AJ Derby placed on IR

AJ Derby has been placed on IR by the Dolphins this afternoon, leaving their TE depth even thinner. It’s not that they have a lack of options at the position, but the TE spot has been an afterthought in the Miami offense and none of the healthy options are even sniffing the DFS radar this week. Gesicki is likely the best dart throw of the bunch, but there are ample places to look with higher floor/ceiling combinations. The Dolphins are now down to Gesecki, Nick O’Leary and Durham Symthe at the position.

DJ Chark doesn't practice Tuesday, Jalen Ramsey limited; Darius Jennings did not practice, Tajae Sharpe limited; Mariota practiced in full

DJ Chark doesn’t practice Tuesday, Jalen Ramsey limited; Darius Jennings did not practice, Tajae Sharpe limited; Mariota practiced in full. The Jags and Titans will square off Thursday night in a game that should be hard-pressed for passing-game highlights. Cody Kessler may be without DJ Chark, who didn’t practice today but still has tomorrow to get some work in. Donte Moncrief and Dede Westbrook would benefit slightly with Keelan Cole potentially getting more involved, but you are playing with fire rostering any of the Jags pass-catchers. With Leonard Fournette due back, the game-plan should be centered around him. On the Titans side, Mariota practiced in full and should be fine for Thursday. WR Darius Jennings did miss practice, but Tajae Sharpe was able to get in a limited session. Sharpe and Taywan Taylor figure to work behind Corey Davis against Jacksonville, and the former two would benefit if Jalen Ramsey tracks Davis.

Texans activate RB D'Onta Foreman from PUP list

The Texans had a 21-day window to activate Foreman after his window to practice opened up, and that deadline was tomorrow so this move isn’t surprising. It is still a little unclear what Foreman’s role will be when he returns, and it’s fully possible that he doesn’t have a game-day role with Lamar Miller and Alfred Blue working admirably in his stead. John McClain seems to think there is a decent shot Foreman is inactive unless one of those two suffer an injury. Either way, he’s not a DFS option with Miller leading the charge.

Bills release WR Kelvin Benjamin and WR Andre Holmes

The Bills officially announced that they have parted ways with Kelvin Benjamin and Andre Holmes and will file for waivers on each veteran wide receiver Tuesday evening. Holmes had barely played in any of Buffalo’s last three games, but the departure of Benjamin will open up more snaps for Robert Foster, Isaiah McKenzie, and Deonte Thompson, each of whom played between 35-49% of snaps in the loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday afternoon. Zay Jones has been leading the Bills receiving corps in snap rate for most of the season, but he still stands to benefit from these roster transactions as he’s accumulated a total of 21 targets over the last three games.

Rams RB Malcolm Brown (clavicle) will miss the remainder of the season

The Rams officially announced that Brown will miss the remainder of the season, at a minimum, after undergoing surgery to repair his injured clavicle. This news is only relevant for daily fantasy if something were to happen to Todd Gurley in the final four games of the regular season, but head coach Sean McVay did confirm that Justin Davis and John Kelly will compete for snaps to fill Brown’s vacated backup running back role. Kelly figures to be active for the first time all season in the Rams’ Week 14 matchup against the Chicago Bears on Sunday Night Football.

RB James Conner ruled out for Week 14 with ankle sprain

The Steelers released new information about their RB1’s injury today, sharing that it was “more serious than their initial read” and describing it as an ankle sprain, not a leg contusion. Mike Tomlin has since announced that the Steelers intend to use a running back committee in Conner’s absence but Jaylen Samuels is likely to be the snap leader by a significant margin after proving to be productive in breathers for Conner over the past few weeks, particularly in the passing game. Veteran back Stevan Ridley could also become relevant again in early down situations. Samuels is only $4,600 on FanDuel and $3,700 on DraftKings this week and should be a lock to a hit value against Oakland’s pushover defense.

Steelers promote RB Trey Edmunds to active roster, place WR Justin Hunter (shoulder) on injured reserve

James Conner is reportedly dealing with a lower leg contusion, so the Steelers made a flurry of roster moves Tuesday morning, and they have placed Justin Hunter on injured reserve and promoted running back Trey Edmunds to take his place on the active roster. This activation doesn’t necessarily guarantee that Conner won’t be able to play in Week 14, but if he can’t, Edmunds would provide some much need depth behind Jaylen Samuels and Stevan Ridley at the position. As for Hunter, he was active over James Washington in Sunday night’s loss, so it appears likely that Washington will dress for game days moving forward with Hunter unavailable. However, prior to this week, Hunter was already losing snaps to Ryan Switzer and was on the field for just 23% of snaps in the previous game he was active for in Week 12.

Trey Quinn

Trey Quinn inactive for MNF; Jamison Crowder, Chris Thompson both active

Trey Quinn is inactive after spending the last few days in a walking boot, but with Jamison Crowder back, his role was going to diminish anyway. Chris Thompson’s return finally gives the Skins their best pass-catching back, although he’ll still be a game-flow dependent option along with Adrian Peterson. Kapri Bibbs’ role should be erased, but he could still see a few touches to spell Thompson.

Darren Sproles

Philadelphia Eagles

Darren Sproles, previously listed as questionable, will be active for the Eagles tonight

I never thought I’d see the day. Sproles is finally active after missing basically the entire regular season to date, and his return is welcomed as the Eagles look for a regular contributor out of the backfield in the passing game. Sproles’ presence does eat into the potential receiving workload for Josh Adams, but Sproles doesn’t figure to eat heavily into any sort of goal-line work, but he’ll be an option on passing downs in the red-zone. It’s unlikely that he ends up seeing more than 30-35% of the snaps at best in his return, but he is on the radar for Showdown slates.

Josh Adams (hip) went through warm-ups without issue and will play tonight

Josh Adams (hip) went through warm-ups without issue and will play tonight against the Redskins. He’s been trending towards playing, so this isn’t a shock. After a successful stint as the lead back against New York, Adams should fall right back into lead duties again here against Washington. This draw is a little tougher, as the Redskins are easier to move the ball against via the air, so Adams is going to need to find his way into the painted-grass to have hope at returning value this evening. This game is big to the Eagles post-season chances.

Chargers to take it day-by-day with Melvin Gordon (sprained right knee)

Chargers to take it day-by-day with Melvin Gordon (sprained right knee). He has a better shot to suit up this week per Anthony Lynn, so we’ll be monitoring his practice participation ahead of Week 14. If he’s unable to go, Austin Ekeler drew the start but Justin Jackson was also very much involved and out-gained Ekeler in yardage while also scoring the only rushing TD between the two. If Gordon returns, neither back will be on the DFS radar.

Charcandrick West

RB Charcandrick West re-signing with Chiefs

The former Chiefs back’s familiarity with the offense is apparently why West was chosen over fellow free agent C.J. Anderson. He could immediately siphon passing down snaps from Spencer Ware in a change-up role, though Ware should remain the lead back for now and benefit from the positive gamescript the Chiefs should usually find themselves in down the season’s final stretch. Damien Williams could remain involved as well in some form of a 3-man committee.

RB James Conner's leg injury "not considered major at all"

Ian Rapoport also confirmed the Steelers RB1 didn’t injure his ankle in Sunday night’s late loss to the Chargers but just suffered a leg contusion. He should have a good chance to play in Week 14 and at worst, only miss one week. Jaylen Samuels would lead the Steelers backfield in that scenario after proving to be productive in brief stints over the past few weeks, particularly in the passing game.
