Milwaukee Bucks

Notable Fantasy Players

The Bucks enter tonight one game ahead of the Hawks for the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference. The over/under here is just 201.5 which is the lowest of the night. The main place to focus on Milwaukee is going to be Giannis Antetokounmpo. This slate doesn’t contain a lot of star power which will allow us to pay a premium for Antetokounmpo. He’s topped 44 fantasy points in each of his three meetings with the Pacers this season. While Antetokounmpo carries more downside than we would normally want at this price there isn’t another shooting guard on this slate that possesses his upside.

The other Bucks in consideration tonight are Khris Middleton, Greg Monroe and Matthew Dellavedova. With this being the lowest total of the night I would stop at Middleton and even that’s a big risk. Middleton is coming off a 15.4 fantasy point game against Oklahoma City where he played just 23 minutes. Part of the reason for that was that the Bucks lost 79-110. The other part of it is the Bucks getting fully healthy again. Michael Beasley is going to slowly start to see his minutes increase and they are almost certainly going to come at the expense of Middleton.

Indiana Pacers

On the other side of this game, the Pacers enter in a three way tie for seventh in the Eastern Conference. Vegas sees this as a low scoring closely-contested game. With this being the lowest total on the slate but almost 10 points I wouldn’t look to the Pacers in cash games. The Bucks are strong against PG which takes Jeff Teague out of play and Paul George is priced at the same level as Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The two places I think you can look on the Pacers are Myles Turner and Lance Stephenson. Turner is a fringe elite play on DraftKings where you can play two centers and he’s priced at just $5,500. The Bucks are middle-of-the-pack against centers ranking 15th. Turner has posted 22.8, 31.8 and 20.9 fantasy points in three meetings with the Bucks this season (FanDuel scoring). After trying and failing several different places, Lance Stephenson has found his way back to a Pacers team that is the only place he was ever really successful. He’s settled into the backup SG role playing 18 and 25 minutes in his first two games. Strictly as a tournament punt play Stephenson could be worth a look though I personally don’t see the need to get that cute.

Chicago Bulls

Notable Fantasy Players

Our second game of the night features a 211 over/under with a spread of 5.5. The Bulls are involved in that three-way tie for seventh and absolutely have to win this game. They’ll be paying without both Dwyane Wade and Rajon Rondo. According to CourtIQ, Jimmy Butler owns a 36.6% usage rate and averages 55.2 fantasy points per 36 minutes with Wade and Rondo off the court. On the other side of this game the 76ers are without Robert Covington who is easily their best defender. They have very little chance of slowing down Jimmy Butler tonight. In almost the same conditions, these teams met on March 24th. Butler had 66.9 fantasy points in that game.

With so much interest in Butler, Robin Lopez will likely go overlooked tonight. He hasn’t been great lately but he does average around 28.6 fantasy points per 36 minutes. He had a terrible game against these same 76ers on March 24th but the game prior to that he posted 42 fantasy points in 31 minutes. The 76ers are easily the worst team in the league against center and we honestly aren’t asking for a lot at this price. With the pricing on this slate I don’t feel the need to use Nikola Mirotic or Michael Carter-Williams. In my opinion, this is going to be another game where Butler puts the team on his back and everyone else takes a back seat.

Philadelphia 76ers

Notable Fantasy Players

On the other side of this game, the 76ers have been eliminated from the playoffs and are simply trying to ride out the remainder of the season without anymore injuries. The Bulls are a pretty average matchup in terms of fantasy points allowed. For the most part, avoiding Jimmy Butler is all you really need to do here. The biggest news on the 76ers side is that Dario Saric is now limited to 24 minutes per game. He’s an avoid in all formats at his current price.

The main place I’m looking here is T.J. McConnell. With Rodriguez out, McConnell has no competition for minutes at PG. He’s played at least 33 minutes in three of the past four games. He only owns a 17.6% usage rate on the season but he contributes in enough categories that he makes it work for fantasy purposes. He topped 31 fantasy points in both games that he started against the Bulls this season.

