Lamar Jackson

Baltimore Ravens
11/18/21, 3:31 PM ET

BAL QB Lamar Jackson (illness), WR Marquise Brown (thigh), and WR Rashod Bateman DNP Thursday

Lamar Jackson, Marquise Brown, and Rashod Bateman all logged DNPs Thursday ahead of their matchup with the Chicago Bears on Sunday. Jackson has now missed two days in a row with an illness but the Ravens are still hopeful he will be good to go by Sunday. Tyler Huntley would likely draw the star if Jackson were unable to go. Not much has been made of Brown’s injury or Bateman’s absence so it is likely nothing too serious. If Brown and/or Bateman were unable to suit up on Sunday, Sammy Watkins and Devin Duvernay would be likely to see increased snaps and targets. It will be important to check on the reported sttus of Jackson, Brown, and Bateman tomorrow when the official injury report is released.

Curtis Samuel

Buffalo Bills
11/18/21, 3:07 PM ET

WAS WR Curtis Samuel and TE Ricky Seals-Jones DNP Thursday

Curtis Samuel and Ricky Seals-Jones both logged DNPs again Thursday ahead of Washington’s matchup with the Carolina Panthers. If Samuel is once again unable to suit up this weekend, the receiving corps will be led by Terry McLaurin, DeAndre Carter, and Adam Humphries. McLaurin would remain the top play here and would be expected to see a high volume of targets in a heavy passing attack for Washington, though it would still be a very tough matchup against the Carolina defense. There is still hope that Logan Thomas will be able to make his return from the IR on time to suit up this weekend. If Thomas is able to return Seals-Jones’s status won’t be too important but If Thomas were once again to be out Seals-Jones would be in line to continue to play a massive role in the offense and offer a value option at the position. If both were to be out, John Bates and preseason standout Sammis Reyes would likely split time at the position. It will be important to monitor the status of both Seals-Jones and Thomas as the week progresses.

ATL RB Cordarrelle Patterson has an "uphill battle" to play Thursday according to Ian Rapoport

Cordarrelle Patterson has an “uphill battle” to play Thursday against the New England Patriots according to Ian Rapoport. Originally it seemed as though Patterson was trending in the right direction to be able to play on Thursday having logged limited practices three straight day but now this does not seem to be the case. If Patterson is unable to play, Mike Davis and Wayne Gallman would split the backfield work with Davis likely being the more active back though both could be considered on the showdown slate. It seems that this decision will come right down to when inactives are released 90 minutes prior to kickoff so it will be important to check back then.

Jared Goff

Detroit Lions
11/18/21, 2:53 PM ET

DET QB Jared Goff and RB Jermar Jefferson not seen practicing Thursday

DET QB Jared Goff and RB Jermar Jefferson once again were not seen practicing Thursday ahead of the Lions matchup against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. Tim Boyle will see the starter reps at practice and this opens the door for him to draw the start this weekend. If Boyle gets the start the already poor Lions offense will take another hit and will likely be less efficient. At this point, the only players that are DFS relevant are D’Andre Swift and T.J. Hockenson who will both have their expected production lowered if Goff is unable to suit up. It will probably be best to avoid any and all Detroit Lions this week regardless of who plays quarterback as they draw a tough matchup against the Browns defense. The role Jefferson had enjoyed the past couple of weeks (D’Andre Swift’s backup) has been taken back by the returning Jamaal Williams so his status is not DFS relevant for this week.

Dallas Goedert

Philadelphia Eagles
11/18/21, 2:40 PM ET

PHI TE Dallas Goedert returns to practice Thursday

Dallas Goedert has returned to practice on Thursday ahead of the Eagles matchup with the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. If Goedert is fully cleared and good to go he should instantly slot back into the top tight end role for Philadelphia and is could be considered in DFS contests. If he were unable to suit up, Jack Stoll and Tyree Jackson would split the tight end snaps with Stoll more likely to see the majority of snaps. He would become a tremendous value option in an offense that relies heavily on its primary tight end. It will be important to monitor how Goedert progresses through the protocol this week and if he is able to be cleared in time for Sunday’s game.

Marcus Kemp

Washington Commanders
11/18/21, 2:35 PM ET

KCC WR Marcus Kemp placed on COVID list

Marcus Kemp has been placed on the COVID list ahead of the Chiefs game this Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys. Kemp was expected to serve as receiver depth and his absence should not be DFS relevant. It is worth noting however that we have seen multiple members of a position group go on the COVID list before so it will be important to keep an eye on the Kansas City receiving corps availability.

Kyler Murray

Arizona Cardinals
11/17/21, 7:40 PM ET

ARI QB Kyler Murray (ankle) returned to practice Wednesday; WR DeAndre Hopkins (hamstring) DNP

Kyler Murray has returned to practice on Wednesday while DeAndre Hopkins logged another DNP. Murray seems to be trending in the right direction to play this weekend against the Seattle Seahawks and has said he is “close” to being able to return. Murray’s return would give an instant boost to the offense as they looked flat this last weekend against the Carolina Panthers. DeAndre Hopkins remains sidelined but it would likely only take him one limited practice by Friday to be ready to return so it’s important to monitor his practice status the coming days. If Hopkins were to be ruled out once again, Christian Kirk, A.J. Green, and Rondale Moore would see most of the target share with Moore also working out of the backfield on certain occasions. All three would be much better plays based on expected volume and production and could be considered in most formats against a lackluster Seattle defense, provided Murray is the Cardinals’ quarterback Sunday.

