Foles Starting Again
Doug Pederson stated: “Nick Foles is starting.” today. So we will get another week of Foles under center for the Eagles. It’s a nice matchup with Tampa Bay so perhaps Foles can get on track in this game.

Jaguars say RB Leonard Fournette (hamstring) and C Brandon Linder (knee) not expected to practice on Wednesday. TJ Yeldon is a very capable fantasy option if Fournette remains out this week.

Report: Bills bench Nathan Peterman, Josh Allen will start. This is bigger news in terms of the Chargers defense than it is for fantasy players in regards to Josh Allen. Allen is not an option you should be looking at outside of deep GPP’s. The Chargers look like a strong unit Sunday.
Steelers All-in with James Conner in the Week 2 Game Plan
Le’Veon Bell is still not anywhere to be found at the Steelers team meeting this morning. It looks like another week of full James Conner
As reported by: Jeremy FowlerChris Carson in line for larger workload?
Coach Pete Carroll praised RB Chris Carson today stating he “really took the lead at that position”. Carroll went on to comment on RB Rashaad Penny being rusty and implied that the backs were not likely to evenly split time in Week 2. This would appear to be a wise move as Carson noticeably outperformed Penny in Week 1. Even so, the Seahawks run game has another tough matchup in Week 2 at Chicago.

Dixon’s knee injury is going to cost him some time. Alex Collins and Buck Allen will pick up his snaps in what is almost certain to remain a committee in Baltimore where the former eats up early down duties and the latter shuffles in on passing downs. The 2 backs racked up nearly an even snap count in Week 1’s blowout of Buffalo, though Collins did lose a fumble early in that game where he was briefly benched, suggesting he may have a short leash in Week 2.

The signing of Aiken hints at WR Alshon Jeffery being unlikely to return in Week 2 when the Eagles take on a weak Bucs secondary. Perhaps Aiken competes for the team’s third wide receiver spot in the interim, but Nelson Agholor and Mike Wallace are locked in to 2-WR sets.

The wide receiver has a partial tear in his MCL and appears likely to be out for at least the next 2 weeks leaving QB Russell Wilson without his favorite target. The Seahawks also added WR Keenan Reynolds to the active roster today all but confirming Baldwin will miss time. Tyler Lockett and Brandon Marshall should take on bigger roles in the offense for the time being. Perhaps Jaron Brown will see a few more targets now as well. The Seahawks play at Chicago on Monday night.

TE Hayden Hurst didn’t practice again today and looks doubtful for Thursday night. Nick Boyle paced the Ravens TE corps with 3 catches for 40 yards in Sunday’s blowout of the Bills, though fellow tight ends Maxx Williams and Mark Andrews weren’t too far behind with 3 catches each of their own. Nonetheless, Boyle started the game for the Ravens, was in on nearly 70% of the team’s snaps, and tied for the team lead in targets. He appears worthy of some consideration on smaller slates in a game that the Ravens may be forced to pass more this time around when they take on a stronger opponent in Cincinnati.

Keenum had a few issues with turnovers last week, but the rest of the signs were very much positive. The coaching staff allowed him to sling it 39 times against Seattle, and he was able to amass 329 passing yards and three scores. With a slew of receivers at his disposal, the upside is clearly there, and this week’s matchup is better against a mediocre Raiders defense that doesn’t offer much without Khalil Mack terrorizing opponents anymore. Keenum’s price tag is dirt cheap, and I love the idea of pairing him up with Sanders or Thomas once again in Week 2.
Itching for More Work in Week 2
If you didn’t catch any of last week’s Chiefs/Chargers game before seeing that the Chiefs put up 38 points, you probably would have expected a big game from Kareem Hunt. Then, you look at the box score and see what amounts to pretty much a massive letdown, as he had just 49 rushing yards and didn’t catch a single pass. Well, a lot of that was “fluky” as the Chiefs got a punt return touchdown and another long touchdown from Tyreek Hill, and then they used some razzle dazzle on the goal line later in the game. Running away from Hunt now is the epitome of small sample size recency bias, and all signs should point to a nice rebound here. The Steelers have been nothing short of abysmal in rush defense since Ryan Shazier got hurt, and nobody is threatening Hunt’s touches in the Kansas City backfield. Hop back aboard with confidence and hope everyone else stays away.
A Sneaky Dirt Cheap Play in Week 2
Those that are saving money this week will almost instantly gravitate toward Jared Cook at the tight end position. While he’s hard to ignore after posting a 9/180 line on Monday Night Football, I like the idea of pivoting to Kittle in tournaments. He might see a few more looks if Marquise Goodwin happens to be sidelined, and the 49ers might struggle to throw the ball outside more than anyone expected heading into the season. Garoppolo has yet to establish a rapport with Garcon, and Goodwin isn’t going to be 100% even if he plays. This might open up some more looks for Kittle, who has proven to be a fine pass catching tight end when healthy and is coming off a respectable 5/90 line on nine targets in the opener. He’s a great pivot off Cook this week.
A Blast from the Past
Well hello there, vintage Adrian Peterson! He put up a turn back the clock performance against an Arizona team that didn’t exactly treat him right, as he racked up a massive 166 yards from scrimmage on 28 touches. Game flow certainly helped to some degree, but Peterson is clearly better than the likes of Rob Kelley for this team. Chris Thompson will steal more snaps in games where the Redskins are behind, but I don’t expect them to fall way behind a scuffling Colts squad here in Week 2. Joe Mixon logged 5.6 yards per carry against the Indianapolis defense last week and added 5/54 through the air, making this a fine matchup. Peterson is a fine mid-range selection, especially if he is going to get overlooked in GPP formats.
The Top Running Back Play on the Board
Kamara will likely be chalky again this week, but he’s going to be a difficult player to fade in any format. His involvement in the passing game gives him a heck of a floor even in contests where the Saints are trailing (like last week), and his clear-cut lead back role with Mark Ingram suspended gives him a heck of a floor in contests where the Saints are leading (which will likely happen this week). Kamara is a versatile play-maker who is bound to break a few big plays against a Browns defense that, while improved, still has some work to do. Expect more rushing attempts this week after game script went awry in Week 1, and Kamara should be the top running back play on the board.
Time to Explode
Antonio Brown had a little bit of difficulty getting things rolling in Week 1 with the difficult weather in Cleveland, but he still put up a 9/93/1 line with 16 targets. This is the type of line we can realistically expect as a floor on a weekly basis for Brown, especially as long as Le’Veon Bell remains away from the team. This is a perfect smash spot in a game against a Chiefs defense that has absolutely nothing in the secondary with Marcus Peters off to greener pastures. Philip Rivers threw for 424 yards a week ago against them, and this sets up to be a huge game for Pittsburgh’s top wide receiver. He’s my top overall play on the board this week.
