parker Hesse and Qadree Ollison have been elevated from the practice squad for Thursday’s game against the New England Patriots. Hesse and Ollison are expected to serve as depth at their respective positions and do not figure to be DFS relevant even on a showdown slate. They should only be considered as dart throw punt play options.

Rob Gronkowski

Tampa Bay Buccaneers
11/18/21, 5:07 PM ET

TBB TE Robert Gronkowski returned to practice Thursday; WR Antonio Brown DNP

Robert Gronkowski has returned to practice Thursday while Antonio Brown logged a DNP ahead of Monday’s game against the New York Giants. Gronkowski logged a full practice setting himself up to reclaim his role as the top tight end for Tampa Bay and one of Tom Brady’s favorite targets. This will send both O.J. Howard and Cameron Brate back down the depth chart limiting their snaps. Antonio Brown looks to be trending towards missing another week which will mean Chris Godwin, Mike Evans, and Tyler Johnson will continue to lead the Buccaneers receiving corps.

Sterling Shepard

Tampa Bay Buccaneers
11/18/21, 5:02 PM ET

NYG WR Sterling Shepard and TE Kaden Smith DNP Thursday; RB Saquon Barkley and RB Devontae Booker logged limited practice

Sterling Shepard and Kaden Smith logged DNPs Thursday while both Saquon Barkley and Devontae Booker logged limited practices ahead of Monday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Sterling Shepard is still working his way back from injury and has a chance to play Monday but if he were to be unable to Kenny Golladay, Kadarius Toney, and Darius Slayton could all play bigger roles in the New York passing game. Kaden Smith is expected to serve as tight end depth behind Evan Engram and Kyle Rudolph so his status is not DFS relevant. Both Barkley and Booker look to be trending in the right direction to play Monday when Barkley would be expected to be the lead back with Booker backing him up.

Cole Beasley

New York Giants
11/18/21, 4:11 PM ET

BUF WR Cole Beasley returned to practice Thursday

Cole Beasley has returned to practice Thursday and should be able to play against the Indianapolis Colts this Sunday barring a setback. Beasley has been dealing with the same injury for about three weeks now and has been able to suit up for every game even after missing multiple practices. If Beasley were to suffer a setback, Emmanuel Sanders and Gabriel Davis could be in line to see increased targets and should see their value increase but it looks like Beasley is currently trending in the right direction.

Baker Mayfield

Tampa Bay Buccaneers
11/18/21, 4:03 PM ET

CLE QB Baker Mayfield and WR Jarvis Landry returned to practice Thursday; WR Donovan Peoples-Jones (groin) not seen practicing

As expected, Baker Mayfield and Jarvis Landry returned to practice Thursday while Donovan Peoples-Jones was not seen practicing ahead of their matchup with the Detroit Lions this weekend. Baker and Landry were both expected to be sitting out practice yesterday for maintenance reasons and their return today seems to confirm this. It was reported that Donovan Peoples-Jones hurt himself at practice yesterday and his status for this weekend is in question. If he were unable to play, Rashard Higgins and Anthony Schwartz would likely see more snaps and play a larger role in the Cleveland offense. It will be important to check DPJ’s status on the official injury report released tomorrow.

Aaron Rodgers

Pittsburgh Steelers
11/18/21, 3:49 PM ET

GBP QB Aaron Rodgers (toe), WR Allen Lazard (shoulder), and WR Malik Taylor (abdomen) DNP Thursday

GBP QB Aaron Rodgers, Allen Lazard, and Malik Taylor logged DNPs Thursday ahead of the Packers matchup with the Minnesota Vikings. Rodgers has been dealing with this toe injury for about a week now but it is unlikely to affect his status for Sunday. Lazard has been dealing with a shoulder issue and if he were to miss Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Randall Cobb could play a bigger role behind the dominating presence of Davante Adams. Cobb and MVS would both see an increase in value and could be considered as a part of Green Bay stacks. Malik Taylor is not expected to play much of a role on Sunday and his absence would not be DFS relevant.
