Kenny Stills

New Orleans Saints
9/26/21, 12:04 PM ET

NO WR Lil'Jordan Humphrey inactive Sunday; WR Kenny Stills active

Humphrey will be a healthy scratch, as the Saints look to give Stills a chance on their roster. It’s arguably the worst matchup on the slate, as the Saints play the Patriots with one of the lowest team totals on the slate.

DeAndre Hopkins

Baltimore Ravens
9/26/21, 12:00 PM ET

ARI WR DeAndre Hopkins officially active Sunday

Hopkins is officially active as expected despite a rib injury. Hopkins rarely misses time, and should be all systems go in a juicy matchup against the porous Jaguars defense.

D'Andre Swift

Chicago Bears
9/26/21, 11:59 AM ET

DET RB D'Andre Swift officially active Sunday

As expected, Swift will play through his questionable tag as he did last week despite a groin injury. He’ll be a good play against a hampered Ravens defense, although he’ll continue to split time with Jamaal Williams.

Rhamondre Stevenson

New England Patriots
9/26/21, 11:57 AM ET

NE RB Rhamondre Stevenson inactive Sunday

Stevenson will be a healthy scratch for the second straight week for the Patriots. It’ll be Damien Harris on early downs, James White on receiving routs, and J.J. Taylor as the sparingly used third RB.

Tee Higgins

Cincinnati Bengals
9/26/21, 11:55 AM ET

CIN WR Tee Higgins officially inactive Sunday

As expected, Higgins was downgraded from doubtful to out against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and will miss the game with a shoulder injury. This should lead to more targets for Tyler Boyd and Ja’Marr Chase, while Auden Tate and Mike Thomas will split the WR3 reps likely.

Matt Breida

San Francisco 49ers
9/26/21, 11:52 AM ET

BUF RB Matt Breida inactive Sunday

After Zack Moss sat to cede snaps to Matt Breida in week 1, he was able to return last week and played well for the Bills. As a result, it’ll be a two man show for the Bills RBs, as Devin Singletary and Moss will be active, while Breida was listed as a healthy scratch this week. Singletary should be the lead RB, but both will split the reps in a pas happy offense.

Carson Wentz

Minnesota Vikings
9/26/21, 11:47 AM ET

IND QB Carson Wentz officially active Sunday; RB Marlon Mack inactive

As expected, Wentz was officially ruled in and will start for the Colts against the Titans. Wentz’s ankles apparently are okay, but he’ll be nearly impossible to trust due to his hampered mobility and reduced practice time. The bigger news was that Mack was a healthy scratch, a pretty big surprise seeing as he was worked in last week. This should mean potentially more work for Jonathan Taylor, with Nyheim Hines playing the pass down role. Jordan Wilkins is active and may siphon some work, but it’s certainly expected to be the Taylor show for the Colts.

Kenny Golladay

New York Giants
9/26/21, 10:52 AM ET

NYG WR Kenny Golladay (hip) expected to play, may see reduced snaps Sunday

A reporter from the Giants beat followed up speculation that Golladay would play, so it’s looking more like Golladay will get the start and be able to play for the Giants. The report also says that according to the WR coach, Golladay may see reduced snaps due to his injury, and may not be operating at full speed. We’re expecting to see Golladay officially active soon, but this does cause a worry for the team, and should help Sterling Shepherd continue to be the target funnel for the team.

Evan Engram

Denver Broncos
9/26/21, 9:33 AM ET

NYG TE Evan Engram (calf) expected to play Sunday; WR Kenny Golladay (hip) game-time decision

Engram was expected to make his return this week, and it’s looking likely that he’ll do just that as Rapaport reported that he’ll end up playing. Golladay appears to be closer to a game-time decision, as he’s been battling a hip injury all week. The Giants have a juicy matchup against the Falcons, so it’ll be key to see what ends up happening. Sterling Shepherd is still the top option for the team, particularly on PPR sites, but Golladay could be a good play in a great matchup. If he sits, expect more targets for Darius Slayton and possibly Engram himself.

