Young QB-WR Duo Available at Bargain Prices
Prices for the upcoming week came out prior to the Monday Night Football games, which means they don’t factor in the surprising success the Jets passing offense had on the road against Detroit. Rookie Sam Darnold completed 16 of 21 pass attempts for 198 yards, including two touchdowns. Darnold seemed to favor WR Quincy Enunwa, peppering the receiver with 10 targets that lead to 6 catches for 63 yards and a touchdown. This week Darnold and Enunwa get a matchup at home against a Miami Dolphins defense that ranked 17th in passing yards per game allowed last season, and at rock-bottom prices across sites this week, they are looking like point-per-dollar bargains.

Marquise Goodwin not practicing Wednesday
The 49ers receiver remains questionable for Week 2’s home opener. He suffered a thigh injury early in Week 1 and didn’t return. Rookie WR Dante Pettis filled in admirably for 61 yards and a touchdown, seeing nearly all the first-team snaps once Goodwin went down. Look for him to be a popular value play against a Lions defense that just got lit up by a rookie-led Jets team on Monday night, if Goodwin can’t go.

TE Vance McDonald practices in full; expects to play Sunday
McDonald was expected to be the Steelers’ featured tight end before an ankle injury kept him out in Week 1. He went off for 116 yards in last year’s final playoff game against Jacksonville so the upside is certainly there against a putrid Chiefs secondary that may be without S Eric Berry. However, Antonio Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster will remain QB Ben Roethlisberger’s favorite targets and there’s a chance McDonald could initially be eased in coming off injury, so the floor is low. Assuming McDonald plays, fellow TE Jesse James can be safely ignored for DFS purposes.

The Titans QB was throwing at practice Wednesday, while head coach Mike Vrabel shared that Mariota “is feeling good” and expected to play Week 2 against Houston “barring a setback”. This is a boon to the fantasy outlook of all Titans skill players as the team would have been forced to turn to Blaine Gabbert in relief, though Mariota did struggle in the team’s opener at Miami. WR Corey Davis emerged as a top option in Week 1 with 6 catches on 13 targets and figures to benefit from this news, particularly with TE Delanie Walker now being done for the season.

With Greg Olsen sidelined, Rookie Ian Thomas was expected to replace most of Olsen’s snaps after receiving some preseason buzz, but this now appears less likely given today’s announcement of a committee. The real beneficiaries of Olsen’s absence should be Devin Funchess and Christian McCaffrey. Both players averaged two or more targets per game with Olsen out last season, making them possible values in Week 2.

Bryant signed a 1-year contract after recently being released. With a year-long suspension possibly looming for substance abuse, it’s still questionable as to whether he’ll play right away. If Bryant beats the suspension, he’ll provide some speed to a receiving corps that struggled to separate in Week 1, and potentially push WR Amari Cooper back into the slot, where he had much more success last season. Even so, the Raiders take on Denver who sport one of the league’s best slot corners in Chris Harris, so expectations would still need to be tempered for Cooper this week.

The Packers WR1 missed practice with a shoulder injury today. Wideouts Geronimo Allison and Randall Cobb would see their stocks rise were Adams to sit out, though he’s quoted as “feeling good” about playing Sunday.

As expected, the starting TE and backup RB won’t be out there against the Bengals. Nick Boyle paced the Ravens TE corps with 3 catches for 40 yards in Sunday’s blowout of the Bills, though fellow tight ends Maxx Williams and Mark Andrews weren’t too far behind with 3 catches each of their own. Nonetheless, Boyle started the game for the Ravens, was in on nearly 70% of the team’s snaps, and tied for the team lead in targets. He appears worthy of some consideration on smaller slates in a game that the Ravens may be forced to pass more this time around. Alex Collins and Buck Allen will pick up Dixon’s snaps in what is likely to remain a committee. The 2 backs racked up nearly an even snap count in Week 1, though Collins did lose a fumble early in that game where he was briefly benched, suggesting he could have a short leash in Week 2.

Assuming he practices fully this week, the Colts projected starting RB coming into the season, should be able to make his debut on Sunday at Washington. He would likely lead a committee that includes Jordan Wilkins and Nyheim Hines.

The veteran WR remains in the concussion protocol and is also suffering from a shoulder injury. He appears questionable for Week 2’s matchup against the Eagles. Chris Godwin would soak up the majority of Jackson’s snaps with Adam Humphries possibly seeing some more action as well.

Head coach Dan Quinn announced that the running back wouldn’t be practicing today suggesting he may not be as healthy as the team originally indicated. If Freeman can’t go in Week 2, Tevin Coleman would go from his usual 1B role to having the backfield all to himself. Despite a tough matchup with the Panthers in Week 2, this would make Coleman a borderline RB1 at a price of under $6,000 on both FanDuel and DraftKings.

The Vikings 2nd-year back was quoted saying his [knee injury] “is over with” and “he didn’t really feel sore” after his first game. He ended up outsnapping Latavius Murray 57 to 14 on Sunday and doubling the fellow RB in touches, suggesting that Cook could be closer to more of a workhorse role than many expected after this preseason.

This is an inury we need to monitor this week. If Parker comes back he takes away from Kenny Stills. If Parker remains out then Stills is a solid bet to produce fantasy points. Stills floor becomes much higher with Parker out.
Kenneth Dixon Out with Injury
Dixon will be sidelined a few weeks. Perhaps this opens up more opportunity for Alex Collins.
Alshon Jeffery Limited in Practice
Alshon looks like he will miss another week. He is taking part in individual work but not yet joining his team for those parts of practice. Plan your rosters as iff Alshon is out again. That means more Nelson Agholar and maybe we have a Mike Wallace sighting this week in a great matchup
