Toney Douglas will play against the Pelicans tonight
Toney Douglas is expected to play tonight against his former team. They directly hurts the value of Andrew Harrison and Wade Baldwin, making them both extremely volatile options. Harrison is likely overpriced and it’s possible that Baldwin will gain ownership after his strong game. Both players can still play well, but are extremely risky plays due to the playing time expected by Douglas.

Ed Davis will start at PF; Al-Farouq Aminu (calf) to play 16-20 minutes off the bench
Aminu will play in tonight’s game against the Chicago Bulls after being sidelined for 13 games with a strained left calf. Aminu will come off the bench in his return and be limited to approximately 16-20 minutes, meaning that Ed Davis will remain in the starting lineup at power forward. With Aminu finally active, it’s tough to get on board with any of these Portland wing players as viable fantasy options until we get a better idea of how the rotation will shake out.

Ariza and Nene will play in tonight’s game against the Boston Celtics after being listed as questionable on the Rockets injury report with separate physical ailments. Their availability removes any viability of Montrezl Harrell on this slate and is significant knock to the value of Sam Dekker. In fact, Dekker now becomes a borderline secondary play with all the Rockets players active and available. He could be worth a shot in tournaments but most likely lacks the upside needed in tournaments.

Take this news with a grain of salt; last time Scott Brooks mentioned that he wanted to monitor minutes, John Wall still ended up seeing upwards of 35 minutes, so this may mean absolutely nothing. If Beal ends up in the mid-thirties in terms of minutes, nothing should change here. Wall and Beal are both very strong targets against a Brooklyn team that plays very fast. The Nets are ranked towards the bottom of the league in terms of defending both PGs and SGs, and most of the Washington offense should be funneled through these two. If Beal’s minutes are limited in any way, Marcus Thornton, Kelly Oubre and Tomas Satoransky are all potential candidates to see a slight minutes bump, but none of them are viable DFS plays.

This is bad news for those hoping to pick up some potential value in Enes Kanter. While Kanter is still a potential GPP target with Adams ailing, he’s no longer in the cash game conversation. Adams’ presence also makes things a bit more difficult for both Atlanta bigs (Howard and Millsap/Muscala), and could be a slight boon for the entire Hawks offense seeing as the Thunder’s rim protection is bolstered. Adams himself isn’t a recommended DFS target this evening with guys like Joel Embiid, Clint Capela and John Henson being more interesting cash game/GPP targets at the center spot.

Sefolosha will draw the start at shooting guard over the struggling Kyle Korver for tonight’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. He could see a slight uptick in minutes but his fantasy viability ultimately comes down to whether he can actually take advantage of those minutes. Sefolosha has consistently shown the propensity to not convert opportunity into fantasy production, so there are better options to target on an 11-game slate.

Holiday and Moore will not play in tonight’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies with separate toe injuries. However, Anthony Davis will give it go after dealing with a sprained right foot. Tim Frazier will almost certainly draw the start at point guard, though there are a variety of different ways the Pelicans can go at shooting guard. With that said, Buddy Hield and Langston Galloway are the most likely candidates to draw the start in place of Moore. Both are viable punt options in tournament, but Frazier seems to be the largest beneficiary in terms of minutes and has a solid 22.1% usage rate with Holiday and Moore off the court this season.

Stauskas has been officially named the starting small forward in place of Robert Covington for tonight’s game against the Denver Nuggets. This is the second consecutive game Covington has been sidelined with a knee injury and also the second consecutive game that Stauskas will start at the three. In the previous game, he saw 33 minutes but his fantasy output was ultimately underwhelming. Stauskas is a decent punt option in tournaments at a shallow shooting guard position, though he is too volatile to be trusted elsewhere.

Okafor will not play in tonight’s game against the Denver Nuggets after being listed as questionable on the Sixers injury report due to an illness. Okafor has also been ruled out for Tuesday in advance of tomorrow night’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies. In his absence, Richaun Holmes should see the majority of backup center minutes behind Joel Embiid, while Dario Saric and Ersan Ilyasova will split nearly all the minutes at power forward. Saric is the preferred play of the trio, as he is likely to also get some decent run at small forward with Robert Covington already ruled out. Embiid still remains basically the only play at center on FanDuel and should get a slight bump in his already elite usage rate, as he and Okafor had recently begun playing some minutes together.

James Johnson, Dion Waiters, and Justise Winslow OUT on Tuesday for Heat
The beat up Heat have announced their injury report for their game with the Knicks tomorrow with James Johnson, Dion Waiters, and Justise Winslow all ruled out. Josh Richardson and Luke Babbitt are also listed as questionable. If Richardson can’t go the Heat will likely run out a starting lineup of Whiteside, McRoberts, McGruder, Ellington, and Dragic.

This is a hit to the PG position for the Lakers with D’Angelo Russell already out. With how much Luke Walton likes keeping Jordan Clarkson and Lou Williams with the second unit it wouldn’t be surprising to see Marcelo Huertas in the starting lineup – he won’t see much volume though as Walton will probably be quick to bring Clarkson in. Brandom Ingram also benefits from this news.

Dante Cunningham, Tyreke Evans, and Quincy Pondexter are all out for the Pelicans tonight when they face the Grizzlies while Anthony Davis is listed as probable. Evans is getting closer to a return but isn’t quite there yet while Cunningham will be sidelined for at least a month. Davis is obviously the key player here but he’ll face a tough Memphis defense that is 5th in PF DvP. With such a large slate on tap, it’s one of the rare times where an argument can be made for a fade of Davis.