D.K. Metcalf

Pittsburgh Steelers
11/17/21, 7:31 PM ET

SEA WR DK Metcalf (foot) and TE Gerald Everett (groin) DNP Wednesday

DK Metcalf and Gerald Everett both logged DNPs Wednesday ahead of the Seahawks’ divisional showdown with the Arizona Cardinals. As of now both injuries are not expected to be serious and Metcalf and Everett are taking an extra day to rest these injuries. However if Metcalf were to miss, Tyler Lockett would become one of the better plays on the slate based on expected volume and a game environment that could turn into a shootout. If Everett were to miss, Will Dissly and Colby Parkinson would likely split the tight end snaps with Dissly seeing the majority of the targets.

Marquise Brown

Kansas City Chiefs
11/17/21, 6:44 PM ET

BAL WR Marquise Brown (thigh) DNP Wednesday

Marquise Brown logged a DNP Wednesday ahead of the Ravens’ matchup with the Chicago Bears. Not much has been made of this injury so Brown is likely to be taking a maintenance day but it is important to monitor his practice status the rest of the week. If Brown were unable to suit up on Sunday, Rashod Bateman would be the Ravens top receiver with Sammy Watkins and Devin Duvernay also likely to see increased snaps and targets. Bateman would need to be considered in most formats based on increased volume and expected production.

Aaron Rodgers

Pittsburgh Steelers
11/17/21, 6:39 PM ET

GBP QB Aaron Rodgers (toe) and WR Allen Lazard (shoulder) DNP Wednesday

Aaron Rodgers and Allen Lazard both logged DNPs Wednesday ahead of their Sunday matchup with the Minnesota Vikings. Rodgers has been dealing with this toe injury for about a week now but it is unlikely to affect his status for Sunday. Lazard has been dealing with a shoulder issue and if he were to miss Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Randall Cobb could play a bigger role behind the dominating presence of Davante Adams. Cobb and MVS would both see an increase in value and could be considered as a part of Green Bay stacks.

As reported by: Rob Demovsky Other tagged players: Allen Lazard

Allen Robinson

Detroit Lions
11/17/21, 6:33 PM ET

CHI WR Allen Robinson (hamstring) DNP Wednesday

Allen Robinson logged a DNP Wednesday due to a hamstring injury ahead of the Bears’ matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. If Robinson is unable to suit up Darnell Mooney will play an even bigger role in the passing game with Marquise Goodwin possibly filling in for Robinson opposite Mooney. Robinson has appeared on the practice report multiple times this year but has always been able to suit up so far so this could be the case again. It will be important to monitor Robinson’s practice status throughout the week, though he could suit up on Sunday having only logged a limited practice on Friday as he has done in the past.

Jeremy McNichols

Washington Commanders
11/17/21, 6:27 PM ET

TEN RB Jeremy McNichols (concussion) DNP Wednesday

Jeremy McNichols logged a DNP Wednesday ahead of the Titans matchup against the Houston Texans. McNichols is still in the concussion protocol and if he is unable to get cleared the Titans backfield would be led by D’Onta Foreman and Adrian Peterson. The backfield still seems to be settling in the wake of the Derrick Henry news but at this point it seems as though Foreman would be the back to roster as he has seen more snaps and has looked to be the best ball carrier for the Titans so far. It will be important to see how McNichols progresses through the protocol and if he is cleared in time to play this weekend in a juicy matchup against the woeful Texans defense.

Pharaoh Brown

Arizona Cardinals
11/17/21, 6:21 PM ET

HOU TE Pharaoh Brown returned to practice Wednesday

Pharaoh Brown returned to practice Wednesday ahead of the Texans game against the Tennessee Titans. Brown should return to his role splitting the tight end snaps with Jordan Akins though neither will likely be DFS relevant. It remains best to avoid all Texans (outside of Brandin Cooks) especially in a tough matchup against the surging Tennessee Titans.

Damien Harris

Buffalo Bills
11/17/21, 6:12 PM ET

NEP RB Damien Harris and WR Gunner Olszewski not listed on injury report for Thursday; RB Brandon Bolden, WR N'Keal Harry, TE Jonnu Smith, K Nick Folk all listed questionable

Damien Harris and Gunner Olszewski have not been listed on injury report for Thursday meaning they have cleared concussion protocol, while Brandon Bolden, N’Keal Harry, Jonnu Smith, and Nick Folk have all been listed questionable. Harris should return to his role seeing the bulk of the work in the Patriots backfield with Rhamondre Stevenson and Bolden (questionable) also mixing in. Olszewski should return to his role on special teams and does not figure to be DFS relevant. If Jonnu Smith were unable to suit up Hunter Henry would once again be in line to play almost all of the tight end snaps and play an important role in the Patriots passing attack, he would need to be considered on the showdown slate. Nick Folk has been listed questionable ahead of multiple games this season but has always been able to play so this is the expected outcome for Thursday. If a kicker is elevated from the practice squad tomorrow though that would be cause for concern.

Chase Claypool

Buffalo Bills
11/17/21, 6:03 PM ET

PIT WR Chase Claypool (toe) returns to practice Wednesday

Chase Claypool returned to practice Wednesday and seems to be trending in the right direction to play this week against the Los Angeles Chargers. If available, Claypool should return to hir role as the number two receiver opposite Diontae Johnson and could be in line for a lot of work this weekend in a game that should be competitive. If Claypool were unable to suit up, Diontae Johnson would lead the Steelers receiving corps with James Washington and Ray-Ray McCloud also expected to see more snaps and could be considered as value options. Johnson would need to be considered in most formats due to his expected volume and matchup.
