Steelers WR James Washington a healthy inactive Sunday
Washington is a healthy scratch for the first time this season and won’t play in Sunday night’s matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers, which will allow Justin Hunter to work as the Steelers fifth wide receiver. Washington has averaged just under two targets per game, so his absence won’t have much of an effect on the remaining members of the receiving corps. Additionally, this means that Pittsburgh will continue to utilize Antonio Brown, Juju Smith-Schuster, and Ryan Switzer in a majority of three-wide receiver sets.
As reported by: Jeremy Fowler via TwitterTyrell Williams (quad) active Sunday
Williams is officially active for Sunday night’s matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers despite dealing with a quad injury that kept him limited in practice all this week. Williams came into the last week’s contest as a game-time decision with the same injury, but he was limited to just nine snaps. He could be worth a look as dart throw in the showdown slates, though Mike Williams or Travis Benjamin appear to be the better tertiary Chargers receivers to target until Williams proves that he is no longer hampered by this lingering quad issue.
As reported by: Dale Lolley via TwitterStefon Diggs (knee) active Sunday
Diggs is officially active for Sunday’s matchup against the New England Patriots despite dealing with a knee injury that reportedly swelled up overnight, which briefly put his status for the Vikings Week 13 matchup in some doubt. Given the likely tough matchup with Stephon Gilmore and the uncertainty surrounding Diggs’ injury, he appears to be an easy player to avoid in all daily fantasy formats. While Bill Belichick’s defensive gameplans can be unpredictable at times, it’s likely that the mere presence of Diggs on the field should free up Adam Thielen in the slot and allow him to draw the more exploitable cornerback matchup against Jason McCourty.
As reported by: Chris Tomasson via TwitterMartavis Bryant (knee) officially inactive Sunday
Bryant is officially inactive and won’t play in Sunday’s matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs due to a knee injury that’s now forced him to miss three consecutive games. In his and Jordy Nelson’s absences, Marcell Ateman has emerged as David Carr’s go-to target, as 24.5% of his attempts have gone Ateman’s way. The Raiders are projected to be in a massively negative game script, so Ateman could be in line for a few additional targets at a bargain basement price tag across the industry, particularly on FanDuel where he’s close to the dead minimum salary.
As reported by: Michael Gehlken via TwitterRobby Anderson (ankle) active Sunday; Sam Darnold (foot) inactive
Anderson has officially been cleared and will be active for Sunday’s matchup against the Tennessee Titans despite being limited in practice all week by an ankle injury, while Sam Darnold is inactive, as expected, and will clear the way for Josh McCown to start at quarterback. The availability of Anderson keeps the Jets receiving corps relatively muddied with Quincy Enunwa and Jermaine Kearse also competing for targets, so none of the aforementioned receivers shape up as a strong options in daily fantasy formats with the Jets projected total sitting at just 15 implied points.
As reported by: the New York Jets via Twitter Other tagged players: Sam DarnoldJosh McCown will start today for the Jets
As expected Josh McCown will start today for the Jets. Sam Darnold will wait another week to return to the field. McCown and The Jets have a tough matchup vs The Bills today and with an implied team total under 16 points, it’s very easy to steer clear of this offense.
As reported by: Rich Cimini TwitterDeVante Parker (shoulder) active, WR Danny Amendola (knee) is INACTIVE today vs The Bills
The once forgotten DeVante Parker could be in line for an increased workload due to the news of fellow teammate Danny Amendola not playing today. While the matchup is not great for the Dolphins Parker is one of the few players on this offense capable of making big plays. Parker is likely to be shadowed by Tre’Davious White, thus making him even more of a deep GPP play for the week.
As reported by: Andy Simancas Twitter Other tagged players: Danny AmendolaVikings' WR Stefon Diggs remains questionable
Vikings’ WR Stefon Diggs knee swelled up overnight and his status is back to questionable for today’s game vs The Patriots. Diggs will test out his knee prior to the game on Sunday.
As reported by: Adam Schefter TwitterMarlon Mack (concussion-questionable) is active today
One week after suffering a concussion that left many of his DFS supports disappointed with a sub-par performance, Marlon Mack will start and resume his three-down role this week vs The Jags. Mack could go overlooked in a week with a ton of value plays at RB and remains a sneaky GPP option vs a defense that has struggled often during the season.
As reported by: Adam Caplan TwitterKeke Coutee (hamstring-questionable) is inactive today vs the Browns
According to Adam Caplan, WR Keke Coutee will not play today vs the Browns. Coutee’s opportunity isn’t as plentiful with Demaryius Thomas now in town anyway.
As reported by: Adam Caplan TwitterJoe Flacco officially inactive today
As expected Joe Flaco is inactive today. Lamar Jackson will once again take the reins of The Ravens offense in a plus matchup vs The Falcons. Jackson has averaged 20 DK points in the past two weeks while filling in for Flaco. Priced up due to recent performance Jackson has less appeal in comparison to other quarterbacks this week.
As reported by: Adam Schefter Twitter Other tagged players: Lamar JacksonJalen Ramsey will play today
Despite what apparent pain in his knee Jalen Ramsey will suit up and play vs The Colts this week. The addition of Ramsey to this disappointing Jags defense should not move the needle a ton in terms of roster choices this week. The presence of Ramsey, in theory, makes it harder for a player like T.Y Hilton to succeed, but evident by previous performances this season, The Jags defense is not the same unit as the one that we would avoid last season.
As reported by: Ian Rapoport TwitterJ.J. Watt will be active against the Browns today
The Houston Texans will have their star defense player J.J. Watt in the lineup vs The Browns today. While Watt practiced in a limited fashion this week, the addition of this former three-time defensive player of the year to the field this Sunday is not great news for The Browns offense.
As reported by: Dianna Russini TwitterKeke Coutee remains a game-time decision
Houston Texan’s rookie wide receiver KeKe Coutee remains a true game-time decision this week vs The Browns. Coach Bill O’Brien said the rookie will test out his hamstring prior to the game this week to determine his status. Even if Coutee plays this week he really has very limited fantasy value for the week. With The Texans offense only throwing the ball 25 times a game and the addition of veteran Demaryius Thomas it would hard to project a clear path of safe workload for Coutee.
As reported by: Ian Rapoport TwitterRandall Cobb expected to return to action for the first time in over a month
Veteran Packers receiver Randall Cobb is on track to play this week vs The Cardinals. The addition of Cobb back in the mix of receiving options makes it harder to trust such players as Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Equanimeous St. Brown. Even though Rodgers has shown a perpetuity to throw more towards receivers he trust, there is no guaranty that Cobb will see more action than his two rookie counterparts this week. Devante Adams remains the number one option in this Packers offense, and the addition of Cobb only really affect the projected targets for all of the secondary players on the team.
