Logan Verrett : FD: $6,300 — DK: $4,000
Pitching Stats:

Philadelphia Phillies Offense (2015)
vs. RH Pitching: wOBA: 0.295 (Rank: 30) — Strikeout Rate: 20.8% (Rank: 19)
Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.267 (Rank: 29) — Strikeout Rate: 27.9% (Rank: 30)
Pitches per PA: 3.74 (Rank: 25)
Analysis: Verrett has pitched well in his spot starts this season, posting a 3.88 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 19.3%. While he draws a favorable matchup against the Phillies, we can’t expect him to pitch deep into this game. He has yet to top 93 pitches in any start this season and he has only thrown more than 75 pitches once. He may be a cheap source for a win though, and given his $4,000 price tag on DraftKings, he could very easily pay off his salary.
Pitcher Rating: 68.9
Alec Asher : FD: $5,500 — DK: $4,100
Pitching Stats:

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.325 (Rank: 12) — Strikeout Rate: 21.7% (Rank: 13)
Pitches per PA: 3.88 (Rank: 6)
Analysis: Asher has not fared well this season, posting a 5.10 SIERA (7.52 ERA) with a low strikeout rate of 12.6%. He draws a difficult matchup tonight against the Mets, who are a much-improved offensive team against right-handed pitching. Asher is a large underdog at home and he can safely be avoided in all league formats.
Pitcher Rating: 30.2

NY Mets
The Mets have the third-highest team total tonight on the board tonight, as they square off against rookie Alec Asher in the home run friendly Citizens Bank Park. Hitters from both sides of the plate are in play here, as Asher has allowed a .360+ wOBA to both left and right-handed hitters this season.

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.296 (Rank: 26) — Strikeout Rate: 15.2% (Rank: 1)
Pitches per PA: 3.75 (Rank: 24)
Analysis: Zimmermann has been in good form over the last month of play, posting a 3.43 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 25.0%. Even though the Braves have the second-lowest strikeout rate against right-handed pitching, they also have the third-lowest wOBA. Zimmermann has a great chance to pitch deep into this game and with Williams Perez pitching opposite him, he should get plenty of run support.

Pitches per PA: 3.80 (Rank: 19)
Analysis: Perez has not fared well this season, posting a 4.90 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 14.3% and a walk rate of 9.8%. He draws a difficult matchup tonight against a Nationals’ offense that has the ninth-highest team wOBA over the last two weeks of play. Perez is a large underdog tonight at home and he provides very little upside at pitcher.
Pitcher Rating: 45.0

The Nationals have a high team total tonight, as they square off against Williams Perez, who has allowed a .331+ wOBA to both left and right-handed hitters this season. Analysis: Cosart may have a 1.37 ERA over the last month of play, but his indicators suggest that he has been the same pitcher that we have seen over the last two seasons. He has a below-average strikeout rate and he is a sizable underdog tonight on the road. Even though the Rays struggle against right-handed pitching, Cosart doesn’t provide enough upside to warrant consideration tonight.

Pitches per PA: 3.72 (Rank: 29)
Analysis: Smyly has been terrific over the last month of play, posting a 3.11 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 30.6%. As I mentioned last night with Matt Moore, the Marlins may hit left-handed pitching well as a team, but they aren’t scaring anyone with that lineup. Smyly is arguably my favorite pitching option on the board tonight. In addition to being in great form, he gets to pitch at home tonight in the pitcher-friendly Tropicana Field.
Pitcher Rating: 84.3

The Marlins hit left-handed pitching well as a team, but they draw a difficult matchup tonight against Drew Smyly, who has held left-handed hitters to an amazingly low .221 wOBA over the last two seasons. The right-handed hitters in this lineup don’t have enough upside to deserve consideration tonight.

Analysis: Lester continues to pitch well for the Cubs, posting a 3.09 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 25.3% over the last month of play. He draws a mediocre matchup tonight against the Reds, who are ranked 18th in team wOBA and 12th in strikeout rate against left-handed pitching this season. Lester comes in as the top-rated pitching option on the board tonight and since the Cubs are still fighting for playoff positioning, they have every reason to try to win tonight.

Analysis: Desclafani has pitched well over the last month of play, posting a 3.04 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 23.2%. His biggest issue tonight is his matchup. The Cubs have a lot of left-handed power hitters in their lineup and Desclafani has allowed a .344 wOBA to hitters from that side of the plate. Desclafani may also struggle with run support here, as Jon Lester will be on the bump for the Cubbies.

Cleveland
The Indians have one of the most favorable matchups on the schedule tonight. Mike Pelfrey has allowed a .344+ wOBA to both left and right-handed hitters over the last two seasons. Even though the Indians don’t have anything to play for, they are still one of the top offenses to target tonight.
