Le'Veon Bell's MRI Reveals No Major Damage
Le’Veon Bell’s MRI revealed no major damage. This should clear the way for Bell to play Week 2. Expect a heavy work load with Sam Darnold out.

Cole Beasley didn’t practice Thursday with an unknown illness. It isn’t too concerning yet, but monitor his status this week.

Breida was very inefficient in a prime week 1 matchup, but Breida is once again worth a spot in our GPP lineups. With Tevin Coleman sidelined due to injury, Breida appears to be the leader in the 49ers backfield. He saw 44% of the snaps (Coleman played 27% before leaving due to injury), and that resulted in him receiving 27% of the teams touches in their week 1 win against the Bucs. Expect positive regression to come this week as we shouldn’t see two defensive TDs from any team very often. Breida only saw 1 target last week, but with Coleman out of the picture, that number could very well be on the rise. Look for Breida to improve on all of his usage numbers this week, including the 46.88% rushing market share, and more importantly, look for him to improve on the disappointing 3.7 fantasy points in week 1.
Elite WR Poised For Elite Volume in Week 2
With 26% of the Chargers’ week 1 target share potentially vacated with absences from Hunter Henry and Mike Williams, Keenan Allen appears to be poised for a huge role in week 2 against the Lions defense. Keenan Allen looked amazing in week 1, catching 8 of his 10 targets for 123 yards and a TD. Even more impressively, he saw 50% of the teams air yards, which is not often Allen’s forte, but that number suggests massive upside for Allen. While the Lions should have an improved defense, they do have issues in the secondary, as they allowed Arizona Cardinals WRs go for 21/283/1 in week 1.
Derrius Guice (Torn Meniscus) Has Surgery, Out Indefinitely
Guice had surgery Thursday for his torn meniscus and is out indefinitely. Adrian Peterson will be the main back for the Redskins, the same role he rushed for over 1,000 yards in last season. Chris Thompson will remain the pass-catching RB, with the possibility of picking up a few more carries now.

Cody Latimer was working on the side during practice with trainers Thursday, an unexpected move given that he doesn’t have a known injury. Hopefully more information will be available soon, and it’s too soon to consider Latimer questionable, but losing him would be the next in a series of blows to the Giants WR corp. The remaining healthy WR’s are Bennie Fowler, Russell Shepard, Cody Core and newly signed TJ Jones.

Sterling Shepard has not made any progress towards playing Week 2, remaining in the concussion protocol. He does still have a few days, but he is looking doubtful.
As reported by: Paul DottinoDontrell Hilliard (Concussion) Not Practicing
Dontrell Hilliard did not practice Thursday with a concussion. He does have an extra day with the Browns playing Monday night, but he doesn’t appear on pace to play. His role in the offense is mainly limited to returns, but he did vulture a touchdown last week on his only carry.
Hilliard’s absence would be a slight bump for Nick Chubb and D’Ernest Johnson, the two remaining RB’s on the Browns roster. The Browns are taking on the Jets Monday night, a team dealing with several major injuries. Sam Darnold is already ruled out while Le’Veon Bell had an MRI on his should Thursday. The Browns could pull ahead early and lean on the running game, helping Chubb and Johnson even more.

Josh Doctson was placed on the IR Thursday with the possibility of returning later this season. He had been limited in practice, so he must have aggravated the injury further. The Vikings will continue to run out Adam Thielen, Stefon Diggs and Chad Beebe as their top-3 WR’s. Given their run-heavy offense, there is little value beyond those 3 at WR.

I do like Henry in this home matchup against the Colts, who gave up over 200 total yards to the Chargers running backs last week. Henry seems to finally be getting the snaps and touches to be a big time fantasy player. This guy has shown that all he needs is the opportunity to have big games, and I do see the Titans playing with a lead early and feeding their main back all game.
Offense Focused Around The RB
Dalvin Cook took a big price jump, but he is still worth the spend up. He is super talented and with this new running scheme, he looked awesome, going for 111 yards on 21 attempts and 2 touchdowns on the ground. Everyone was taking him for the great pass-catching matchup against the Falcons last week, but he only had 2 receptions on 2 targets for 9 yards. This Vikings offense only had 10 pass attempts all game, so it is clear they really want to establish the run with Cook. I see him being the focal point of their offense, so give me all of the Cook shares this week at much lower ownership.
Elite Spot For This WR
Sammy Watkins is Mahomes’ number one option on the outside with Tyreke Hill. He showed off his big play ability with 3 touchdowns, 198 yards, and 9 receptions in Week 1, and that was all done against two of the better corners in the league: Jalen Ramsey and A.J. Bouye. Watkins gets a much better matchup against Oakland, who just took a hit to their defense after losing their starting safety. Mahomes should be able to have his way again this week, and Watkins should be one of the main beneficiaries.
Demaryius Thomas (Hamstring) Not Practicing, Could Play Monday Without Practice
Demaryius Thomas is not practicing Wednesday. Coach Gase said he is hopeful Thomas can practice Saturday, but that Thomas could also play Monday without any practice. This means Thomas should be at worst be a game-time decision for Week 2.
As reported by: Brian CostelloLe'Veon Bell (Shoulder) Does Not Practice, Getting MRI Today
Bell is getting an MRI today on his shoulder and did not practice. Requiring an MRI indicates this is not simply minor shoulder soreness. However, if the MRI is clean, expect Bell to play and get significant touches. The Jets lost QB Sam Darnold for at least Week 2, likely several more, with mono. It is hard to imagine any Jets player producing if both Bell and Darnold are out against the Browns Monday night.