Outside of McConnell, the other 76ers that can be considered are the cheap ones. Justin Anderson is an ok value on FanDuel but overpriced on DraftKings. There’s also some concern that Alex Poythress could eat into Anderson’s minutes. Poythress has played 24 and 27 minutes in his first two games since being signed out of the D-League. In tournaments, Poythress is worth a look as a low-upside play priced near the minimum. Finally, Shawn Long has topped 20 fantasy points in every game this season that he’s played 18+ minutes. Included in that sample was a 30.9 against these Bulls. He’s only a secondary play tonight though as there simply isn’t enough star power to warrant Shawn Long as a punt play.

Brooklyn Nets

Notable Fantasy Players

Our third game of the night features a 227 over/under which is the highest of the night. Both the Nets are Magic are eliminated from the playoffs so this game is being played for draft position. When these teams met last Saturday the Nets won 121-111 which kicked off a three-game win streak for the Nets (Their longest of the season). If you are wondering, the Nets have the worst record in the league locked up so they don’t need to worry about tanking anymore. Not that it would matter anyways though, the Celtics have the right to swap picks with the Nets and they obviously will. For fantasy purposes, there are three main targets on the Nets.

Brook Lopez draws the best matchup against a Magic team that is 26th against center. When these teams met last Saturday Lopez had 42.9 fantasy points in 28 minutes. The obvious concern with Lopez is that he needs to be ultra-efficient. His minute totals the last four games are: 23,30, 28 and 31. He almost never surpasses the 3-minute mark. That’s already been priced in though. For 5X value we would be looking for 35 fantasy points here. That’s a feat Lopez has accomplished in three of the past five games.

Jeremy Lin is in a similar position to Lopez. He’s topped 25 fantasy points in each of the last six games. He’s played more than 30 minutes just twice in the last 22 games that he has played in. The Nets have no reason to overuse their oft-injured point guard. The matchup here is interesting though as the Magic rank 27th against PG and Elfrid Payton owns a -0.47 Defensive Real Plus Minus (DRPM). I prefer T.J. McConnell at the same price though which makes Lin more of a secondary play tonight.

Orlando Magic

Notable Fantasy Players

On the other side of this game, the Magic get the best possible fantasy matchup. The Nets rank 23rd or worse against every single position on the court. With that said, the Magic options are priced appropriately for this matchup on both sites. While you could play any of their five starters and not be wrong, the three that stand out to me are Aaron Gordon, Terrence Ross and Nikola Vucevic.

When these teams met last Saturday, Nikola Vucevic had 42.7 fantasy points in 32 minutes. When they met in December he had a similar game posting 48 fantasy points. While Vucevic struggles to defend centers like Lopez who can shoot from distance that’s not a huge concern tonight. This game doesn’t mean anything in the standings which would make the Magic unlikely to adjust their rotation. Especially if Vucevic can at least be effective on the offensive end.

In Saturday’s meeting with the Magic Aaron Gordon posted a massive game with 50.5 fantasy points in 35 minutes. The Magic have already ruled out Jeff Green for the remainder of the season leaving mainly just Terrence Ross and Aaron Gordon to man SF and PF. Gordon typically thrives in these fast-paced matchup. Especially against a Nets team that starts an undersized Rondae Hollis-Jefferson at PF.

The third Magic option is Terrence Ross. He draws secondary consideration tonight partially because he only had 13.4 fantasy points on Saturday. Some of that was because there simply weren’t any points to go Aaron with both Gordon and Vucevic posting big games. Saturday was the only game in the past nine that Ross has failed to top 20 fantasy points. He’s a strong option at a rather weak SF position tonight.

Washington Wizards

Notable Fantasy Players

Our fourth game of the night is perhaps the hardest to handicap. The Wizards are half a game out of third in the Eastern Conference but seven games ahead of fourth. They’ll face a Knicks team that has given up on the season for the most part. How this game plays out ultimately depends on injuries on both sides. The Wizards list Markieff Morris questionable and the Knicks list Kristaps Porzingis questionable. If one or both end up sitting out we could see quite a bit of small-ball here. The biggest problem in terms of fantasy viability is the Wizards being overpriced.

