The Millionaire review series will provide the reader with a breakdown of the exposures of “top of the leaderboard” players, the top single-entry lineup, and a comparison between all single entry lineups and professionals for the weekly DraftKings Millionaire Maker GPP.

This week, we looked at the $4.44M Fantasy Football Millionaire [$1M to 1st!] on DraftKings with a buy-in of $20 and maximum entry limit of 150 lineups per person.

Multi-Entry Grinders of the Game

TeeJayOrTj managed to place twice within the top-100 and finished with an overall cash rate of 74.7% while playing what looks like a ton of chalk. However, he went heavy on some specific chalk plays while throwing in a handful of lineups including some overlooked players (Andrew Luck, Philip Rivers, T.Y. Hilton, Cameron Meredith, and others). With Minnesota heavy favorites at home versus an inconsistent Texans offense, McKinnon was a popular play to see a heavy workload to run out the clock (and fill the void of Stefon Diggs). At receiver, where he flexed them 99% of the time, he focused heavily on the NYJ/PIT brawl, owning the top two pass catchers on each team at an increased rate. The other prime games he targeted were CHI/IND and SD/OAK.

Themasterson, on the other hand, took a more contrarian approach at quarterback while following in-line with the same flex mentality and targeted games. San Diego had lost their lockdown corner in Jason Verrett to a torn ACL which turned their face-off with Oakland into a potential shootout. Themasterson rostered Derek Carr at a 34.9% clip and paired him with a copious amount of Amari Cooper who had been TD-dry as of late (positive regression incoming). Other QB/WR combo’s he favored were Luck/Hilton, Fitzpatrick/Enunwa, and Roethlisberger/AB. Without having Brandon Marshall or Sammy Coates in many lineups, he made up for them with a 94% ownership in Cameron Meredith and 40.3% ownership in T.Y. Hilton. These great value plays lead him to a 87.9% cash rate, but he only peaked with a 410th place finish due to missing some auxiliary pieces.

Wally1278 played through the gamut of QBs, but focused on Ryan Fitzpatrick at his absurdly low price and Tom Brady making his glorious return. The rest of his positions were just as contrarian as he keyed in on the best running back in the league (Le’Veon Bell) at 84.7% due to relatively cheap price. Lining up down the line from Le’Veon was Antonio Brown at 94.7% due to the value that could be found this week and the insane market share each piece would see. Next up in his WR column are Brandon LaFell, Eddie Royal (after not practicing all week), and Quincy Enunwa (taking Decker’s work). While many of his picks weren’t sexy, he definitely knew what he was doing with Martellus Bennett bringing up the rear at 82%; banking on Gronkowski still not being at 100% while running many two tight-end sets. With such a contrarian strategy this week, you would normally believe he would’ve bombed, but Wally finished up with a 67.3% cash rate with potential for much more (once Le’Veon finds paydirt).

Single-Entry Winner of the Game

Jamal07’s lineup is one you might expect to be entered by a casual player at first glance. He didn’t pick-up a correlated play to pair with Philip Rivers, but he did play opposing WRs in Brandon Marshall & Sammie Coates as well as a few leverage plays off their more popular counterparts (Coates instead of Brown, Bennett over Gronk, Cobb instead of Nelson). The Vikings defense is looking like the 2015 Broncos each week, while Todd Gurley was favored in a game at home against a mediocre run defense (and seeing more work in the passing game). Jamal07’s focus on a few auxiliary plays and value plays (Jordan Howard) of the week allowed him to cash in on a cool million off his $20.
