CB Marcus Peters (calf) questionable for TNF; CB Aqib Talib (ankle) ruled out
Peters was originally reported to have a 2-4 week timetable for returning so this is somewhat surprising. He’s probably more on the doubtful side of questionable given the initial report but the injury may not be as bad as expected. Talib is expected to be out indefinitely as he gets ready to undergo ankle surgery. The Vikings passing game should be more likely to bounce back if the Rams are missing both of their pro bowl cornerbacks, with the projections of QB Kirk Cousins and wideouts Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs all seeing a bump. More concerning for the passing game is the ability of their struggling offensive line to give Cousins enough time to throw against a Rams’ strong defensive front.

Bucs not disclosing starting QB for Week 4
Jameis Winston is returning from his 3-game suspension this week, though the Tampa Bay Times’ still expects Fitzpatrick to get the nod in Week 4. Either way, we won’t know for sure until later in the week as head coach Dirk Koetter aims to keep the Bears guessing. Fitzpatrick has greatly exceeded expectations through the first 3 games, though may be overpriced at his tag across sites this week due to playing on the road against an equally impressive Bears defense thus far.

The Texans’ WR3 will be out indefinitely due to a hamstring injury. Look for Houston to maintain one of the most concentrated target share distributions in the league as wideouts Deandre Hopkins and Will Fuller receive the slightest of bumps with this news. Ellington had seen 12 targets through the first 3 weeks of the season.

Head Coach Mike Zimmer said “there’s a possibility” the Vikings lead back would be out there for TNF. He was enjoying a 75-25 split with Latavius Murray in Minnesota’s first 2 games where he averaged 6 targets to go along with 13 carries. Those targets could continue in a road game against a defense that’s built to force touches to running backs and tight ends. However, with the Rams losing CB’s Aqib Talib and Marcus Peters, perhaps the Vikings wideouts are used more at Cook’s expense if he were to play. Murray will see most of the snaps if Cook can’t go again, though gamescript doesn’t set up well for him attached to a 6.5-point road underdog. The veteran back only saw 2 rushes in their blowout loss to Buffalo on Sunday, though he did surprisingly see 7 targets in the pass game proving his usage will be more than that of a one-dimensional back when Cook is out.

Steelers inactives include Justin Hunter yet again, setting up James Washington to continue seeing ample snaps as the WR3. He played about 80% of the snaps in Week 2 which may have had something to do with the Steelers playing catch-up throughout, but he should still operate as the WR3 and play somewhere in the neighborhood of 50-80% of the offensive snaps. He’s a fine dart-throw for Showdown contests if you want to differentiate.

Jones out again as Peyton Barber will see the linoshare of the action at Running Back for Tampa Bay again tonight. CB Brent Grimes and C Ryan Jenson are ACTIVE.
Hayden Hurst Getting Closer to Playing
Coach Harbaugh said that TE Hayden Hurst (foot) could return to practice this week. Joe Flacco has always done well targeting Tight Ends. Perhaps Hurst can be a decent DFS play at some point, but let Hurst establish himself before rostering the rookie tight end.

Giants’ TE Evan Engram sprained his MCL and will be considered week to week, per source. Guys usually take some time to recover from sprained knee ligaments. In the meantime we should see an uptick from other Wide Receivers other than Odell Beckham. Perhaps Sterling Shepard steps up.