DeAndre Hopkins

Baltimore Ravens
9/26/21, 9:29 AM ET

ARI WR DeAndre Hopkins (rib) expected to play Sunday

According to Schefter, one source told him that regarding Hopkins, the Cardinals are “pretty confident he will play, but not 100 (percent he will)”. Hopkins status hasn’t really been in question all week; he’s missed practice plenty of times before playing during the week. Hopkins has a great matchup against the Jaguars, and has played through injury before, so he may come in as a sneaky play if he comes in lower owned.

Darrell Henderson

Los Angeles Rams
9/26/21, 9:27 AM ET

LAR RB Darrell Henderson (rib) not expected to play Sunday

All week it’s been looking like Henderson would end up sitting, and Schefter appeared to confirm that early this morning. Henderson is listed as questionable with a rib injury, but it’s looking like he’ll sit, and with the Rams elevating Buddy Howell yesterday from the practice squad, it’s likely Henderson sits. This would lead to Sony Michel leading the way for the team, along with Jake Funk and the aforementioned Howell. They would be very difficult to prioritize, as the Rams are expected to have a very pass heavy attack; this is what the DFS community thinks, but also what reporters are saying as well. Michel will likely need touchdowns to meet value against a stout Bucs front, so he may not be worth playing despite his cheap price.

Dalvin Cook

Dallas Cowboys
9/26/21, 9:23 AM ET

MIN RB Dalvin Cook (ankle) considered "unlikely" to play Sunday

The biggest news of the slate will unfortunately not be decided until the 4:30 ET inactives come out, as reports from both Schefter and Rapaport give hesitance to Cook playing against the Seahawks Sunday. Cook’s sprained ankle caused him to miss practice all week, which is often a worrisome sign. Both reports are saying that even if Cook suits up to play, he’ll be extremely limited, so he’ll be very difficult to trust on his own. If he sits, the Vikings only have two active RBs, Alexander Mattison (who would get the lion’s share of the work and would be the best play on the slate if Cook sat completely), and Ameer Abdullah, who was elevated from the practice squad (like he was the last two weeks before game day). Based off all the reporting, Cook’s status will likely come down to 90 minutes before his game start, so keeping optionality open is the best way to take advantage of the situation.

Carson Wentz

Minnesota Vikings
9/25/21, 9:38 PM ET

Carson Wentz (ankles) to start Sunday, pending setbacks in warmup

Rapaport was able to let us know early enough that Wentz will likely start tomorrow despite two sprained ankles against the Tennessee Titans. Wentz’s mobility may be hampered, but it looks like he’ll be cleared as long as there’s no issues in the warmups. He’s very difficult to consider rostering at a deep quarterback position, as are his pass catchers despite the Titans shaky defense.

As reported by: Ian Rapaport via Twitter

Buddy Howell

Los Angeles Rams
9/25/21, 3:19 PM ET

LAR RB Buddy Howell elevated from practice squad

Howell was elevated from the practice squad, a worrisome sign for the prospects of Darrell Henderson. Howell may not be likely to have a role tomorrow, but the Rams do like to keep three RBs on the roster, so this likely means Henderson ends up sitting. The Bucs have an elite rush defense, so even though Sony Michel will likely be the primary back, it’s tough to trust him despite the snap share he may receive. Jake Funk will mix in as a backup as well, but the Rams pass game is likely to be far more fruitful from a fantasy perspective.

Brett Hundley

Baltimore Ravens
9/25/21, 3:14 PM ET

IND QB Brett Hundley promoted from practice squad to active roster

With the status of Carson Wentz up in the air, Hundley was promoted from the practice squad while Wentz remains questionable due to an injury to both of his ankles. Typically, practice squad elevations mean that a player at that position (in this case Wentz) may end up being ruled out. It’s unclear if that’s the case here, as Hundley may end up being the backup QB over Jacob Eason, or possibly the starter. Wentz will be difficult to trust if he does play, while the backup QBs are also tough to trust despite cheap prices.
