Calvin Ridley

Cheap WR With Extreme Upside

Calvin Ridley is already one of the highest upside value WRs on the slate, couple that with the fact that Julio Jones may have a date with top corner Jalen Ramsey and Ridley becomes one of the top plays on the slate. Ownership is one to monitor here as once news breaks if/when Ramsey is active people may jump all over Ridley, but setting that aside in hopes that he does not become chalk because if so, Ridley is an amazing upside play at a low price. Ridley has played about 70% of snaps this season, despite only seeing 15% of the team’s targets, Ridley is top 15 in air yards in the NFL and has 4 TDs. The lack of consistent targets in addition to the high air yards total is what makes Ridley a high variance play, which is why I would like to see his ownership stay down for this week. Ridley figures to be in a shootout here as the Rams travel to Atlanta in a game where both teams are being given 25+ implied points by Vegas in a 53+ total. The shootout game script coupled with the Rams pass defense being ranked 24th in terms of DVOA means good things for Atlanta pass catchers — if Julio is tangled up with Ramsey all day, expect a big game from Ridley.

Tyler Boyd

Tennessee Titans

WR With Value Thanks To Pricing Error

Tyler Boyd’s pricing, especially on FD, is one of the laughing stocks of the year so far. Despite being targeted 7 times last week, Boyd put up a dud and that caused the sites to drop his price dramatically. On DK, the price for Boyd is somewhat reasonable, but still cheap – however, on FD, its is laughable, Boyd is now $5.6K and $300 cheaper than teammate Auden Tate, yet his ownership projections do not reflect these mispricings. Boyd has been targeted 7+ times in all but one game, and is playing on a team that throws the ball at the highest rate in the league (mostly due to the fact that they are always trailing). This sheer opportunity is enough to love Boyd at his price, but not to mention that he will avoid AJ Bouye as the majority of his snaps are in the slot; the Jags pass defense is 18th in DVOA and 20th in terms of most FPTs allowed to WRs per game.

Derrick Henry

Baltimore Ravens

Price Drop For This RB Could Lead To Value

Henry is one of the many guys we saw get a price drop after down performances, and for GPP purposes those are things we look to capitalize on. Henry has a great matchup this week, as the Chargers are allowing the 8th-most FPTs per game to RBs and are currently ranked 26th in DVOA against the run. Despite his lack of involvement in the passing game, Henry is carrying the ball for 70% of the team’s rushes, and is playing nearly 60% of the snaps. This is not a game where I expect the Titans to win, but they should be looking to lean heavily on Henry with a new QB under center. At his price point, Henry definitely has the opportunity to pay off.

Dalvin Cook

Dallas Cowboys
10/18/19, 1:55 PM ET

Elite RB With High Volume

Dalvin Cook makes his way towards the top of my list with CMC off the main slate once again. He has a little more competition than last week, but that means his ownership could be lower as well. With guys like Barkley and Fournette getting high ownership projections so far this week, the idea of a low-ish owned Dalvin Cook is exciting. Cook’s usage has been undeniable, and oddly enough, has room for improvement. So far this season, Cook has played nearly 70% of snaps, accounted for over 30% of the team’s touches (16% of targets and 58% of the teams carries), and has ceded work to the likes of Alexander Mattison, thanks to blowouts, and Stefon Diggs/Adam Thielen thanks to the increased passing game usage. While I do think the Vikings will continue this pace of pacing more near the league average, as their offense has looked much better doing so, this will A) only improve Cook’s opportunity to run in less stacked boxes leading to increased efficiency and TD opportunity, and B) mean he gets more work in the passing game. In what I expect to be a close divisional game, Cook should find himself back at the forefront of this offense against a Lions team that is currently middle of the pack against the run (14th DVOA), but have allowed the 3rd-most fantasy points to RBs per game so far this season.