John Wall is rarely ever worth paying $10K for. The same goes for Bradley Beal at $7.5K. Is it possible that one of the Wizards core players posts a huge game? Absolutely! Is there any easy way to predict who that might be though? Not really. The closest thing I see to a cash game play here would be Jason Smith if Markieff Morris gets ruled out. Smith scored 21.8 and 35.4 fantasy points in two starts for Morris last month. With that said, Smith isn’t a sure thing though if this game goes small. Otto Porter or Bojan Bogdanovic could easily slide over to PF. None of the Wizards stand out tonight as a better play than someone else at the same position priced similarly.

New York Knicks

Notable Fantasy Players

As unpredictable as the Wizards are tonight, the Knicks might be worse. A lot of how we use the Knicks tonight will depend on Kristaps Porzingis. Carmelo Anthony owns a 40.9% usage rate with both Rose and Porzingis off the court. Obviously, the bulk of that usage was earlier in the season when the Knicks were competitive. The Knicks announced a couple weeks ago that they would limit Anthony’s minutes to end the season. So far Anthony has really only been limited in one game where he played just 28 minutes. Anthony has sat out four of the past seven games. He’s now priced cheap enough on both DK and FD that we can consider him once we confirm that he’s playing.

The safest play on the Knicks regardless of Porzingis’ status is Ron Baker. He’s started the past four games in place of Rose playing 37+ minutes in three of four. Even with that volume, Baker isn’t a high-upside option. He still owns a usage rate of just 12.5% as a starter. A matchup against John Wall is also a tough one as the Wizards rank 9th against PG. With all that said, Baker is easily the safest cheap PG on the slate. His volume of minutes trumps any usage or matchup concerns.

The final option on the Knicks is Guillermo Hernangomez. He’s a secondary option because of the log jam at center tonight. He’s averaging just 23.5 FPPG over the past five games. He was impressive in his only matchup with the Wizards this season though. He had 36.8 fantasy points in 31 minutes. The Wizards DVP ranking of 20th against center says that we can attack them there.

Boston Celtics

Notable Fantasy Players

The fifth game of the night features two playoff-bound teams still battling for position. The over/under here is 210 with a spread of just one. Despite the competitive nature of this game it features the least amount of options. On the Celtics side of the ball, Isaiah Thomas draws a good matchup against Dennis Schroder. Point Guard is one of the best places to attack the Hawks. Thomas is averaging 39.4 FPPG over the past five games having topped 30 fantasy points in each of his last 18 games. At his current price, Thomas will almost never crush you in cash games. He safely projects somewhere in the upper 30s in this matchup.

Avery Bradley played 33 minutes last night after returning from an illness that forced him to miss two games. The Hawks are vulnerable at SG ranking 25th against the position. If Bradley plays minutes into the upper 30s tonight he’s worth a look as a secondary option at SG. He’s topped 30 fantasy points in three of the last five games he’s played.

Notable Fantasy Players

On the other side of this game the Hawks are getting everyone healthy which makes them difficult to target. The closest anyone comes here to being a viable fantasy option is Dennis Schroder. The Celtics are 18th against PG on the season as Isaiah Thomas owns a -4.17 DRPM. In games the Hawks need to win though they typically use Avery Bradley on their opponents best guard and simply hide Thomas on an off the ball player. There’s a good chance that Thomas ends up guarding Tim Hardaway Jr or Kent Bazemore tonight instead of Schroder.

The best place to attack the Celtics this season has been at PF and C. With that said, Dwight Howard is overpriced from his time playing without Paul Millsap while Millsap himself may not see a full load of minutes. I’ll take my chances on mostly avoiding the Hawks tonight though Schroder and Howard are viable in tournaments.
