Shabazz Muhammad

Milwaukee Bucks

Shabazz Muhammad will play tonight; Andrew Wiggins ruled out

Wiggins will miss his second straight preseason game tonight, as the Timberwolves take on Charlotte at home. Muhammad will play but we should have minimal to no interest in rolling him out in our lineups. However, Zach LaVine just became a whole lot more interesting as a tournament option with Wiggins unavailable. Public perception will say that he “busted” in Minnesota’s last game, keeping his ownership down, where in reality the Timberwolves actually just destroyed the Grizzlies. Trot LaVine out in your lineups with confidence.

Goran Dragic

Goran Dragic and Justise Winslow starting; Luke Babbitt will play, has not been confirmed as the starter

Babbitt and Winslow will play tonight against the Sixers, according Coach Erik Spoelstra. Babbitt has been utilized at both forward positions in his short time with the Heat in the preseason, but this news doesn’t alter the fantasy outlook of this game all that much unless Babbitt is confirmed the starter at some point before lock. Even then, it’s unlikely to change much. We would still prefer to get our exposure in this game from the Miami back court and the young GOAT, Hassan Whiteside.

Sixers starting five as expected

Sergio Rodriguez, Gerald Henderson, Robert Covington, Dario Saric and Joel Embiid will start for Philadelphia tonight against the Heat.

Jahlil Okafor

Indiana Pacers
10/21/16, 6:24 PM ET

Jahlil Okafor will play 6-8 minutes tonight, expected to come off the bench

Okafor was not in consideration for tonight’s slate, but these minutes (no matter how minuscule they are) will have to come from somewhere, and is slight knock to the projected minutes of the Sixers front court. Dario Saric was a fringe tournament option before Okafor was confirmed as playing, and now is nothing more than a long-shot tournament flier in what is a plus matchup against Derrick Williams.

Cory Joseph

Orlando Magic
10/21/16, 6:14 PM ET

Cory Joseph, Terrence Ross, and Jared Sullinger ruled out; Pascal Siakam starting at PF

Kyle Lowry, DeMar DeRozan, DeMarre Carroll, Pascal Siakam and Jonas Valanciunas will start for Toronto against the Wizards this evening. Siakam gets another nod at the starting power forward position with Sullinger out, as the Raptors seem hesitant to roll Patrick Patterson out with the starting unit. However, outside of Lowry and DeRozan, there isn’t whole lot to love as far as viable fantasy options in this matchup for Totonto.

Otto Porter Jr.

Utah Jazz

Otto Porter back in the starting lineup tonight; Wall and Beal's minutes increased to 28-29

John Wall, Bradley Beal, Otto Porter, Markieff Morris and Marcin Gortat will all start for Washington tonight. This is the first time all preseason the Wizards will have their entire starting lineup together in a game environment. With news, that Wall and Beal will have their minutes increased, we can expect that the starters will receive fairly significant run in their final preseason tuneup.

Meyers Leonard

Milwaukee Bucks
10/21/16, 6:00 PM ET

Meyers Leonard (back) will play tonight, Shabazz Napier looking unlikely

Leonard will in fact suit up tonight for the Trail Blazers, leaving a significant dent to the fantasy appeal of Ed Davis in this matchup. This will still be an uptempo game so we will need to monitor the situation as news comes available to fully take advantage of the potential fantasy goodness.

Danny Green

Philadelphia 76ers
10/21/16, 4:00 PM ET

Danny Green (quad) and Jonathon Simmons (calf) ruled out tonight

Green and Simmons weren’t really on our fantasy radar to begin with, but their absence should open up additional playing time for some of the wing players buried on the Spurs bench. This game is certainly a situation to monitor, as the Rockets have already ruled out a number of their starters. Assuming San Antonio rolls out a starting lineup that resembles anything close to normal, this game may not stay competitive enough for players like LaMarcus Aldridge and Kawhi Leonard to play their normal allotment of preseason minutes.

Nicolas Batum

LA Clippers
10/21/16, 3:50 PM ET

Batum, Hawes, Roberts, Williams all ruled out for CHA tonight

It’s not all that surprising to see Charlotte rest players on a second night of back-to-back in their final preseason game. There’s not a whole lot of information currently available as far as which players will be the beneficiaries of additional playing time, but if we get any word that Kemba Walker will receive anywhere near his normal allotment of preseason minutes, he automatically becomes one of the premier point guard options on the slate.

James Harden

Cleveland Cavaliers
10/21/16, 3:41 PM ET

Harden, Ariza, Capela, and Gordon ruled out for tonight

James Harden, Trevor Ariza, Eric Gordon and Clint Capela will all be rested for Friday’s road matchup with the Spurs. Not only will they receive the night off, but they will not even travel with the team to San Antonio. It’s too early to evaluate how this will affect the fantasy value of the remaining Houston players, as we have yet to see any word on a possible Rockets starting lineup. We will continue to provide updates as news becomes available.

Briante Weber

Miami Heat
10/20/16, 7:07 PM ET

Briante Weber replacing Goran Dragic in the starting lineup

Dion Waiters, Wayne Ellington, Derrick Williams and Hassan Whiteside will join Weber in the starting unit for tonight’s road game in Charlotte. Weber is more of a distributing point guard that excels on the defensive side of the ball, so it’s tough to see him as viable fantasy target tonight with all the other value options on the board, including from his own team.

Frank Kaminsky

Phoenix Suns

Randy Foye

Brooklyn Nets
10/20/16, 6:30 PM ET

Randy Foye starting at SG for BKN

Foye finds himself in the starting lineup along with Jeremy Lin, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Trevor Booker, and Brook Lopez for the Nets. This news is a significant blow to the fantasy value of Sean Kilpatrick, and Bojan Bogdanovic, who are now reserved to solely long-shot tournament fliers on this abbreviated slate.

Goran Dragic

Milwaukee Bucks
10/20/16, 6:11 PM ET

Goran Dragic (rest) ruled out

Dragic will sit out Thursday’s preseason game against the Hornets. The Heat are on the first leg of a back-to-back to wrap up the preseason, so it’s not all that surprising to see a veteran like Dragic be held out for a rest day. Tyler Johnson will slide into the starting lineup at point guard and it is the direct beneficiary of increased playing time in the absence of Dragic. With Johnson primarily playing the point, opportunity will open up for the likes of Dion Waiters, Wayne Ellington, and Rodney McGruder at the wing positions.
